my new dress and an old coat

ok this coat is kind of crazy, James Brownish

, but it is suede and the liner with the feathery collar comes out, and it is one of my big purchases from when I was at goal weight about 5 or 6 years ago... and although I am still a little ways away from goal, I was able to wear it out last night, just a little tight.

the dress is new, and a gift from BF... stretchy and comfy actually, and I put my hair up and earrings on for the first time in ages... so nice to be feeling foxy again

... Thank you so much JUDDD and you buds, these boards, because none of my other many efforts over the last 4 years have given me a WOE that worked and I could stick with.

I feel pretty dang smiley with all these lovely compliments and congrats (plus on Facebook)... and what is very appreciated and even healing about this, is how when I was married, my exH was so unable to express any enjoyment of my success (in fact, I think he was very threatened), so getting dolled up was not something we could celebrate together (short, sad, true story from when I was first at goal during a December: me in a size 4 black beaded evening mini-skirt with a nice red blouse... him, no comment... me, aren't you going to say anything?... him, I'm sure you will get lots of compliments at the party... one more nail in the coffin of our marriage

). Happily, I am now with a lovely dear man

who is very proud to have me on his arm, and showers me with compliments, even when I have bedhead and ratty stuff on, but especially when I have gone to some effort

Phyl, I am 5'5"... And wearing size 6 and some 8... I am always heavy for my size (muscles?). I am about 12 lbs from goal (139)... Hope to be there by mid April, back into size 4/6.

Toora...Thanks!...it's so interesting because I am also 5' 5" and have always been heavy for my size too.

I am probably much older than you, but have wondered about muscles being the answer, as I have always tried to stay active over the years..walking, riding bikes, and swimming...with the exception of some health probs from time to time.

I will be 60 in a few weeks and not really super athletic, but wanted to remain active for the sake of keeping up with my granddaughter that we raised (who just turned 14...yikes)

I have been in maintenance since last April, staying in the 135-139lb. range. It irks me that my clothes are anywhere from 4's to 8's, but we have no control over that!!

Lately I put myself back in WLM thinking I still want to be at about 125 to 130, but will be stopping if I start looking too shrivelled!!!
