Today's UD started out as a 1 with a half of a doughnut, 4 holiday cookies and a handful of Chex mix. Now that's the breakfast of champions

But the rest of the day has been pretty good so all said and done I'd rate it a 3

Yummy. I think this is the first "balanced" UD meal I've cooked.

Awh Rayne, December can really be tough, especially with the focus on family & loved ones... It can really bring the sadness out.

And Sara I love to see an improvement in the day's numbers This woe really lets us redeem ourself meal-by-meal. Yay.

Yes they do, am I allowed to post the link? Well just google Greencastle and coffee roasters. They also have a coupon for $1 off per pound, no limit, in their coupon section. It's also an Asian store and I believe they have other things for sale on their website too.

My UD is going well, drinking Highlander Grogg coffee with HWC today

My UD started last night around Midnight with a sleeve of Ritz and some peanut butter . I think my downfall was eating too many sweet things on my DD (still mostly under 500). Going to do a potato DD tomorrow. I'd rate my UD about a 2. Pretty sure I'm over my calories and it's only 2:00 pm

Me a 4!
I'm afraid to get cockie and say 5!
May Jinks myself. Smile
I was wanting to cook dried pinto beans and jiffy cornbread for our evening meal.
Another fav of mine.
No pinto beans in cabinet. Found black eyed peas! That-a-work. So I'm a little early on New Years days traditions of black eyed peas. Good day. Love all beans.

I know UD's are supposed to be joyous, and I do look forward to them on DD's, but I'm having trouble reigning myself in from overeating. Which has been okay weight-wise, but kind of terrible in how I feel overall. Just super bloated and not good. I'm sure it's what I'm choosing to eat, since chocolate and cakes and cookies are all around now. I guess I just have to be more selective about what I choose to eat on my UD's. Today is a 2. The food was yummy but the sickly feeling afterward not so much.

Me too. The high calories don't bother me as much as ending the day feeling sick and like my choices were unsatisfying. I'm trying to cut myself some slack since most of it is being triggered by holiday occasions, but after another week of this I'll be happy to get back to more "normal".

Today is still too early to rate...no appetite yet. Planning pasta for dinner tonight, but everything else is up in the air at this point.

You should get a commission Zag! I just placed an order for a whole bunch of their sampler sizes so I can pick which I like best. Coffee keeps me going on DDs, so this is how I'm justifying the extravagence. Plus, I'll bet these will be amazing on UDs with HWC!

Highlander Grogg coffee makes me think of an Amazon warrior. I think I need some of that on DD.

I also perused the Greencastle website...will definitely be ordering samples after the holidays!

Day is ending at about a 4. Had 2 crispbreads with Alouette cheese for lunch, wound up having 3 slices of cheese pizza for dinner. Just finished a mug of Ghirardelli chocolate mocha cocoa, and I'm full.

...with 180 cals to spare.

That's awesome you guys checked them out, they really are a cool little shop! They even roast peanuts there, so you can buy them warm by the bag
I buy tons of the decaf flavors too, just to be able to drink them at night LOL
LCG, you'll have to let me know what flavors you ordered to try, I've tried a gazillion. Only a few I don't care for. Most are very good.

My DD started at 5, but quickly went to a 1, I started to feel shaky and weird so I had to eat something much earlier than usual. I felt much better then and was able to stick to the rest of the day. First time I ever felt like that, I think it's because yesterday I didn't eat late like I usually do, so I didn't have much left to hold me over.

OH oops, I'm in the UD thread, nevermind my DD comment! LOL

Zag, I can't wait to get my order! I got Apple Strudel, Banana Nut, Chocolate Fudge, Cinnamon Spice, English Toffee, Irish Eggnog, Peppermint Stick, Snicker Cookie, Lisa's Winter Wonderland, Gingerbread. YUMMY!

Forgot to update yest. UD started with some Christmas goodies (baaad) but I called a halt mid-morning and let those calories fill me til a super duper veg-laden dinner. I was happy with that; would never have managed to stop myself pre- JUDDD so a glimmer of hope for the rest of the Christmas season. Finished the evening with wine & chocolate of course but there you go! A 4.

-1 I was really looking forward to having a couple of coconut macaroon christmas cookies with my coffee this morning for breakfast, after being tempted by them last night on my DD...but within 20 min. of eating them, I have a splitting headache and feel nauseous!

The good thing is next DD when I'm lying in bed and my stomach is growling, while I obsess about some sugary treat that I am tempted to eat...I will hopefully remember this very important lesson that I just learned.

Those flavors sound absolutely delicious! Peppermint stick? I might have to check this place out.

I'm sorry it made you feel sick! Haha this happens to me sometimes but I can never seem to believe or remember it on my DD's.

Today's UD I'm going to be really careful with calories and carbs. Have a nice salad planned for lunch. And will not eat half a bag of sweet potato chips today, unlike my last UD!

I actually haven't tried all of those! Of the ones I did, Apple, Eggnog, Lisa's and Gingerbread I liked. I don't like some of their fruit ones like Orange and Cherry, they just taste off. Not a fan of Toasted Chestnut either, unless I put lots of HWC with it lol.
Highlander Grogg, Hawaiian Hazelnut, Chocolate Hawaiian Nut, Lisa's, and Apple Strudel are my faves.
I'm curious about the peppermint one too, give us your review when it's brewed

My UD is going nicely, Started with a couple of slices of a lovely dense bread I like, well toasted with butter and Marmite.

Then while preparing some bone broth (goose carcass) and cooking a vegetable curry for tonight, I nibbled at a few odds and ends from our 'pretend' Xmas meal last Saturday, not a lot though.

Tea time I had a 40 calorie hot chocolate and a mince pie.

I am now looking forward to my curry with some rice and papadoms.

I think a 4, as I had to fight the greed monster a bit while cooking. But I won.

Noon here on my UD-4 hate to boost to load.
Lunch whole cold grapefruit 80 cal.
with cheddar shredded cheese 100 cal.
So tasty, the cheese cuts down on the tart fruit.
Also very pretty! Total 180 so far.
Dinner thinking left over corn CHIPS , chili more cheese.
My friend dropped by this morning with a potted plant she put together and
A food treat. saltine crackers- butter- pecans - beautiful shiny coating of glaze!
So I put the crackers in the cabinet until later tonight. I get two! Smile

Even though I'm sure I exceeded my UD calories by a long shot ("ooooh, Christmas candy!!"), I'm giving the day a solid 5.

How can a day that ends with chocolate be bad?

I really wanted to keep this UD within calories, but I don't know if that's going to be possible.

There are 3 holiday parties at work today, and when the first ended all the leftovers were brought out. I tried to be good and only had 1/4 of a donut and a very thin slice of German chocolate cake. But the ginger cookies are calling out to me!

There's going to be another party tonight, where there will be wine and food. I've got about 800 calories left, so I'm sure I'll go over. But I have to admit, it's just...fun to eat! And not stress about it and not hate myself for it.

4.5 there.
I'm doing fine.
I had a great 400 cal dd yesterday. Not really aiming there either.
Drank broth thru the day and an apple, chicken salad in the evening, no problems.
Lets enjoy Dec 24-25 it ones once a year, oh, then NY
Eve too!
With confidence that those holiday treats don't last for ever!
