He was a safety manager for a local government entity.

He ran his own Security/Private Investigation company on the side and is looking to get that back up and running. If he can get some contracts, we'll be good. He's put out some feelers and is getting some positive responses and feedback.

He's also a part time bouncer at a bar, and they'd be happy to have him more often than he's been working there lately. He has his hand in a lot of jars, so something will pan out eventually.

Sounds super promising, Dawn! Yippeee!!!

Debbie, I'm sorry to hear your DH has been off that long. Hugs to you! It sure does bring on anxiety & stress.

LG, sorry to hear your having hip issues. Pain sucks, period. I can see how losing weight would make it worse...even though we tend to think it'd do the opposite.

I bought the spray Vitamin D and really like the ease of using it. I will spray before I will swallow a big old pill. Found that D was my problem several years ago.

Where do you purchase the spray, and do you also take calcium? I would prefer not to order online if possible.

Sorry but I bought it online. I live in a rural area and it is cheaper for me to shop online. It is orange flavored and I like the convenience. It was on special from Dr. M so I got a three pack. Should last me a long time.

I could purchase it online, and I will if I can't find it in town. I do purchase things online, but am the type of person who wants it NOW. Nevermind that it might take me a week to find it, when I could have already gotten in the mail.

I love buying as much as possible online. These days delivery doesn't cost much- sometimes it free. I find everything comes super fast, too! The best part is neither DW or I have to stand on long lines, pack it into car, unpack car, put in wagon, cart it up in elevator and then put away. When I order it on line some young guy brings it to my door, rings the bell and will even bring it inside if it's heavy- gotta love that!!!!!

I know! I don't have all that far to go to get to Walmart (1.5 miles), and live in a single-family home, so no fuss. However, getting up the nerve/desire to go in Walmart is almost worth ordering it online!

Yeah, our Walmart is insane on Saturday and Sunday (our Wal-mart isn't even one with a grocery section) but those 2 days are the only time we have time to do errends. You can bet you will stand on line for every bit of 25 minutes and there are 30 check out lines with never less than 25 open!!!!

I always say to DW- you'd think they were giving the stuff away. It is much less expensive than Stop and Shop or Shoprite, but we have Target and K-Mart almost as close and those lines are never as bad! K-Mart is a close 2nd, but their parking is actually free- at Target you pay for parking and at Wal-mart if you buy enough they validate your ticket for up to 2 hours- shop fast 'cause you'll be on line for a 1/4 of that time! The Shoprite will pay 75 cents toward your parking, but that doesn't cover but a half hour.

Is this a New York thing or does everywhere make you pay to park?

Wow, big city living. The only way you pay to park at a shopping center here is if someone swipes your car. Sometimes I get lucky and find a short line at wally world. However, I don't see where they sell the D spray. Probably do at GNC, for a mint.

We only pay for parking downtown in the heart of the city. All the Walmarts and Targets have free parking here.

Oh,my! I'm so glad I live more upstate. I would hate to pay for parking LOL If I lived in the city I probably wouldn't even have a car though. I'd be too scared to drive there! We have don't have a Walmart close enough to make it worthwhile so I rarely shop there.

When I said I was rural I really meant it. Our little local Wal Mart has a very limited selection of anything. So unless I want to drive a minimum of 60 miles one way to a larger town I can't find anything local anyway.

I have gotten totally spoiled buying online.

That sounds like a New York thing!

Good lord! NONE of the shops I've ever been to in NJ charge for parking!!! Sometimes I've had to pay for parking at a stadium or festival...lol...I can only think of a couple towns that even have parking meters or municipal lots where you have to pay by the hour.

I know I'm ready to get out of here. We're not even in the city. We are in the next county- 27 minute train ride to Grand Central, but free parking is almost a thing of the past. They have done away with most meters that take change and have the Muni Meters like NYC so you can add time to you space from which ever Muni-meter is close to you. Our movie theater even has Muni-meters. The new feature is you can pay with your cell phone. Just call a number enter your space number and location and it bills you cell phone bill... sickening!!!!!! But good if your in a restaurant and the service is slow! I'd rather add a dollar than pay a $15 dollar parking ticket!!!!

That is nuts! I'm glad I don't have to deal with that. Only place we have to pay for parking is downtown, or at some kind of event. I hope that isn't a spreading trend!

I agree!!! Gas is high enough without having to pay to park!! We've had a lean month so far trying to get over xmas, people not paying for ebay items, and my check almost a month from last one (because of xmas hols we got paid twice, then nothing from 12/21 till 1/15). If I'd had to pay for parking this month it would not have been pretty!

I'm in the southern part of the county (closer to the Bronx) in upper Westchester county the Targets may not have meters or municiple lots where you pay by the hour, but down here there are only 2 grocery stores left where you can park for free- so as you can see having stuff delivered isn't a bad thing at all. DW and I rent 2 parking spaces in the garage of our building for $115 a month per space!!!!!

If you live in a building that doesn't offer parking and you rent a space from our city it's $155 a month and you can only use the space from 8pm-8am. Then they open back up for metered parking from 8am-8pm. Rediculous since there is no parking on city streets from 2am-6am so guests that are spending the night have to find a lot with 12 hour meters.

You should see the parking charges in London. We pay to park on our street too, per car! That is one reason we only have 1 car.

And don't get me going on gas. £1.40 per litre. I'll try to work that out in $$ per US gallon.

We're in a semi-rural area, in a town of about 14k people. Our WalMart is just sad (well, more sad than most). If it weren't for the internet, I'd be climbing the walls. Shopping online keeps me stocked up on hard-to-find, exotic, or just higher-quality items than are available locally.

Cindy, I'm not sure which is more distressing: the sheer expense of the fuel...or the horrific exchange rate!
