Update on JUDDDing daughter and stuff.
My daughter has been JUDDDing for 1 1/2 months and has lost 20#.
This is the first time she's been on the scale since starting and the time before was at her doc visit where she saw it written in her chart (they did not tell her, at her request). She has followed this plan to the letter and has still not changed EOD rotation....and she's a social person. Also has not had an UUAD, including T-day which actually turned out to be UD. I was just commenting in another Buds journal that keeping some sort of rotation over the holidays will keep us from losing our hard earned SIRT1 that way it'll be easier to get back after the season has ended. Even if it's higher cals on DD but still keeping a fairly wide range (1000/2000 for instance). IMHO. Hope you all are having a fun holiday season.

Your daughter is doing fantastic! What a wonderful thing for her. Yes, I think keeping rotations, at least most of the time, is really important for consistent losses. Congrats to you daughter for sticking with it!

Great for your daughter! That sounds like a really fast loss.
Is changing your rotation really that damaging? I just realized Christmas Day is a DD for me so I was thinking about doing a moderate day in between to shift rotations. |

I don't think changing rotations is that bad, but I wouldn't do it often. I've done two MDs to change rotations so far, and it's been just fine.

Jem, congratulations to your daughter!
![]() Deedee, I've had to shuffle my rotations more than I'd like, using the MD, UD, DD formula. It's been successful in that my weight has maintained and as soon as I got back to normal rotations, it's continued to lose. Once the sirtuin's well-established, JUDDD is very forgiving. ![]() |

Jem, I'm thrilled to hear how well your daughter is doing with her JUDDDing! And she is going to be thrilled when she gets to goal and gets to increase her Down Days to very reasonable 'lower' calorie days while still enjoying those great UDs. Giving her an online pat on the back. She's an inspiration to us all.

If X mas is not UD, I'm sure she'll change her rotation since she makes a Mexican dinner and everyone comes.
Don't know if she'll do a MD or just two DD. I can't imagine that she'll do two UD since she insists on such a strict rotation. She just grabbed onto this and it has been the best thing she's ever done. Peop are beginning to ask what she's doing. She has polycystic kidney disease which is hereditary and I'm hoping this will slow it down....If you don't know what this disease is, google images for a total shock!! |

Poot, I don't know if we'll ever know about the PKD unless it becomes emergent due to pressure on other organs or complete failure requiring dialysis.
Unless she has a specific complaint, they just watch her labs. Her grandmother from whom this disease came to her just died at 82. She had just started dialysis a couple months before.....the dialysis killed her causing cardiac failure. But she lived a very active life all those years!! Hard to know...some are getting a new kidney in their 30's. JUDDD is a healing woe so I am hopeful that the beast will stay far away. |

Oh my, what awesome results she is having! I sure hope this helps with her kidney health, too. I did google and sure am thinking of your sweet DD. Does she generally feel uncomfortable/in pain? So happy that she's found something that works for her and is helping! I am sure you are elated as well, momma!

So, chatting w my daughter this morning and she said she blew her DD yesterday.
I went into the talk re changing rotation now since that would make x mas UD (big Mexican feast). Then she tells me what she ate yesterday; Greek yogurt Deli turkey w mustard SF drinks at party ONE wing at party. Then she was hungry when she got home and ate 1/2 TJ's theatre popcorn!! I said WTH!! You probably didn't even go over your cals!! She's been at this for about 3 mos and is still finding it amazing how easy it is. The JUDDD magic is keeping her spirits high during separation, move and camping out in friends LR during X mas. |

I'm glad she is still loving JUDDD. I was very ridged about my JUDDDing up till this maintenance break and learned that JUDDD can be flexible- at least in maintenance, but I had to learn that for myself and when I was ready. I hope she will make Xmas an UD though. I will probably go back to being really strict with 20% WLM and UD/DD rotation in January, but it's great to know that it doesn't have to be that way- especially in maintenance.

Lucky for me, it has even resulted in losses when I thought for certain that I would be gaining. JUDDD is flexible. Jem, Great news to hear! I hope she checks in here and reads once in a while. It helps to understand that a bigger DD isn't the end. |

No, really, she is fine and not stressing about the higher DD.....just discussing. In fact, she doesn't seem to be stressed, at all, but I know her situation is difficult.
Carly, she will def have that Xmas dinner, but still wants to keep rotation BUT she did say that during this time she is not worrying about what to eat (there's only a microwave to cook with right now). Still, she feels that if she's not hungry, then why eat anything that does not have high appeal. She is front end manager in a large food coop (think Whole Foods but a coop), so food during the day is easy since everything under the sun is available and of quality. |
