The biopsy is not till 2/1. I'm not sure that has much to do with the sleeplessness at this point.

Sending good vibes to you all, the board's been busy with a lot of caring, as usual...It's sunny and warm in SoCal but the temps are dropping again tomorrow with rain on the horizon...so I guess it's still winter.

Time for me to wake up and small the roses...I've been a bad girl. I've been stuck at the same weight for three months now, just going up a pound on UD and down one on DD...sigh. I keep telling myself that it's just my bod adjusting to the new me after losing so much. Now that I've said that (again) I was checking my menus for the last months and found that the carbs have been much higher than the first three months when I lost so much....not true for all, but I know I lose more when I eat low carb. And to make matters worse, the DD calories have been high and the UD calories have been all over the board, sometimes UUUAD and sometimes too low. Gotta get back on the path, depending more on all the JB's and take it seriously again.

Just saying...

Mary...sure hope you're feeling good these days! You have been through a lot and have done quite well in my opinion under those circumstances.

I'm positive you will get back in the groove and JUDDing along perfectly in no time. You have a good attitude and that counts for so much. You know what to do and have tons of support, as you already know!

Onward, two, three, four. Up, two, three, four. Down, two, three, four!

Yes Mary, sometimes we just have to knuckle down and do it right. JUDDD is so forgiving but if we want results we have to get down to the basics. Plan the work and work the plan as they say.

You'll be watching the pounds slip off in no time.

Things are okay with me. 126 today, spot on goal after a very good UD when I enjoyed some of my favourite foods but didn't go mad....

One my cats is curled up beside me now. I have to rub her tummy and type one handed to keep her happy. She is an upside down cat, but her daughter hates that, although she was born into my hand. They are all so different.

Mary, lovely to hear from you.

But don't beat yourself up! Your body has been very busy. Considering what you've been through recently, to have maintained your weight is a miracle!

You sound ready to go again now. Onward and downwards!

Mary, so glad you're back. I hope your eye situation is improving all the time. It's great that you've identified your "sticking points" and now you can correct and dive back in. I'll bet the weight does start to drop for you.

Hey guys, thanks for the support, I really 'preciate it. I'm back from the eye doc with a new 'script for glasses and will try to get some right away. Whew! So happy and I didn't have to pitch a fit in office. Eye is doing well, not as quick as either doc or I want, but at least it's stabilized enough get new glasses. The cornea is still cloudy and the lens still not working right, but it's an improvement. The bleeding in the retina isn't any worse, so it's all good.

I asked eye doc#2 if there was anything I could do nutritionally to help the healing process and he said sure...avoid people who smoke and add flax seed to the diet...and, of course, I told him I already ingest it...so now will have to up my intake a bit. Fantastic flour addition, fer shure!

Got my incentive to stick to JUDDD and with your help, I'm back on board. (lost a couple of pounds following yesterday's UD) Thanks for the comments, they help.

Mary I know how delighted you will be about the specs, that had been bugging you for ages. You will soon get rid of the few pounds you gained, losing after a UD is a very, very nice feeling.

Well I have made the decision to try 5:2 I will generally fast on Mondays and Thursdays and I am very exited about it. Somehow I feel that i will eat more sensibly on the UDs now that there are more of them. I don't think I'll get those moments where I just have 'one more' of something because I won't be able to have it tomorrow.

I have had so much success with JUDDD and maintained for over a year. This will be a test to see what happens next. I know I can always add a DD if I see the pounds creeping on. But as I read Mosley's book I doubt that is going to happen.

Wish me luck!

Good luck Cindy! I can't wait to see how it goes for you. I'm thinking my DDs will be Tuesday and Friday (those are no-Zumba days at the gym). Who would have ever thought I'd plan my eating and fasting around the GYM??!!

I Zumba'd up a storm this morning then did 15 mins abs. I loooove excersising on DDs.

It will be fun doing this together. I think a couple of others are trying it, maybe we should start a little JUDDD/5:2 thread?

There's a 5:2 thread in the "other plans" section. Several of us from JUDDD are giving it a shot. You should check it out.

I agree, Carly. Your new avi is beautiful!

I wonder if the 5:2 plan is something I should try...or is it only for maintenance? I want to look into it.

LG, I'm afraid of 5:2 for losing weight. I have such low DDs as it is, and things are slowing down for me. I'm afraid I'd gain bigtime with less of them! <shrug> I'll be really curious to follow along with everyone that tries it! I think it sounds fabulous for maintenance, though. Do let us know if you try it, ok?

Yeah, as good as it sounds, 5:2 ain't going to work to get 60 lbs off. At least not faster than JUDDD, and that's slow enough!

Sorry you guys are having trouble sleeping. I sleep like a log every night, DD or not lately. I just need to go to bed earlier some nights.

Tex, true, I AM drinking more coffee on DDs. Usually I'm up at 6 and have my coffee done by 9-10 am. Yesterday I drank more from noon-2pmish. However, it IS only 1/2 caff coffee.

Maybe it's a coincidence and it's just my cold. I'll report back once the dang head cold is gone. LOL!

Off for a nice UD lunch with hubby somewhere. Who cares where? It'll just be nice to have a quiet lunch with him. (sans kids before the crazy driving to activities the rest of the day!) Have a good afternoon ladies! (and any gents that might be reading)

Really feeling like I'm failing at JUDDD. I lost 6 lbs in 2 wks at the beginning, 2 lbs in Dec., and 2 lbs this month, with only a week left to go. I know I haven't been doing super low DD's, but I have been doing the best that I can. I just looked through my statistics and it seems pretty dismal. At this rate, and starving every other day, and still only 2 lbs a month...it's difficult to keep a good focus. I'll be lucky if I can get back down to 188, which is my 2 lbs for January, by the end of the month.

Sorry you are feeling that way
I have a pretty hard time at my DDs. But I think I am going to try to just drink my DDS, because as soon as I put a bite of food into my mouth I want to eat, and then it is a struggle. Maybe if I just drink(coffee, tea, broth) then it will be easier. Maybe that could help you too? I think the DDs are more important than the UDs as far as calorie counting, and the most benificial part of JUDDD, because fasting is good for you . And if I just drink my DDS, than I will feel like I am REALLY fasting, I think that will be a good accomplishment. Good luck honey, you are a strong girl, I can tell, don't be hard on yourself

Sorry for posting that depressing stuff. I just don't have anywhere else to talk about it, lol. I try to be positive for the most part, and I sense that things are going to get better. I wish I could be at goal for the summer, but I know that's unrealistic. Sometimes I get the JUDDD "high" and feel like I'm doing so great, and people really are noticing my weight loss, and then I see the reality of how much I've actually lost. That's discouraging because I'm so far from where I want to be, but I need to relax and enjoy this journey. The time will pass anyway, and at least I am moving downward, if not quickly. Thank you, Tex, for the support.

Cindy I'm sending
I realized part of why I wasn't sleeping well.
I was freezing and that was waking me right out of my sleep.
Now I have one electric blanket like a matress cover and a little extra padding for my hip and other electric blanket right over the sheet and under 2 quilts and a comforter. I hope it's not a jinx to say this, but I slept better the last 2 nights.

Thank you, Carly. I have found that I need to wear my pajama pants and sometimes a sweat shirt to bed (I used to only sleep in a tee shirt) on DD's, and socks. However, I usually wake up sometime in the night and have to take off some layers. Of course, it's not nearly as cold here!! I'm glad you've found a way to stay warm AND stay asleep at night.

LG!!!! Hon, you vent all you want! It's natural to want to lose as quickly as you can and feel frustrated when things don't seem to go according to that schedule. I am queen of that and so understand! Are you measuring, too? You know I've been frustrated with my up and down 4# this month. I finally measured today and found I'm down 1- 1 1/2" everywhere I measured. I then noticed that my jeans I was so happy to fit in to just a short while ago came out of the dryer and are baggy everywhere. So, phoey on the stupid scale! You have people noticing, too! YOU ARE DOING FABULOUS!!!!!!!!!!! One day at a time sweetie.

Carly, I'm glad you're sleeping better! I'm going to dose myself up with some benadryl again tonight and NOT take the darn afrin that had my nasal passages on fire last night...and pray for sleep tonight! I'll have my electric blanket on, too!

Yes, I'm measuring lol. I am at 35.5 in in the waist, down from 36 (and I was pulling it TIGHT). My clothes are fitting a lot better, and I've been able to pull some 16 pants out of my closet and wear them. My upper body is slimming faster, and I am no longer in plus sizes there.
