Wow 2nd DD was tough....

But I made it and I'm 2 lbs lighter. I'm hoping these DD's get a bit easier. I mean, it wasn't horrible but all I kept thinking about was food! I think that was the hardest part. It probably didn't help that I started watching the food network.... Ugh. However, I gotta say I'm excited! I really do think that this WOE is something I can keep up with. During particularly hard times, I made another cup of coffee, and came back to this board and read read read.

Great job Katina! You did it just right. This board was a life saver for me in my first few weeks. Actually, it still really keeps me going at week 14. And congratulations on those 2 pounds! You're doing fantastic!

It really, truly, honestly does get so much easier. Push through those first hard DDs and you'll be so very rewarded for your efforts and persistence.

YESH U!
Yes it does get easier.
I try to think positively on both days.
DD I think how good it is for my guts to have a break.
And remember broth helps tremendously. A little hug in your tummy.
The cube broth took me a long time to adjusts to the flavor- ugh. Now I like it.
Grew on me! In a good way.smile.
Plus I don't want to say.
IT'S A KNEW DAY-Day 1 for my first dd. boooo
day one of a dd. no way.

They only get easier, and the UDs make them so worth it! WTG!

Sorry it was rough-my first few days I had had the most vivid dreams of food  Also, starting out you do want to avoid food triggers like the food network. For me, when I first started, I could not burn food scented candles on my DDs lol. Now it's no big deal to have a peppermint or pumpkin candle going, but those first few DDs it triggered cravings :p

congrats on losing 2 lbs! I find that with DDs you get used to the feeling of not being full - and thus they get wayyy easier!

It really helps you listen to your body more :) your doing great ..keep it up!

Congratulations on a great beginning to the rest of your skinny, healthy life!

Many of us find DDs get much easier once the SIRTs get their act together. They improve from 'survivable' to 'survivable with cooking channel' to 'oh, is someone baking cookies/veggie lasagna/etc? I hadn't noticed - save me some for tomorrow' to 'except for special events, I wish every day could be DD'

I was with you up until "except for special events, I wish every day could be DD".

Yep  that one does not get as many advocates and the levels before it. And it does have a respectful opposition.

Most DD days the only thing that keeps me going is knowing a UD is just around the corner. Some DD's are easier than others for me. This WOE has so many benefits that make the DD's all worth it. When I think about eating too much on a DD, I think about the rest I am giving my body by not filling it with food.

I come here often and read read read. It keeps me going with the going gets tough too, Katina.

Welcome to the best bunch of people on the forum. JUDDD BUDDDS are the best!

It's going to get a lot easier. But there are going to be some rough days when it feels like the clock is moving too slow and your body is going to force you to find food porn as a substitute for what you can't have.

I spend a lot of late night DD's looking at recipes on Pinterest :P

I haven't quite reached that stage yet!! But, Katina, DD's do indeed get easier. Occasionally I still have one that is hunger driven! Most of them I do just fine! You'll get there, too!

KatinaZ25 12-14-2012 07:54 PM

Thanks everyone! I am looking forward to an easier DD TOMORROW. Hopefully... LOL

Try little or no carbs tomorrow. For me, that's the easiest way to get through the day. The carbs just fuel my appetite/cravings.

Another thing that helped me in the beginning was taking an appetite suppressant. I did that in the beginning when I was afraid. I don't feel a need for them anymore. Also, if you like diet pop with caffeine, I did a lot of that in the beginning, just to get through the down days.

Now, since I'm watching the carbs, those down days aren't quite so depressing. :D

Hope your DD went well today!:console:

KatinaZ25 12-15-2012 03:02 PM

Hi! Thank you for asking! Today is going great! I'm so shocked! I'm having no issues at all!!

You guys were right. It does get easier.

Katina
