Congratulations, windy - white pants in a 10 and a dance with the cute cute guy you've always had a crush on!

I've just started this journey but I have been mostly low carb for over a decade and paleo for a few years. I lost weight initially, then lost my mind long enough to regain what I had lost, and have struggled since. Low carb makes me feel great but I've had a hard time with getting a grip on my eating. I began mild intermittent fasting (16/8) a few weeks ago and it seemed to help somewhat.

So I decided to start JUDDD last week to restrict my eating further. The effect has been fantastic so far. I actually feel full at the end of a meal and am not tempted to keep eating or to snack between meals. Phew. I was just drinking some hot chocolate after my breakfast and suddenly felt satisfied about 2/3 of the way through. I don't even need to finish it. This is practically unheard of for me.

I had a feeling that my overeating was related to hunger hormones or satiety hormones or something physical. This re-confirms it. When I was overeating it was usually stomach hunger, not psychological hunger. I've attended about 8 overeaters anonymous meetings in the past month and read a bunch of their literature, thinking that maybe I'm not being honest with myself, but none of it resonates with me. I had a gut feel that my overeating is prompted by some hormonal wackiness, now I'm even more sure of it.

Yay JUDDD! (in combination with low carb paleo for me)

We went to see my mother today and I looked around at some of her pictures that I hadn't really paid attention to recently, and boy have I changed! Bf said, you look like you're half that size now. Hardly, but still it sure is nice to see it for myself.

Windy - soooooo exciting about those size 10's! Woo hoooooo! And cute crush-guy asking you to dance - I'm so glad you had a wonderful time!

Allison - I'm so glad JUDDD is feeling right and helping you with your eating. I feel the same way - I just feel differently about food and eating now, and I never, ever thought that would be possible. WTG!

Cindy - when you can see it for yourself in pictures, it really drives it home. How great! And wonderful for BF to say so. You're doing it girl!

I have an NSV that means so much to me!

A little background here--- I have had a very difficult summer. The company that manufactured my thyroid meds pulled the drug and I needed to find another doctor and switch meds. The initial med that I tried caused a severe allergy that required steroid treatments and a 10 pound weight gain. The next one is working well but it takes forever to get the dose ramped up to the right number. I have spent most of the summer in a deep mental funk (very common with hypothyroidism) and have been unable to lose any weight despite sticking to rotations. I haven't even been successful in dropping all ten steroid pounds.

We had a picnic get together with 3 other couples who are very close, long term friends. We don't live near each other now we don't get together very much.

One of the women in the group who has gained about 50 pounds in the last several years was so motivated that she called me a few days ago to tell me she was on her second DD and had a couple of questions. She feels it's very do-able for her and my success was what had motivated her to give it a try!

That was one of my very first hopes when I first started JUDDD and saw some early results....that maybe, eventually, my success would help some others who were struggling.

So even though right now I don't feel very successful, I am thrilled to know that even with my current issues that I am motivating to others that I love!

How cool is that?

Kimmie

Kimmie, you are such a sweet, supportive, wonderful person...I do not doubt for a second that you inspire many people in your day to day life! You do here! I'm so sorry this has been a rough summer, but I am so tickled to hear that you're able to maintain rotations despite all you have going on! Obviously good things are happening if your friend noticed a difference despite the evil, stupid scale. I am also sure your body is benefitting nicely from rotations! Now that you're working on the dosage with the right meds, you'll be back to dropping the weight you want! YOU GOT THIS!!!! Keep on keeping on and keep that wonderful spirit going girl! Your friends are blessed to have you!

Kimmie, that really is one of the best NSVs I've read! It is an amazing feeling when you can really help or inspire someone else, and you do it every day and probably don't even realize it. What a wonderful thing for your friend!

I'm so sorry this has been such an ordeal for you. It's something I wouldn't even think to worry about - pulling of a drug that's really working - but I see it's possible. I'm just sorry it's so difficult to replace that therapy. Hang in there and you'll be losing again, I have no doubt!

A very weird one here.

I've been feeling huge and bloated and icky for a couple of weeks, about since my car accident, so I assume that has something to do with it.

I finally made it to the chiropractor after work yesterday, and he decided I needed x-rays, so he sent me to the clinic. It took FOREVER. The tech had to reshoot a couple of them, and then apologized to me and informed me she was having to use a special technique because I'm so "tiny!" At 5'9", I don't think I've been called "tiny" in my adult life. I think she was just slow and making excuses, but whatever. I'll take it!

(As an aside, the tech was maybe 5'2" and a tiny bit chunky, but in a pleasant way. She has the body I used to dream of--"if I could only be as thin as her, I'd be sooo happy!" IIYKIM)

Dawn, you are definitely teeny tiny. Own that victory!

Yesterday morning I was getting ready and so excited to put on a new dress that I brought for cheap at Old Navy back in July. It was strapless and fell right off. I was bummed at the time because I never wore it. It was 3am and the dress that I planned to show up at a party in and of course all the cute stuff was already packed in the car. Then I looked in the mirror at myself and said "Woo hoo." I literally screamed that at the top of my lungs. The dress was cute and I guess I'll donate it to one of my clients, but it gave me the motivation to definitely maintain rotations while on vacay.

Feeling confident enough in JUDDD - I shopped end of summer clearance online - I ordered medium tops, really believing I would be able to wear them next year, as I don't intend to gain back my loss.

So I opened the packaging and thought - wow they look really small.... but tried one on to see how much I'd need to still lose to fit them - and you guessed it.... They FIT! Wow - last purchase for a t-shirt was XLarge... I skipped right by Large! I plan to wear one of them to a Labor Day picnic this weekend! Whoot!!!
