It's a Bank Holiday weekend in the UK this week (same as a US Public Holiday except not all Bank Holidays are the same in England, Wales, Scotland and NI).

DH is going to take advantage of the long weekend to experiment with a modified potato hack. He's been cycling the same 3lbs since his long business trip and he wants to put it behind him. I think his issue lies in business lunches and dinners which tend to reduce his DDs in a week to 1 or 2 but he'd like to give himself some wiggle room to cope with those.

He will eat the same higher protein breakfast that I do (as part of my leptin reset programme), leave a 5-6 hour gap and then eat potatoes for his main meals or snacks if he needs them. He'll need the gap to make sure that the protein and fat don't interfere with the glycaemic index of the potato (if that is the mechanism that contributes to the success of the PH - I'm still not sure).

It will be interesting to see:
  • how he fares;
  • if he has gut problems (he normally has the digestion of a shark);
  • if he loses weight;
  • if the breakfast interferes with weight loss.
