I'M GETTING MARRIED!!!
Hey Judd Budds! 4th of May 2013, the date is set, reception booked, and finally.... I chose my dress last week! So excited and stressed but it only happens once (hopefully..).
I hope to make some alterations closer to the date...... (even though my mum says it will save me $500 if I stay the same but IMO, it would be totally worth it!) Anyways, just thought I'd share my news, I share everything else with you! :hugs: |

Thanks everyone! Carly - In Austrailia its the end of Spring (or fall I think you call it) so we are crossing our fingers. Melbourne is a funny place temp-wise, so heres hoping!

We got married in an Irish autumn- it rained for the morning and just when we needed it a beautiful blue sky broke through and we held our ceremony outside. We all had muddy shoes going home that night but you can't win 'em all :hyst: Enjoy the planning & all the excitement... It's magic! |
WONDERFUL NEWS!! Congratulations! Happy Dance for happily ever after!
The week before we got married there was a freak ice storm. (Okay, we got married in January. But, in Atlanta snow that stays on the ground more than a few days is unusual. And ice storms are devastating.) Many roads were still closed on the big day so we weren't sure we could actually make the drive to the church. The minister was waiting in the parking lot to tell me the church had moved an elderly couple (he was on oxygen), five dogs, three cats, and six birds into the main chapel; and another elderly couple and their seven visiting grandchildren were in the little chapel - both couples' homes had been crushed by falling trees. We got married in the Boy Scout hut out back. After the service all the attendees got up, put away the folding chairs, carried tables and food in for the reception, and started dancing. All of the stranded strangers attended (including two dogs and all the grandchildren... who really had a good time.) It was lovely. Have a great time planning. And, when the big day arrives, roll with the punches and know everything will be totally awesome ... or I'll tell the story of my sister's wedding. :hyst: |

My sons both chose to get married in December. The first one was nearly snowed off, as the church is at the top of one very steep hill, the reception was at the top of another and we're no longer used to having serious snow here in the UK. :eek: The second is next week, so our fingers are crossed.... :congrats: Enjoy your preparations in JUDDD serenity. :congrats: |

Cindy, it will depend on the weather - I have three different outfits lined up for the churchy bit, depending on whether it's cold, wet, windy or all three! I have a long floaty georgette dress for the reception, teamed with a satin jacket. I don't normally do dresses, strictly a jeans gal, so this is very serious stuff! |
