I had to actually re-read that to get it!

DH got a job today! so I of course stopped at the store for a new top (or 2 ) for the conference next week, specifically for the "gala"... which is a huge party, and there's an awesome band this year (anyone remember CAKE? so excited )

ANYway-- we can "dress as though we're going out on a Friday night" per the marketing team. And they mentioned "bling"... and I don't have any really funky tops...

Ok, long and short of it is-- even though I've been barely squeaking by the last few weeks-- I fit into 1X tops (and not 2X).

I tried 2X in 2 tank-top type shirts (one has sequins, the other is lace with a peplum) and they were visibly gaping where the arm-meets-bust area.

The 1x is more form fitting, but fit better in that area. I liked both tops so I got them both

um... and a 3rd one that was only 14$ after sale price and 30% off

yay!
S.

p.s. I pinned them to my pintrest-- it's the black tanktop with sequins and the black lacy one with the peplum waist.

Cute tops Soren! I hope you have fun at the blowout. You'll look great!

I just learned "peplum" a week or so ago, watching What Not To Wear. I love that show, and I think I've learned a lot about what to shop for when I get serious about getting some new clothes.

Sounds lovely, Soren! I'm jealous of the awesome sales too!

LCG, I almost bought a pair of teal cowboy boots today. I believe they would tell me that was a "what NOT to wear". I'm not even a cowboy boots girl, but I love these.

Those boots sound great Cindy! I'm no Stacy London, but I think with the right outfit, they'd be great.

Oh, we wear the same size

Soren the tops are cute! I OD'ed on peplum tops at Joyce Leslie. I got 6 or 7 since they were 12.97! Have a great time at the Gala. Ours in on 5/21 and this year I think, due to my promotion I may be going more as a guest and less as a servant... I need a dress!

I have another NSV, related to my last: I was able to slip off my work pants without unbuttoning or unzipping them last night. I think it's time to move down to the next smaller size in my closet! Woohoo!

Pants on the ground, pants on the ground, need new pants with your pants on the ground

Wtg Jen! That's my test too! Love it!

Thanks everyone, very excited for this conference, getting my course done (2days), and my 3 presentations done.

I hope to have a Nsv for you by next Friday that I didn't eat my face off all week!

I got a shock this morning, and I'm totally taking it as a NSV!

I'm about 20 lbs higher than my all time low of 155 two summers ago.

This morning, I was in the shower and felt something weird on my hips. Had never felt them before. It was... Hip bones!!! I've been marveling over my collar bone reappearance but never in my life have I ever felt my hip bones without quite a lot of pushing. I'm an hourglass so I've always carried weight in my hips, and always thought my shape would prohibit my hip bones from ever being felt. I didn't feel them 20 lbs lighter without, again, pushing. This has made pants difficult because muffin top was always a problem because of the padding there.

I almost have hip bones. I'm in shock!
