Can anyone tell me how you know when your order has shipped from David's? I ordered on 3/1 and my account shows my order and says it invoiced on 3/1, but there's been no activity since. I sent them an e-mail but haven't heard back and am actually getting a little frustrated. I'm not pleased with their customer service so far.

Yep, I got an email too. It kind of sounds like maybe yours has slipped through the cracks? Is there a toll free number to call? I think I'd bug them!

I just had DH check and he said it cleared on 3/6. I guess I'll just hold out until Monday, and if I don't hear anything by then, I'll call them. I so prefer e-mail. I loathe talking on the phone.

It says shipping to the U.S. takes six to ten business days? Neither of my orders came quickly compared to what we're used to with, say, Amazon, so maybe it will arrive tomorrow? I'm surprised that you didn't get the confirmation e-mail that says "Your DAVIDs TEA order has shipped!" though! And they got back to me right away when I e-mailed with the tea samples question, so I'm surprised there too. Sorry it hasn't gone smoothly. (It's not in your SPAM folder is it? I've found e-mails in there that I would never expect to wind up there).

I haven't been keeping up with this, but I should as I've decided to go to Abbotsford & visit an actual David's shop in person.
Last weekend I got a box of 50 tea bags from the Empress Hotel in Victoria BC. Theirs is an amazing custom blend, proprietary, that they serve with their famous afternoon tea service. Thy also have some other Empress blends. They claim you can buy it on their site as well but I'm not sure where. It's a lovely black tea - the info on the blends is for sure on their site. I'm interested in the red velvet as well...

I got my teas! They came at 4:30 p.m., and I leave work at 5:00 p.m., so I'm rushing to try my first one. I've got Chocolate Chili Chai in my mug, steeped for about 5 minutes, and it's much more mild than I expected. Not much flavor, but it was lifted with one drop of ez-sweetz. Tomorrow, I'll get to experiment with tea amounts, flavors, and brew times. It's a DD tomorrow too, so I'll have that to look forward to. I have to say, the Amaretto smells incredible.

To those of you who have been to Teavana...what do you suggest? I'd like to avoid the fruity teas. I might go to the mall in a week or 2 (my mom sent me bday money

People's taste in teas are so different it would be hard to buy based on what someone else liked. I have disliked some that others loved and loved some that others hated. Trail and error I guess is the best method although I am trading some rather than storing or throwing away. It is an expensive guess though. I hate to buy things I find I do not like so trading is a good way to go. But I did not like Banana Dream Pie at all just for a reference.

The banana dream pie smells really good, but I didn't find it flavorful enough. I'm with you Adi. Our tastes are all so different, it's hard to tell what one person would like and another would not.

Funny, I'm not a fruity tea kind of girl either, but one of my favorites is Twinnings Blackcurrant Breeze. Yummy!
I realized that I have been avoiding my David's Teas, and I decided I knew why. My tea ball lets too much stuff get through, so I was filtering it through a coffee filter, but that's far from ideal. It just felt like such a pain in the hiney to make a darn cup of tea. So I broke down this morning and ordered some of those t-sacs from amazon. Can't wait til they get here!

BLAND!!!! That's why I don't care for teas!! I know I tried to describe it before (no "body", to "tea" tasting, etc.) .. but bland describes it perfectly! No matter what flavor, although some are better than others. Especially with extra sweetener and So Delicious creamers (10 cals/T). But, I am still drinking them on my DD's and am constantly tweaking to get them to taste better. But, they do taste better due to the tips (boiling water, less steep time, etc.) and maybe when I'm done with the stash I have here at work, I'll try a sample thingamajig of David's Teas. Maybe.
![]() I snarfed a package of Pumpkin Spice on the out of season spot at the store - cost me all of 65 cents!

I do love the perfect steeper (metal strainer that sits in your mug) and the automatic steeper (sort of like a pitcher with a filter in it) b/c both of the strainers are super-fine. I find especially any of the teas with rooibos, they have very small pieces.
I don't know Teavana well, but I think DT has a best seller list? Forever Nuts is a crowd pleaser, and I'm loving cocomint creme a lot. I love mango diablo (but I drink it cold, not hot) and banana bread, and a bunch of the fruity ones I love chilled (watermelon, and bamboozled).

Ones I liked enough to order a big supply of were Red Velvet Cake, Forever Nuts, Cookie Dough, Creme Caramel Rooribos, Checkmate, and Chocolate Orange. I like chocolate-style flavors and drink my tea with cream or half-and-half but no added sweetener, so what I like tends to be naturally somewhat sweet. I just got a new order of David's Teas in at my workplace, but I'm going out of town for 10 days so will have to wait to try them. But I am going to visit the David's Tea store in Boston on the 23rd, and I packed a supply of my favorite teas as a necessity. |
