Need to get things "moving"
I am probably at least 2 lbs heavier than I would be if I could GOoooo.
![]() What do you suggest? Dirt? How does it taste, and where can I get it (cheap)? I am so resistant to taking supplements, but I need some relief!!!![]() |

I feel your pain!
Going on 3 days (at least) of sluggish plumbing myself, made worse due to a condition I'm too embarrassed to divulge. At any rate, I finally started taking my Calcium/Magnesium/Zinc caps (about to take my 3rd one of the day) which usually help tremendously. Milk of Magnesia, if I didn't have the supplement, would be my next option. I've tried Colace before, but I reacted badly to it. Most people don't, so it may be something to look into. I'm also extremely lactose intolerant, so another thing I sometimes try is ingesting dairy without lactase enzyme supplements (Lactaid)...it's a guaranteed trip to the restroom. And if that fails me, spinach will do the trick. I love it, but whoo lordy does it do a RotoRooter on me.

How do you take it Kristin, how much, and how does it taste? Do you recommend it over probiotics and magnesium? I never had trouble before dieting. This is new, and not welcome.

I eat a tablespoon or two of coconut butter (Artisana brand) and take magnesium. I hope you feel better soon.

I started eating 2 prunes a night. I happen to like them though. But I havent had any probs since. I had tried a little of everything.....well except for dirt....just cant bring myself to try it.....but yes prunes.....work like a charm!

Need a bag of those Katie. I meant to buy metamucil last night but I couldn't bring myself to do it. I think I'd rather eat a fruit or veg that helps.

try the prunes then. Two at night and by morning they work! The two nightly came about after I had to eat a ton of them to get moving again. The two now are just to keep it moving! I used to do metamucil but after a while the whole thing gets to me.....Hate drinking it! Tried the fiber pills but I think they actually stopped me up more! My mom said to do prunes or apricots...I dont like apricots much so went with the other!

I'm on my 2nd piece of malitol candy. I hope it isn't too late in the evening, lol. I know it works because I ate about 6 of these babies in a staff meeting one afternoon and could hardly make it home!

I found the best info on the main board right here at Low Carb Friends!
Get some Organic Apple Cider Vinegar, the one with the "mother" in it. Put 2 tablespoons in a large glass, one packet of splenda or sugar, fill glass with water and drink! Has worked like a charm for me for over 6 months now!!! I use warm water, but you can use cold too. I drink it with a straw too! Then i drink one more glass of water. I do this first thing in the morning. You can buy Organic ACV at Wally-World, where the other brands of vinegar are, under $6.00 for a quart! This info is just the very best thing that has happened to me here at JUDD. I have had problems for years, but no more!!!! As of the last month or so I now take just 1 tablespoon and that is doing the job too! Good Luck and let me know what works for you! Leona

Leona, how long did it take to work? I am open to trying something every day, but I need some immediate relief, if you know what I mean, lol. I have ACV, but it might not be organic. I think it has a mother in it, but probably because it's so old.

Leona, do you have Wal-Mart? You should be able to buy it there, Nature Made is pretty common. In fact, just about any CVS or Wallgreens should have it too.

I felt a bit nauseus after reading that Kristin, lol. I'm not sure I'm ready to hit the dirt.
It's been in the back of my mind for some time now, so maybe I'll ease into it...after trying everything else. I've read a bit about that suppl on here somewhere, and I also want to get some for my dogs, whether I eat it or not. |

Yeah, dirt. There's a HUGE thread here on diatomaceous earth, which sounds a lot prettier than dirt, but that's what it is.

I used to use it in my garden (not the food grade type) for slugs. It's fossilized diatoms (type of algae), high in silica.
