Beverley you are rocking it my girl! That kind of compliment is so good as you realised. And not gaining over the holidays is a real triumph.

Dawn, as ever you are a shining example. Learning to see ourselves as others see us can be hard after losing as much weight as you have. I am so glad you are enjoying the exercise. I think I love you DH too.

LCG, Sven and other bony ladies, well done you. And Sven, bony and muscly, now you are just showing off, lol.

Yvonne that is such a great NSV. You should be very proud.

What a great victory and set of good choices. Absolutely admirable ; I can definitely imagine that setting off some regrettable emotional eating for me. I'll try to remember your good example.

I particularly need to work on upper-body strength; a few years ago I did a fitness assessment and scored in the top 10 percent (for women of my size) in lower body strength and in the bottom 10 percent in upper body/arm strength. So it's good to know that I'm making some visible progress there --though I've got a long way still to go.
Yahoo! Biceps and upper body strength and definition!

Yvonne & Svenskamae - great NSV's!!

I forgot a funny one I wanted to post. You know the potato chip bags that have the resealable zipper going across the top? I always wondered why the heck they put that on a potato chip bag. Who reseals the bag? Who has chips left to seal?
Well, I have sooooo much better appetite control now. On an up day, I can take out a serving (yes, one serving) of chips and reseal the bag for another day!!!! woo hoo.
That probably seems insane to some of you, but being able to control my eating is such a big deal to me. When people said to eat in moderation, I wondered what the heck was that ?
I used to have the mentality that whatever was before me, I needed to eat it. (except for people and small animals.)

They were Archer Farms brand that I got at Target.
I now love baked chips and the sea salt with vinegar is just lovely!

Thanks so much to you all for reminding me to focus more on the non-food rewards. I had fallen back into some bad habits over the holidays. Funny how that craving/obsession monster rears its ugly head if we give it but the least little opportunity.....

Wow, Beverley I am with you, I am astonished that you have accomplished this feat of self control. I am sure I couldn't do that....

And there are still days when small animals are not safe from me.

I'm like Dawn! I haven't seen the resealable potato chip bags! I need to make a Target list, too! But, I buy Pringles low fat & take out a serving & close it up. Never thought I could.

Chips with a zipper top are a great idea--I don't buy chips very often, because I eat too many. But having the zipper top will probably make me think I'll eat less, because I can just zip up the top of the bag. Sadly, the top unzips as easily as it zips up, I'm sure, and I'd be back at it again.

I have an NSV--for the first time in a long time. Two actually. Both clothes related. The first one is wearing tight leggings and knee-high boots with a sweater that comes down to just below my butt. I've never thought I had good legs, but now, with the weight loss and the exercise, I have good enough legs, at least for this! DH thinks I look hot!

The second one is my coat. I bought a size large coat at Old Navy last year, and this year when winter weather rolled around I pulled it back out again and I just swim in it. I didn't want to buy a new one because of the cost, but I really did want a new one because it looked and felt terrible.

We went into a thrift store yesterday and I started trying on coats. All the mediums were too large on me! I finally found a coat that I liked, size small!!! I'm not really small, I'm wearing a 12. I would say it's vanity sizing, but all the mediums were too big and several of the smalls fit just fine, so I don't think it's just the one jacket.

Anyway, it's cute and it's warm and it was only $15 for a very nice jacket. And so I turned around and donated the old size large to the thrift store. Yay!!

This made me think of the Cheetos I bought on Tuesday (UD), one of my favorite snack foods. I only ate one serving and put the chip clip on them. Today I took out another serving for my lunch (with a sandwich). I never really sat down and ate an entire family size bag, but it wouldn't last more than a couple of days...I guess I am more in control of my appetite too!

LOVE cheetos! I usually avoid buying them, but I have done pulled out a serving size and just added the cals now, too. It's awesome to be able to do that!

I am so happy for all the NSVs over here this week! It is JANUARY for crying out loud, and look how amazing everyone has done over the holidays. I always think of NSVs in, oh, say, MARCH. LOL!!! WTG!!!!!!!!!

Cheetos are one of those things that I can get carried away with awake! I have not bought a big bag since February 2012! If I want them really bad I get 1 50 cent snack bag.

In one of Yam Yam's older threads I wrote that I had 20 pounds of collateral damage from Cheetos!!!!!
