Holy Moly $8 for unleaded!!!!!
Here regular unleaded finally dropped to $3.79 a gallon!
During the shortage after the hurricane in the fall it was almost $5 a gallon, but $8- that's disgaceful!!!!!!

You would be in for a major shock if you moved down to the carolinas.

Probably couldn't get a 1600 sq ft house for under 400,000 either.

With a front and back garden!

I've been keeping busy knitting & crocheting...I have 3 friends who are expecting, and I started making these for baby gifts!
They're so darn cute...little rain boot booties!!!

(I'm just doing low-carb lately but I lurk in JUDDDland almost every day to see how y'all are doing!)

Btw, I didn't design these...I bought the pattern, and the genius who designed them *also* has a cowboy boot pattern!

I just love these little things so much, though...with the *handles*!!!

Sunday, I am so glad you like your scarves.
I made a couple for myself and I just adore how fluffy and soft the yarn is.

I haven't put the booties on etsy yet because I'm still working on the gifts...hoping by the time I make 3 pair, I'll have it down and that they will look really nice...my first "practice" one came out a little wonky & took 4 hours--just for one!

but since then they've been looking better & I'm so much quicker. Knitting a scarf is so much easier in comparison, even though it's 200 times bigger, because it's just a rectangle.

I love what I'm doing! I keep designing stuff! I have so many ideas...sometimes it takes me a couple of days or a week to get everything right, and then I like to make each item in 4 or more colors before I put it on etsy.

Yes, the scarves are so warm and feel so good against my skin.

I will place another order because my friends want the same colors! Also, I know the boots will be a hit, I would buy as gifts as well, although you should make them pricey if they are that difficult to make.

I was gonna say! Well, 400,000 would still be a steal where I am, but for the south I would expect under 200,000. I really want to move to GA. DW would prefer NC, but I think I'm convincing her about GA.

I'd pick up and buy a house down there tomorrow if it weren't for the whole find new employment issue. Beside the fact that I like my job, I know jobs are hard to come by these days although I have quite a bit of experience and have worked in 2 NY teaching hospitals so hope that would make me "a good catch."

The houses we have looked at online with the morgage, taxes and utilities would cost less than our rent for a 2 bedroom apartment!!!

I live just South of Asheville NC but commute to the corridor of cities Northwest of Atlanta very frequently. Love the mountain views and inexpensive housing and weather. Sometimes like, sometimes frustrated by the slow pace of life.

But I suspect when my parents no longer need us nearby, we will return to the Atlanta area. Competition there makes shopping both less expensive and more full of choices. Atlanta is a hub airport and we travel a lot (I do mean a lot, we already have two cruises booked and the year is still young). The thrift stores are pure pleasure - I wear designer clothing and have not bought retail in decades. Many of our BFFs are there.

Somebody is going to be a very happy baby. Very nice. I love to knit and sometimes crochet. I love those rain boots. So cute. . I have been doing wire crochet jewelry for the past month since I hate to clean house and too cold and wet to go outside so I try to find anything to do rather than crank up the cleaning supplies.

Noticed something's strange - with every new avatar photo, Cindy gets younger?

Appreciate all the profoundly meaningful avatar photos from Sunday.

Eldercare here has gotten extremely time consuming and I can't post as much as I'd like. Every once in a while I can pop in and read. I miss you all, but won't say because you are all so nice, as many do. I'd say because you are all so bright while you are being nice. It does me good to get to come in and find some intelligent conversation on the JUDDD board.

Regret not being able to welcome new folks here individually - I used to be so on top of that! Anyway, happy we are being "found" by each one - Welcome. It's a great place to learn a lot, in good company.

Hi, I have been reading your posts for a few days now and have decided to try the Judd woe. I sort of stayed this weekend by making sat and sun my udd and will do Mon as my first dd. I have done lc for a good many years of and on so are familiar with that . I am hoping that being able to have ud will make this an easier process. I'm planning to weigh tomorrow since i failed to weigh sat. I'm planning to also do the potato hack tomorrow.

Combining JUDDD rotations with PHD foods got me to goal with greatly improved health (and a drive to boogie-boogie-boogie all night long).

Sandwich generation caregiver, with eldercare in my busy family's home. Lost 13 pounds on JUDDD in 2009 and began happy maintenance. Slipped up in 2012, but JUDDD got me back to goal!
