How to enjoy your grandchildren & not lose sight of JUDDD
I've found that when I keep my rotations going, plan my meals & get lots of sleep.....I am a whole new person! This WOE has done for me what no other ever has. This past week has proven to me that not only does JUDDD make me feel good.......it makes me feel like I have control over my own body! Weird, huh? No, it isn't......I like it!!
This past week I've had my twin grandsons here for a visit! I love them so much. They are 12 & really busy, active little guys! Between them & my son who is 24/7, my diet suffered. It was my choice. It certainly wasn't the fault of my grandsons or my son. It was just easier to eat with them, to not plan good balanced meals. Why do that when they loved, loved pizza, grilled cheese sandwichs, ice cream & cold cereal? We had Captain Crunch Berries in this house for the first time in years!! We watched Harry Potter movies & played dominoes! This grandma is a patsy, don't I know it!! And, I have no self control in some situations. This morning the house seemed so empty with the boys gone. But, man! did we make a bunch of new memories! And their laughter still rings in my ears. ![]() The lesson I've learned is to enjoy life! I started back to JUDDD today with a potato DD. I did the same thing after christmas. Now I can settle down to my real world. I'm just fine with that as long as I have all of my JB's to share this path. Thanks, JB's!!!

![]() ![]() I have to agree with this!! I enjoyed myself a little tooo much over the holidays but it was so easy to get back to JUDDD! In the past, just the thought of never being able to eat chocolate until "I lose the weight" stressed me out and made me eat more. I loveeee the freedom and ease of going back to this WOE ![]() |

This is a beautiful post Shari! Your love for your family shines through, and is wonderful to hear. It was just a break from JUDDD, no harm done. We have to be able to live our lives "normally" sometimes, and this was a great time to do it! Good for you!

I am seriously about to cry. What a beautiful post! <where's the kleenex, darnit??> You are ADORABLE (I love that new pic of you!) and your grandkids must have had just as much fun as you did! I have 2 boys 14 & 16 and know the giggles, activities & foods you speak of well. They would LOVE spending that kind of time with a grandparent so I just want to thank YOU for being that kind of grandma to your grandkids. Seriously, those kinds of memories will be treasures in your grandkids' hearts forever more. XOXO
OH yea, and what Kissa said about the weight & JUDDDing! ![]()

Making joyful memories with the grandkids - without feeling the least bit guilty about eating pizza, popcorn, grilled cheese sandwiches, mac & cheese, ice cream, candy & cookies...since the weight gain will be lost on the next DD. It doesn't get any better than that! I being a JUDDDing Nana! |

Wow Shari...love the new picture....you are beautiful inside and out.
Love your post. You are a very lucky woman knowing that time with family is special and memories made so precious. Your grandsons will remember time spent with you with lots of smiles and happy feelings. My grandson is 16 now. Just wait until one of yours drives up in his own car and take you out to lunch! Because I only have one grandson (and 3 beautiful granddaughters) I always tell him he is my most favorite boy in the world! ![]() I also have twins....granddaughters.....its so much fun being with them and experiencing the lovely girls they are...their differences and how they are alike.

Shari That is an amazingly wonderful tale you told. I was very close to both of my Grandmother's and have several other "grandma" type figures. The memories you are making with them will LAST their entire lifetime. I know, I am living proof. I am 42 and my Grandma's have been gone for years and still, I have many happy moments remembering the times I spent with them!

I just KNEW you all would understand what I was saying/feeling!! My middle granddaughter is 20 today! The other 2 grandaughters are 21 & 16. I also have a baby grandson who just turned a year old! So, I have many more memories to make in time.
![]() Thanks for the comments on my new picture! I don't get "made up" very often. But, I did the day the boys went home. I met their mother in Waco for her to take them back to College Station. Then, I shopped til I almost dropped! It was a good afternoon & I got lots of excercise walking!! The potato day yesterday was great! I lost 3 pounds of what I'd gained. I'm telling ya.........this stuff works!! ![]() Now, I need to read more on what's happening around here. It was so late last night, I gave up trying to catch up. My DH is off doing something on our place(he's always busy!!). My son is playing on his computer after having a 3 hour time with one of his trainers. So, I have a bit of time to myself. My only resolution (don't usually make them) is to read more books! I miss them & have spent too much time doing other things. I'm going to pick out which one I want to start with. I saw a book thread & I'm headed there to check it out!Every one have a great day! You all deserve it!! Thanks again JB's! |

Shari, what a great post. Thanks for sharing the perspective. I tend toward being a little obsessive about my rotations and it's good to read that sometimes letting go of control a little bit doesn't result in anything horrible happening, in fact, it can result in a lot of fun happening!
I'm so glad you got to have such a good time with your grandsons and made so many happy memories. ![]() |

What a beautiful time with your grandsons! I would love to experience that! My 2 boys are both grown and married. The oldest is 33 and has been married almost 8 years with no children. The youngest is 25 and teaching and finishing his Master's degree, so no time for children. I listen to someone like you and dream! How wonderful for you! Enjoy every minute!

Absolutely beautiful post Shari! Beautifully worded and I can tell it came straight from your heart. As others have said, you are making memories that these youngsters will carry with them throughout their entire lives. Your post truly warmed my heart on this cold winter day.
