My order came: cocoa cancellation, banana dream pie and salted caramel. I got samples that sound good. Read my lips was one of them.

I like read my lips- pleasantly minty, like an after dinner mint. It's black tea though, so I'm sparse with it.
The chicory has almonds and vanilla, and a hint of the roasty bitterness, great texture, like coffee. Love it hot, now I like it cold too! P. S. Carly, please report on the banana tea asap ![]() Last edited by sorenkkg; 02-22-2013 at 08:35 PM.. |

Since I quit Diet Coke I have been trying to learn to like hot tea. Not making much progress beyond Chamomile at bedtime. SO I am drinking plain oldiced Luzinanne this morning. Guess I just have no taste for tea. I do have quite a collection to take to work to see if someone else wants any fruity tea flavors.
I do plan to order a couple from David's teas that have been highly recommended here to see if it is more the quality that I can buy locally versus the actual flavored teas. Birthday Cake seems to be on a lot of favorite list.

Would you believe you guys influenced me to do an order?
![]() LOL-- I talked about it with DH first, since he thinks I'm bordering on "hoarder" territory... but we agreed that I do drink what I have, so I felt I could go ahead with an order ![]() Here's what I got: 100g (so I get the tin): honeybush lemon ginger (giving it a try, assuming I'll like it cold), Chicory Dickory Doc (will use the tin for sleigh ride), Luscious Watermelon. I honestly didn't even want to tell you guys about watermelon it's sooooooooooo great chilled in the summer, I want to keep it all for me! But, since I love you JBs and LCFers, I'll share with you ![]() 50g for me to try: bamboozled (had some in the store, it's a nice light peachy tea), sleigh ride (I have some, I love it, so I'll combine this with what I have for a full tin), red velvet cake b/c so many of you guys like it!, goji pop, exotica. I have my eye on my iced tea habit in the summer, so bamboozled, goji, and exotica, and lemon ginger should all be good cold, and have low or no caffeine ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() cuz you know how I get with too much caffeine! ![]() Oh, and I got a new infuser, b/c I had 2, but only 1 good one, the other had holes that were waaaaay too big (anything rooiboos passed right through), so I'm splurging on this. ![]() I sent a note after my order, with an ask for a spare label, for sleigh ride, so I can use the tin for it, and I'm sure that will be sent Hope the red velvet is as good as you all say!!! ![]() S. |

I once grew camomile ...easy, pretty, just snip the flowers and dry. You'd need a few plants, for a stash for the year...it's an annual, though, and I prefer perennials...but maybe you could give it a try Adi?

I just made a mug of the banana dream pie. It's OK, better than most store bought tea, but not close to my beloved cocoa canella.

Ok, I just spent $120 at Tevana and the saleperson pressured me into buying a Tristan glass pitcher--I don't know how to use it! it's a 64 oz. I have tea steeping in it now but it all stays on the top of the water, so what's the use in having that long tea strainer in the middle? LOL
I picked up: Watermelon Mint Chiller, Javana Mate, Cacao Mint Black, and Blackberry Mojito! |

Lisa - when it fully permeates, the tea sinks a bit. Different teas will float more or sink more, depending on the ingredients.

I'm too lazy to quote everyone, so I'll make it quick.
![]() Chamomile tea tastes like dishsoap to me. ![]() Watermelon tea????? Now that sounds like a tasty chilled summer glass of yum. I love coffee with with lots of salted caramel SF Torani syrup in it (actually drinking some now ). Carly - no cream in your tea???? ![]() |

David's Tea has a Salted Caramel flavor, but I haven't tried it yet.
I'm trying to do a potato hack with no fat eaten with the potatoes and avoiding dairy for a month. (And I miss the dairy already, especially in tea. ) Anyway, I've been trying to find which teas taste pretty good even without added cream or half and half. The "Toasted Walnut" from David's Teas is good without anything added to it, IMO. |

I've never put dairy in tea. The salted caramel was DT and ok. I got a sample of read my lips, but I didn't care for it.

Almond milk is awesome all around (though it does have fat so I guess not with the potatoes?)

I thought cream or milk in tea was a purely British thing. I've never even tried it to my recollection.
But I rarely put cream in my coffee either. |

I love cream in my black tea (especially the chocolately ones), but not for any other kind--I made the mistake of doing that for a fruity green tea and it curdled.

Ya-- no. Black based tea only. Brits started it, but it's pretty common everywhere I think?
You could do lemon, but you'd never do both (curdling). dairy isn't common in green teas, and with herbal, it depends on the flavor... no to camomile, mint, and fruit-based teas. maybe yes to a rooibos chai, or my chicory almond vanilla, b/c its so like coffee. Oh, and the tracking says my DT delivery should be today!!! ![]() |

Dawn-
sing it to me sistah! I can't stand ice cream or apple pie either! And putting ice cream ON pie??? Nooo way. Even worse is ice cream melting into birthday cake that was so common at birthday parties when I was a kid. It's nice to know I'm not the only one! As far as pie, I sometimes like the filling, but never the crust. Oddly enough, the only ice cream I ever liked I only could find once, about twenty five years ago, and it was vanilla ice cream with chunks of apple pie in it.....go figure! PS No offense to anyone who loves these things! |
