You can do it! My plan has been to do a MD today and change rotations for tomorrow & NYE, but it could be 2 UDs in a row. Hopefully I can fast all day and just eat when MIL comes over tonight for dinner. We'll see!

Loving this DD. My original plan for the holidays was regular cycles, reasonable UDs, reasonable DDs. So far, the truth of it is absurd UUADs (pie, cake, booze, cheese, smoked salmon, and onandonandon) followed by stellar, calm DDs. Gotta say, I've been at this Juddd thing since April and it continues to surprise me.
If you're new at this, please don't be discouraged if your old eating patterns surface with some oomph during this season. No matter how rough it gets, no matter how excessive, even if you can't find a decent DD to save your life in the middle of this, juddd will be there on the other end. So will all your JUDDD buds.

so far 2 UUADs in a row .. yesterday was supposed to be a DD

So I am making today a DD, and it WILL be successful!! --- rotations for the holiday season are really not going as planned.... scared to step on the scale

Todays DD:
B: lemon water (10) coffee with cream (40) = 50 cals total so far

So far so good. I am hanging onto my coffee cup until dinner tonight. I also have some pies to bake and some food prep for tomorrow to do coming up. It would be great if I can not have this be another UUAD!

Sipping my coffee, making mincemeat pies, shoving five kinds of ice cream (!) aside in the freezer to make room for other stuff, putting leftover filling for apple pie into the fridge instead of into my gob.

My DD so far is great. I have a very observant dh -- he said this morning, your not eating today, right? I only mentioned I am JUDDDing to him once and he's caught on. Good for me!!

You always come through for me Yesterday was the old Arlene showing up to eat - so I guess I had a big UUAAD. But only gained a lb so that's OK!

OK Carly -- help this newbie out. What does Fast 5ing and WLM mean? I'm gonna have to make a chart for my wall so I know what everyone is talking about! Note: I just went to read your post about bouncing. I really needed that!!

On another note, I've read that I need more that 25 post and 25 days in order to get a signature. Another place I read 60 for both. I want one!!!

I have had a bite of turkey sausage (around 20 cals) and a bite of chicken breast (about the same)...gives me 100 cals so far. Thinking it might not turn out to be a DD, however. I have chicken bog on the stove almost ready to eat, cookies to bake, and eggnog and rum for later. Ixnay on the ietDay.

Fast 5 is another IF plan- with a 5 hour eating window.

With fast 5, does it matter about the 5-hour window? Like, if your first meal is at one pm, and your last meal is at 6 pm, until the next day, that works?

My understanding is the eating window should be about the same each day. For me Fast 5 is purely a maintenance tool or a minimize damage tool. I can eat plenty if I want to in 5 hours. It helps during vacations or holidays if I don't want to deal with rotations. At least I don't eat/ graze through the day. I do 6pm-11pm since I prefer to eat in the evening. Fast 5 says a 16 hour fast is "ideal". I guess each day you could change your eating window- clearly I'm not an expert

I guess even if you only did it on DD it would be better to do all of your eating within a certain window, then allow more time to fast/burn it off...ditto for UD's. Not sure I could do that consistently.

I usually do, because I just eat like that, but I wouldn't want it to be my "rule". I'm rarely hungry before 6pm UD or DD, but sometimes I just wake up hungry and would be very unhappy if I ate at 7am and had to be done at noon! I'm sure if you were a strict Fast 5er you could not have creamer in your coffee if your eating window was at night. I stopped coffee on DD because I couldn't justify the creamer calories, but that is only eod. I love waking up to my coffee on UD. It is still an option on DD if
I choose, so I prefer JUDDD as a permenant WOE, but Fast 5 is good for this time of year and vacations.

Yes, I agree. It is a good option. Thanks for bringing it up.

Update: I had about 100 calories last time I posted...since then, I've had about 1.5 servings of chicken bog (est. 450 cals), 4 nutterbutter cookies (260), 3 cups of egg nog (540!!!)...1360 total (hopefully, lol)...I think I overestimated some of the cals, but cookies and egg nog are definite, unfortunately. Still, not too bad!!

I'm up to 530 today so not so bad! Rate it a 4.5 as I started getting a headache so I had some green beans. Figured I better do that before I started cubing some cheese for tomorrow. Cheese is a real love of mine - any kind! But I managed not to eat any, not even off the cutting board.

But tomorrow, look out!
