I'm feeling SO much better!
I have a degenerative brain disease called Spinocerebellar Ataxia (SCA), and my Cerebellum, the lower back part of my brain, is degenerating, which causes, for me, lack of balance while walking or standing, very hard-to-read shaky hand-writing, and general lack of coordination, including slurred speech when I'm tired. Before anyone feels sorry, ! it does NOT hurt and it will NOT cause me to die and things with me could be so much worse physically! I count my blessings often and wait to see how God will use me next

That said, I wanted to share that I was taken off my blood pressure medicine this week and I want to go see my neurologist now, because I am feeling *SO* much better, as far as my balance while walking and standing, and I'm sleeping very well! ADF (what JUDDD is, and how I'm living) RE-GROWS brain cells! I know it can't cause my cerebellum to grow back, but I believe, because of the way I'm feeling and the articles I've read about IF (Thank you, Sunday!) that fasting this way is that the degeneration stops

My bra that I'm wearing today is on the last hooks. It was so tight before I started losing, I was uncomfortable and had red marks around my body when I took it off in the evenings.

Bows, that is incredible!! I posted in the thread you started, but want to say again how inspiring that is. Truly amazing.

My bras aren't that too small for me yet BUT I did notice that I'd worn my white one all day the other day (like, 9pm I finally took it off) as opposed to needing to take it off the second I walked through my door because it was boring into me. I liked that!

I was going to post today anyway in this thread. I have a pair of Duburry boots I use at the barn, but don't ride in - they're the before & after. I've always had "fat calves" so when I got these boots they were pretty snug at the top and sometimes hard to get on. They've stretched a bit but...

Traditionally the hardest time for me to get them on is post-ride, my legs swell and I can't get the boots back on! Lots of tugging and stomping and swearing ensues. Today I pulled them right on, no problems, and noticed there may be starting to be ever so slight a gap at the top of the boot! I'm never going to be one of those girls who is swimming in her Dubarry's but not having them cut into my legs anymore is pretty cool!

JMBM, it's the price we've gotta pay, I guess, to get the rest of us smaller! Great indication that things are happening! And way more comfortable too to not be squished in so tight.

My NSV for the day involves us going to see my first grader in a school play. My 2 year old was acting up so DH took her out to calm her down and let her run. When he came back he couldn't find me!!! Apparently he walked past me several times but had forgotten "how skinny I look" and was instead looking for the big fat women holding his kid I guess

I love to read these NSV...and last week when I was just down about the scale not moving, I went back for over a year and read the NSV..it was so comforting.,I could see where so many or you that have had good success were in the past and how you were dealing with things....very well, I might add., ..so..this is a wonderful thread to have for inspiration...............Oh..Carly.
I thought that new avi was just lovely...and what struck me was that you looked so happy..then I said...and..wow..she has great taste in clothes too.

All the belt stuff made me laugh. My "goal" present to myself is going to be a black leather belt with 2 personalized name plates - one for each of my competition horses. Its kinda a trendy, fashion thing for riding. I looked into getting myself one from a popular company when I was placing orders for Christmas. Their largest belt would have been 2" too short for me but it was part of the nudge I needed to get this under control!

Oh I cannot wait to join all you lovelies with a NSV...Last Thurs I bought a pair of super cute jeans that were on sale and 2 sizes smaller than I wear today....that is my next goal to get in them....hope i can report soon that they fit...you all are so inspiring and encouraging, I cannot wait to post that they fit...<3

Jen, I bet you are looking great in those boots. I remember the joy of being able to buy regular boots not 'fat calf' ones.

I think a comfortable bra is such a great feeling. If I need to take mine off before bedtime I know it is time to get tough with myself.

Carly I loved the Avi too. I wrote somewhere else that you looked like a doll in a Dolls House. Such a pretty polka dot dress.

Try them on frequently. The inches can really melt even when the scale is slow. I missed entire sizes!

Carly-I love your avi! Is it a dress? I sooo want to wear lots of dresses this summer. So cute and fun. When I don't feel good about my weight it's all about the 'hiding clothes'.

That is actually a blouse. So is the one in my profile pic. I usually wear them with skirts, but with slacks sometimes, too. I have a lot of trouble getting dresses since my top half and bottom half don't wear the same size!

It's nice to be able to put together a great outfit like that..Carly.I'm glad you have stayed around to help us too.... it takes a lot of motivation to stay with a plan long term...lots of different kinds too....even to improve a person's pain and discomfort because I can look at it like...well..I kinda hurt all over anyway so why go hungry?...This is the first time , since my pain got so bad that I can really see some improvement, so I try to keep focused on all of the good reasons to eat right..as they say here..the time is going to pass anyway, and now I can see that if I don't try, I will be in the same place after another year has passed for me....for the people on here who have achieved goal, I imagine you have had to make a lot of adjustments because of that too...so it's such a complicated process, sometimes, to stay motivated, and adjust,,,and let's face it that's why so many people don't do it..with all the good info and hope that's found here, we have a great chance to lose the weight that will improve our lives.....I just love reading all of the NS victories.

Janette, this is one of my most desired goals-to wear lots of dresses THIS summer. And you know what? I have been saying that 10 years in a row-but have not accomplished it yet. But This year will be different It is very very motivating seeing other JBs accomplishments
