22 Weeks on JUDDD -- Into the Holidays We Go
You might notice that this weekly report is a day late. It's late, because I have no idea what I weigh. When I eagerly stepped on the scale yesterday, it would not turn on and my husband informed me that he believed the batteries were gone. So, I dunno. I was pretty sure it was going to be good, too, because I did see 256 this week, a new low. It might have been a two pound loss, but I guess we'll never know :P

Anyway, my novel is seven days overdue now and we're heading into the craziness of the holidays, so I should, if history is any guide, turn into a rebellious stress-eating machine. The month of December has always been a twisted, guilt-inducing, pleasure-soaked month of debauchery and self-recrimination. I have a feeling it's going to be different, this time.

I'm not counting at all on up days right now, which is bad. But I'm easily holding to DDs. I've probably entered a kind of maintenance phase. This is, as far as I'm concerned, totally fantastic. I am so grateful to JUDDD and all of you here who held my hand, that I have found a plan that has apparently become a lifestyle.

I'll check in again next week with a better post than this one!

This one was great- it so beautifly reflected the JUDDD calm;)

I am glad all is well! I guess except for the scale. You have such a relaxed confident approach to JUDDD now it is fantastic to see. I have been reading one of your books today on my ipad and popping in here off and on to see what is new and it was nice to see you update. Have a great week!

Congrats on your attitude. Taking some maintenance breaks is a great idea, in my opinion. And what better time than now! I know you will do just great. Thanks for posting your update. Good luck with finishing.......:high5:

Since I'm new to JUDDD, I don't know you well, Stephdray, but it sure sounds like you are experiencing some of that JUDDD calm in the face of deadlines and holiday challenges. I hope you have a great end of the year and great success wrapping up the book.

I almost posted yesterday, "Where's Steph?" because I have started to look for your Wed or Thurs posts. :D Looking forward to the next installment.

I'm glad you posted Steph. I had the feeling we might not hear from you with your book deadline and all. Sounds like you're working away on it, and working the JUDDD too. Maintaining would be a fantastic accomplishment in the face of all you have going on. I'll look forward to reading your post next week.

I finished Lily of the Nile last week and really loved it. I'm hooked, and now have to have the next book. I think I'm going to make sure someone gets it for me for Christmas. I passed on Lily to my mom, and she's reading it now and is loving it. Thanks for all your hard work and research, and your lovely writing style. You're providing hours of enjoyment and entertainment!

A beautiful example of JUDDD calm. I was much further into JUDDD than you are when my scale got flooded and died. I certainly wasn't calm, and ran out and bought a new scale ASAP! WTG Steph, on concentrating on what's really important. You :sing: !

I missed you! Glad you posted :)

Good to see you here, we all wait with baited breath for your update.

I am going to assume that new low will hold.

Love the calm in the face of the storm. Star JUDDDing.

Oh Stephanie! Reading that you are maintaining DDs and appropriately slipping into a kind of JUDDD calm induced zen maintenance during this doubly stressful time is, like, the best news I could wake to find.

Whatever you weigh, this has been one heck of a successful week!!

mykidsteacher 12-08-2012 02:25 PM

Agree that the success this week is maintaining you calm and handling dd's during this stressful time. Since most of the world gains about 7 pounds between Thanksgiving and New Year's, maintaining sounds like a win to me! And it will give your body a chance to adjust to all you've lost and get ready to drop more in the new year.

That is, of course, IF you aren't actually still losing, which is entirely possible. Either way, you are doing great!

I am new to JUDDD...and last night was a DD,..and I thought, as I was getting ready for bed...wow...I just felt kind of crappy today..but yesterday I felt so good....so..now..tonight I am also noticing that I feel so much better...calm..relaxed...I am beginning to suspect that maybe I'm going to feel very good on UD's...it will be great if I start feeling that good on DD...not sure how long that takes., but it is so worth the wait...I have so much to learn and I'm really learning a lot by reading the posts here...also have to say..what a nice group of people...I am sincerely impressed by all of the people who post here.

What a wonderful post to read before bed. thank you Steph! :)

I think that if we can make it through the holidays, sticking to DDs and not totally losing our minds on UDs, then that goes in the WIN column. January will be here soon enough and while everyone else is making promises they can NOT keep, all we have to do is count on our UDs again.

We don't even have to throw out the goodies or clean out the cabinets or swear off any one particular thing. OMG I love JUDDD so much.
