LCG - GOOD THINKING!!!!! YOU are so close! You can do this.

Originally my goal was 164 (I'm not at Signature weight right now). Honestly, now I think I would love to be in a solid size 8. No matter what XXX that is. I am in a solid 10, so I think 10 - 12 pounds could get me down into 8's. I'm at 172 right now. Honestly, if I get down to 160, I would be thrilled, 159 would be an ADDED bonus!

I want your muscles! I'm 163 this morning and in size 12s. I would probably need to be less than 150 for 8s!

This is so interesting!
First off- congrats already LCG!!! you are an inspiration!

I will have to think more about this... I notice set points as I come to them (am in one now) so when I overcome those, about every 10-15lbs or so, I feel a sense of accomplishement... but it's not a solid number, it's a range, ya know?

Then, there's sizes... when I need to get rid of a top or bottom b/c it is *clearly* too big, I feel really good. So, I strive for that feeling, and keep some smaller sizes around to check against.
We all know that weight and clothing fit don't necessarily go hand in hand...

I'm not 100% sure that my final goal wt. will be final, or if I need to go that low, so while I have it written down, for me, it's more about how I look and feel and where I get to SHOP

I'd like to not have my size be a barrier to anything I want to do. Shopping, travel, physical activities, nada. That is my ultimate goal.

S.

You say that, but my THICK muscular calves are annoying at times! That being said, I have some 10's that are big on me and still some 12's that fit perfectly! sizing in this country drives me BATTY!

I don't want to get stuck on a number either-as far as my goal weight. I already changed it from 130 to 135 a while back. But who knows, that may change again. But I can certainly understand why onederland is a goal! Can't wait for you to get there.

I like this thread because it helps me to process my goals in my own mind.
I am at 162.8 this morning(so basically, 163)

My first Short term goal is to be 149 by April 5. I know that's a number, but the reason is because I really want to wear a dress on National go for Broke Day. The reason I picked that number is because it is 14 pounds from where I am now, and my calves really need to get thinner before I will feel comfortable at all in a dress. I think my body loses weight from the top down, I don't know how much more my weight loss can suck from my upper half! I am hoping it wil trickle down to the calf area by 149.

2nd goal is once I get to 149, so start doing some toning. I don't want to do too much yet at that point because I am always afraid I will get too bulky(I know that is probably irrational). So I will start doing some toning when I reach 149.

I want to see how these first to go before I set ay more.

Reading this got me thinking about my goals. And it made me refigure my BMI and how many pounds I have until I'm no longer considered "obese". I thought it was 26, apparently its only 16. Evidently I can't do math.
So that means I'm almost 1/2 way there with a loss-to-date of 13.6#.
So, I'd like to no longer be obese by the end of April. I think, I hope, that's do-able!!!!

Well, I want to get out of my current stall and start losing again and then ...

First goal: To be below 175 (and past my darn set point at around 180)
Second goal: 169, no longer obese
Third goal: 141, normal weight
Fourth goal: Anywhere from 135 to 125, depending on how my clothes fit. (I have lots of older size 8 professional clothes packed away)

Every new decade is a mini goal for me, too, and so is every inch off my waist and breasts. (My hips are always a size or two smaller than the rest of me.)

Congratulations to everyone who has made so much progress (and to those who have even met their goals). This is an inspiring group.

LCG, thank you for starting this thread...it's helpful to me to read the posts because I have not even considered what a final goal should be...I'm still getting used to the fact that I can even lose weight again...I really had given up on it...my situation is a little different because of my very bad back..I can't lift anything over 10 lbs..(I do of course, but it's not smart)...finding this woe is bringing me a lot of other good things...like the bone broth..the resveratrol..and of course, the healthy eating...I used to eat a lot of prepackaged foods..or take out...but not much anymore..so, I have to say all in all, the things I am learning here are going to be much more help to me than just losing weight..sure, that's going to help my back a lot...a good guess for me would be to lose about 65 lbs...that would put me in pretty good condition..so,..Ill have to think about more exact goals, but right now I am grateful for all the help I'm getting.

Thanks, Soren, you are such a good kid..and we are going to make it to our goals, I believe that..I know some of the ladies on here have had to deal with some serious problems, and they are real inspirations...from all I read, doing this ADF is one of the best things we can do for our overall health..even if we have a bad day with food, we can always start again tomorrow.

I started in July at 180.

My next goal is to reach 155, aiming for the 31st of this month which is my birthday
After that, I hope to be at 150 by Thanksgiving, and then a birthday present to myself will be 145 by Christmas!
That has been my goal from the beginning, but I'll reevaluate on New Years Day whether to maintain or continue into the 130s.

I love seeing these older threads again and seeing some goals reached! Here's my update:

197 - too close to Onederland, I know, but at this weight I will be in obesity category 1 according to the BMI. Goal reached!
185 - no longer obese (in overweight category), large-frame adjusted BMI 8 pounds to go.
177.3 - 100 pounds lost - new goal, hoping to reach by Feb. 1
168 - no longer obese (in overweight category), regular BMI.
154 - no longer overweight (in "normal" category), large-frame adjusted BMI
140 - no longer overweight ("normal" category), regular BMI
135 - current goal: the weight at which I once felt was right. It was in college, but with lots of muscle from working out, more than I would probably have now. So I don't know if this is the right number now or not ... I have plenty of time to think about it as I get closer.

I wonder if I should have some sort of reward planned for reaching each of these goals? Probably it would be smaller clothes!

I found an old thread (general LC forum) I started ages ago about non-food rewards....

I'll think on this and come back to post. You guys are the best!

This is funny to re-read. I've been in 8s and 6s since about 160 or 155. I bought 10s and realized within a week they were actually baggy, so I sort of skipped the 10s and went right to 8s. 145ish now and my 6s are a tiny bit baggy in the butt.

I don't even know where to begin with a goal!

I guess my first set of goals would be:

-219 I haven't been under 220lbs since 2003!

-199 Onederland! It's a dream for me.. =D

-I just want to be "over weight" no more obese!

I don't have an ultimate end all be all number! So no clue as to what a final weight would be!
