Hear hear, I'm with all you super low carb gals that lost restricting and then got ticked and gained it all back. Fabulous cycle, huh? I did the -60 +60 cycles! Wheeeeeee! What a fun ride! (not!)
Just got back from a bit of Christmas shopping with my folks & late breakfast out. On a down day. I was really nervous about it & then just told myself to get over it...being all strict and not enjoying myself is what got me on the aforementioned "ride" of poundage. So, I ordered an egg beater western omlette, gave my folks the homefries & biscuit, came home and looked up the cals. Yippeeee 270! That's it for me today and I am happy, happy that I was able to have fun on a down day and still remain super low calorie wise. I was telling my mom about this WOE and she looked at me like I had 2 heads when I said I was eating candy & carbs and expected to eat 1800 cals on up days. It was pretty darned funny! |

Wow! It's only been about a week since my last post and I cannot believe how many new JUDDDers have joined this group. Welcome all of you. I just started JUDDDing on November 17th. Initially I lost 5 pounds with no problem-- even with Thanksgiving in the mix-- and then things stalled. Finally I began tracking my UDs and pinpointed that's where the problem is. I have no problem sticking to 530 on my DDs (25%) but I was going WAY over on my UDs. I think is was Kissa/Cindy who said that JUDDD teaches you a lot about your eating habits and that sure is true. I was definitely letting myself go way overboard and there was certainly an emotional component to it. So now I am tracking calories on all days and expect that my weight will begin dropping again.
By the way, I have spent hours studying the recipes and DD meal suggestions that you all have come up with. Fantastic. My PB2 and Glucomman are on their way. I'll try to check in more often. Wishing everyone success! |

Now I'm on my second DD and feeling okay so far. I'm armed with some sugar-free Jello-O today, and I think that will help me get through it. And yes, LoCarbGal, I think I'm going to have to change a few things about my LC eating. I used up most of my calories in my UD lunch yesterday because of all the high fat food I included. It's just a habit for me at this point, but later in the night, I got hungry and didn't have many calories left to spare. I'll work on tweaking things.

Carly, I'm so glad it went well (even with the post-procedural ick factor). Rest easy.

Morning all!
Hubby has decided he needs to shed a few pounds (whatever, he looks great, however, his b/p IS up and it worries him). Anyways, I was showing him the calculator on Dr. Johnson's site and decided to enter my own stats again. Yowie! Maybe I've stabilized after dropping initially b/c my UD cals were wrong. LOL! Whoops!!! I thought I was supposed to be at 18XX and I'm really supposed to be at 1636. Huh, guess that would probably make a difference, huh? ![]() |

Hi all,
Feeling much better- thanks for all the warm wishes. Cindy your cat is beautiful! My numbers are 1638/328 at 36 yrs, 135lb, 5'2". I eat more like 1750/200, but I don't count the UDs all that closely- well at this point I don't count them at all. So I guess the UDs could be anywhere between 1950-1500. Depends if we eat out or at home or if I'm so busy at work that I miss lunch. Flutter your 1600 sounds low- I'd re-check. |

It had me confused all morning and then I decided to pull the calculator out AGAIN and refigure, especially since I have a good 50+ pounds to lose! This time I came back out to 1834/367 which sound right having lost 10# since first calculating. I greatly appreciate the feedback! ![]() Carly, I had actually taken your stats off your avatar info b/c you are about my height and when I saw your numbers, figured I must be off since I need to lose so much. Thanks for adding in what works for you, too! I was gonna ask! hehe! |

At this point I just play UDs by ear. I feel really blessed to be able to do this, but since I never had a problem with over eating while awake (I had/ have sleepwalk/ eating problem, so I gained all the weight eating while I was totally asleep) I'm not prone to over eating on my UDs. I think a lot of people have to count UDs closer and for longer, but I haven't made a conscious effort to lower my UDs. I do eat less overall, because I just get full so fast. I also stay under 200 calories on DDs in case I sleep eat, but it seems to happen less than 1x a week now. We had all the pantries empty and only a few DD yogurts in the house for months and that helped me get started without being derailed by sleep eating. We had to stock up before the hurricane in October and I was afraid I would be back to eating everything in sight at night, but no- that hasn't happened. I'm thrilled since I have been battling this for 15 years!

Hi
I thought I would introduce myself. I'm a newbie to JUDDD, but not to low carb or dieting or fasting. My track record with diets is pretty bad, I can usually have a great 2 weeks, lose 5kg, then 2 more weeks and I'm back where I started. So I think JUDDD will suit me, seeing it is only 'dieting' one day at a time! I do have a question. Do ppl take the 400mg of Resveratrol everyday? Take it at all? Take it when they remember? I'm even worse at taking supplements than I am at dieting, so I don't want to forget to take it, if it's super important to the success of the diet. Starting on my first DD today. Thanks Carlye (from Australia) |

Hi Carlye-
The resveratrol is not critical. I take it some days, but no where near that amount. I take pterostilbene 50 mg each day, helpful, but not critical. The rotations and calorie limits are the most important part. If you haven't been to Dr. Johnson's caculator to get your numbers head over there. ![]() |
