Cindy this is the place to have a good moan. We have all done it and know just how you feel. We all want to wake up and be the person we imagine, and a with no effort. But sadly we know that isn't going to happen. So we keep on keeping on, trying to remember that this is not a race and that we didn't get fat overnight so we can't expect to get slim overnight either.
![]() But we have our UDs to help compensate for the DDs. And you have had a number of great DDs I know. Pleased that you are feeling more positive now Glad that you are getting some good rest Carly. We all suffer if we don't sleep well. ![]()

Cindy, that's a great result! Dont be tyrranised by your scales, you're doing brilliantly!!Re sleeping: I had some wide-awake DDs at first. Now, I make sure I eat something at bedtime and I sleep fine. If you eat meat, turkey contains tryptophan, which helps you sleep. I have a Ryvita with about 75 cals of cheddar sheese - my DD allowance is 300 cals. |

Jacci- What wonderful news!! So happy for you and your family!! What a great way to start the new year!!
!!I'm finishing off my first week of JUDDD. No losses, yet. I understand it can take a while, so I'm being patient. I also started back to the gym 2 weeks ago, mostly lifting, and that can cause a temporary gain. Since I've STS, I'll be content with that. I'm only planning to lose about 9 more lbs, so it's not a monumental amount of weight. I just hope it doesn't take a long, long, time to lose. I'm doing 2 clean weeks of 500cal DDs and 1800cal UDs. I'm doing mostly LC, but on 1 day a week I allow higher carbs on an UD (today!! fries and frozen custard at lunch ). I hope to be able to lose well with this. I feel fine. A bit of insomnia, but I was also taking the resveratrol and pterostillbene, and wonder if that's it. I'll give it a bit more time and see if I can get my sleep straightened out before I drop them.I'm excited to read about your past successes! I look foward to joining you in that JUDDD success

OH! I have to report...I also caved and QVC struck again....sigh! (this really is a happy dance...) Don't know whether to count this as my reward for having lost so much weight, a salve for the last few months, a late birthday present, or an aid to assist in my woe and to help me give over the winter blahs!
Last Sunday (week ago) David's corner had a super special on the Ninja Kitchen system and I couldn't resist. I got it today so now my Magic Bullet is obsolete and will be finding a new home. It has the single serving cups and that replaces the Bullet. This system has the food processor, grating and slicing devices along with the bread paddles, too. So my old food processor is also out the door...I'll keep my mini one which is also my mixer and immersion blender. (I still have the Vita-Mix, but it's just too large for one person. Keeping it because it grinds nuts and seeds and even wheat berries if I decide to grind my own flour again.) ![]() ![]() ![]() But that's not all...sigh! Again! This Sunday David had the Ninja Cooking system at a super price...I first saw this system about Thanksgiving time and have been checking it out ever since...I knew I'd be in trouble if I saw a good buy on it, and I did. This is a slow cooker/roaster/searing pan and also has a steam roasting ability....sigh! My slow cooker is a small one and I've been looking for a larger one but this Ninja caught my eye and I've been drooling over it since first seeing it at Macy's and this is a really good buy so I'm happy. I know, it's hard to justify these for just myself, but I love to cook and have done it for myself for so long, I don't regret it...but I just had to confess to someone and you all fit the bill. ![]()

at looking forward to the DD! I hope you're able to maintain (or even lose) easily on 5:2. It's really tempting to have only 2 DDs... I'm having a hard time w. 3-4. I know it'll get easier with practice and time. I'm trying to follow the recommendations and drink the shakes etc to my cals are right on. But I miss food on the Dds. I also appreciate your validation. It means a lot!I'm watching Biggest Loser as I type. I need to up my workouts! I know it's not real life scenarios, but I think I'll try to do a bit more tomorrow. Something I've just figured out. I make a meal or dish and then have a portion on an UD. It then sits in the fridge during my Dd, then I have another portion the next UD. At this rate I'll need to portion it out and freeze the leftovers. My fam doesn't usually eat the LC meals I prepare-like quiches or LS casseroles. I may need to just freeze indiv. servings of things... Hmm. Definitely stretches the budget . |

OHHH I am jealous of the Ninja!!!
I find the 5:2 really interesting. I did that accidentally when I was sick. Just didn't really "count" since I was in a bad mood from losing my voice and was on the couch pretty much all the time feeling sorry for myself LOL Anyway, I maintained when I did that but I know at least 2 UDs were horrendous and I did not exercise except for one day. I think if I got my 4 days of exercise and was really careful on UDs I might be able to lose this week. Yesterday was supposed to be an UD but I only had around 1300 calories w/exercise. I will see how today goes since we are having a super bowl party at work so there is bound to be some yummy munchies. I am only having coffee this morning so if I can make it past lunch without pigging out today can be a DD LOL My plan is to do my walking DVD tonight and also tomorrow night so hopefully my WI on Thursday will be a good one!
