Nancy...I'd rather have mine than yours. At least I can feel like I'm stabilizing. That old story is so true; if we all threw our problems into a pile and could choose any of them. We'd probably pick the ones we have over all the others.

I think this eye problem is getting to me as I'm starting to pig out on sugar stuff and not being too careful with the woe. Yesterday I swore I was hopping back on the trail and had only 340 kcals throughout the day...then after dinner, I went into the chocolate, nuts and had a glass of wine, too. The weight has been steady for six weeks, but went up a pound this week...grrrrrrr! I sent a bunch of sugar-stuff out of the house today and am thinking of clearing every last thing not on a lc plan outta the house.

Read an interesting book recently, stating that in essence there are only three diets...low carb, low calorie and low fat. When you think of it, that's true. All diets are just different ways of doing these. He also goes into cycling; cycling calories, cycling carbs...I don't think he mentions cycling fats, however. And that is the basis of JUDDD, calorie cycling. Very interesting concept and kinda well written.

I'm really thinking of going as low carb as I can to see if I can break my mental stall...I'm sure that's the real basis of my physical weight stall...my brain just ain't in it and I need a wake-up.

Total agreement on pics of the new baby goats! Kids are among the most adorable of the babies...especially when they start bouncing around.

Mary, like you I am addicted to reading and intensely visual in most of my hobbies. If I get to choose, I'll take a hernia potentially reopening over anything happening to my eyes fer shure.

In a few days the holiday season will be over. Uneaten treats will be pushed off on guests and friends, or frozen against future need, or trashed, or

vanished in one last get-rid-of-it-all eating frenzy.

I figure Tuesday will be UUAD, Wednesday will be at best MD, Thursday is holiday celebration deuce for my family so it will be UD. FRIDAY I may return to LC or I may hit the potatoes, but - whatever I eat - it will be DD and my life will return to the pleasant ebb and flow of rotations. Chuckle, I am really looking forward to the

feasts and the

self-induced famine!

The news coverage of Sandy Hook/Newtown CT is so so sad. Is there a lot of media coverage outside the tri-state area? Here in NY it is unescapable.

Around here people are doing 26 acts of kindness. One for each person who was killed. I think that could be healing... it is just so sad and you know those families will never be the same- and right here at the holidays.

Time to get up find the remote and change the channel.

I changed the channel a couple hours ago.

It has hit a few of my clients really hard. Two of them have lost children- one to gun violence at that and this has been very difficult.

I keep an eye out for DW. Her son was murdered 12 years ago and things like this can be very hard on her.

I can't even imagine losing a child to anything, much less violence. The families and the town will never be the same. We don't have cable so at least we aren't bombarded that way, but the nighly news is all over it.

I heard that the folks of the town have asked the press to leave. Is that correct? I hope they have and the press leaves -- it has got to be so hard...

I haven't heard, but surely if they have that would be understandable and I would hope the press would respect that. I think today is the last group of funerals so perhaps the press will not be so intrusive going forward.

Our TV is tuned to football since the state high school payoffs are on. Notathat I am watching it but that means we haven't seen or heard national news for a couple of days. Still I cannot imagine how people work through these terrible tragedies.

Hi all, we have found out that Hubbies cancer is worse than they originally thought and his surgery will be more radical than what we were hoping. However, thyroid cancer is one of the better ones to get so hopefully he will still be ok. We have an appt with his Consultant 28th Dec to discuss and he will be able to go privately through my work.

We have decided to have the BEST Christmas ever and the New Year will bring what it brings, fingers crossed thats tumour out and no recurrence. Its all such a carbon copy of me last year and I am fine so he should be too we have decided.

Lets hope all us judders have the BEST 2013...xx

I spent my 9th Christmas at Disneyland and although so many years ago, it is one of my fondest childhood memories.
