Excellent Book!!

Sara, if you browse the JUDDD forums at all, I hope you're doing well. I miss seeing you post.

I am on the last half of an excellent book by Ann Leary (Dennis Leary's wife). It's a novel entitled, "The Good House"...it's about a woman, 60, who's a successful real-estate broker, living alone (divorced), with two children and a grandchild she adores. There's one thing that "might" mar the picturesque quality of her life in the quaint seaside town of Massachusetts...she *might* have a drinking problem. How do you prove you're not an alcoholic? Probably about as easy as proving you're not a witch...(Hildy is also the descendant of a "witch")

The story is a great mystery, at times heart-breaking, funny and just terribly engrossing. I have not been able to put it down!! Highly recommended.

"Never give up on a dream just because of the length of time it will take to accomplish it. The time will pass anyway."

"In every triumph there is a lot of try."

"Have the courage of your desire."

I'm reading "The Puppet Maker's Bones (Death's Order)" by Alisa Tangredi. It goes back and forth in time, but doesn't get confusing and ties in together well. It's about an old man (we're talking really old!) named Pavel who lives a hermit's existence in present day due to breaking The Great Rule, and a sociopath teen who lives across the street from him. The kid gets nosy and I'm at the point in the book where they meet.

I've enjoyed it and hope the ending is as good as the whole book has been .
