Carly- I wonder how do you eat all your UD calories at dinner. Do you spread them out through out the evening?

WOE: JUDDD for WL/5:2 IF for maintenance
Just did some googling of what Fast 5 is and it sounds interesting-I like the idea of having a window of eating, especially on my UDs, which tend to get out of control It sounds like some of you combine this concept with JUDDD? Does that mean you still keep your UD/DD calories but then just eat them in a five hour window? Are you allowed to change your eating window around, based on what your days plans are, or does it have to be the same time every day? For example say your window was noon-5, but then you had a dinner event and needed to eat at 7pm one day. Can you change your window to later? Or does it have to be the same everyday?

I'm still reading over the info, but it sounds like there's no calorie counting on the plan I'm getting close to being in maintenance range (around 13lbs to go, until I hit goal), so I'm interested in something that's not focused on counting calories so much once I get to maintance. I wonder if I could start out doing a JUDDD/Fast 5 combo and then ease into plain Fast 5 after I get to goal? I do like JUDDD, but I'm always open to new ideas

Well my UD calories are about 1600- in a restaraunt this is more than easy to do- IMHO anyway. But at home, I eat dinner and about 2 hours later a bedtime snack. I don't count UDs anymore so I may go a bit over or a bit under, but I eat to satisfaction. Some UDs I have coffee during the day so I have calories from half and half on those days. I don't fast till dinner every UD, but I do it more than half the time. I also don't usually get a lunch break at work so lunch just blows by even though some days I packed one. Then my lunch may be my bedtime snack- a yogurt and raw veggies or a yogurt w/ rice cakes and PB2 or laughing cow cheese.

Yep, I eat most of DD/UD calories in a very compressed time window. About six months ago, the last time I read up on Fast 5, they were allowing 30 - 40 calories during the fasting period. That took care of my coffee with 1 tsp hwc addiction and I was happy.

Strict Fast 5 uses the same eating window every day. I have slipped it around for special occasions with no negative impact.

Oh, also, some people use a smaller window. So, you can do a Fast 3 or something if it helps suppress the desire to keep eating. I usually hold eating to a two or three hour window (especially on DD). This is not strict Fast 5, but it works for me.

Let's see. It should be possible to eat JUDDD calories with LC food (or vegan food or whatever) in a Fast 5 format. Interesting.

I did not "lose" weight. I evicted it. It is gone and it ain't coming back!

JUDDD cares about calories. JUDDD does not care what you eat. Your body probably does.

I read the Fast 5 ebook last night (it was free to print out ). It didn't say you could move the window around, but for me I already know on Sundays my window will have to be 12:30-5:30, since we always eat lunch at my in-laws. Also, we're usually in bed between 9-10pm and I don't like eating right before bed, so I'm going to give it a try but start with a 2pm-7pm window. 7pm is when I usually end my DDs so I'm already in the habit for that. Food wise-the ebook gives no guidelines, except that you should eat 'healthy,' so I think it would work with JUDDD/lc etc I'm going to give it a try for the next few days and see how it works!

Also, has anyone read the new book, The 8 Hour Diet by David Zinczenko? It sounds pretty similar to Fast 5, but with a bigger window? It just came out last month and my library doesn't have it yet. I'm curious to see what it's about though.

I read an article recently about The 8 Hour Diet and it sounded interesting, but I haven't read the book. From the article, it sounded like Fast 5 with just a bigger window, which I understand works better with a female metabolism.

Just happen to come across this thread. This is my 3rd day for doing Fast 5 and I'm down 3.6#. I know it's all water, but any loss is a good loss for me . However, I don't use Juddd, I'm combining Fast 5 w LC, my window is 2pm - 7pm.
