3 months JUDDDing
and I am down around 15 lbs... about half way to goal, and BMI now 25.5
I had felt a bit discouraged in early November with 6 weeks of really slow loss, so I went to a bit of a modified plan for 3 weeks or so, with DDs at 1000 and some MDs (1250-1500), and making sure UDs were max 2000. I was able to stick to this with only one UUAAD (which was totally work-stress related... plus being home alone, with things like Skor icecream in reach ). I figured that in November I had a caloric deficit of 13250 cals (based on a pretty conservative est. of my maint cals as 2000 given how much I exercise), and if we figure I went up to 3K on my UUAAD , so take off 1000, and divide the total by 3500, I would have expected to lose 3.5 lbs this month... and I lost 2.3. ![]() So I am going to go back to 500 cal DDs, and see... in December there will be at least 7 days, especially away from home, which will be UDs, hopefully not UUAADs, and some of them are back to back. But I will just do DDs and MDs when I can, and realize December may be a lose a little, not gain kind of month. I must admit I am envious of ppl losing 2 or more lbs a week, but I guess the closer I get to a lean body weight, the slower the weight loss will be, and I know the last 10 lbs. is pretty dang reknowned to be a bit of a bugger ![]() So I will try to be abiding and patient, and stay the course... and NOT regain weight, which is so flippin easy , and then have to relose it so painfully slowly. I must really remember this... because I was at goal before, and while I did not regain 90 lbs , I did let 35 lbs creep back on, and I really really really do not want to have to be in this losing effort ever again. thanks for listening... I know I am not on the boards a ton, but I check in and feel really supported by just knowing we are all keepin on keepin on ![]()

Congrats on halfway to goal! Maintenance on JUDDD is so much better than maintenance on any other plan. I've been in maint for 8 mos now, and while it was a mental game and a bit tricky at the beginning, now it is really a breeze. It really is a plan that can keep you where you want to be for life, while allowing you to enjoy life along the way.

Toora, I have no doubt you can make it to goal and then maintain with JUDDD. You've done very well already, and will continue to do so. Yeah, you!

Congrats on your success! It really sucks how the weight comes off slower when you are smaller and working twice as hard! But stick with it and you will reach goal in no time

Tooraloora, you remind me of that song, "Halfway to Paradise".
![]() ![]() ![]() Well done lady, I know it hasn't been easy for you all the time, but you have stuck at it and it is working. Personally I can't think of a better way to get rid of unwanted pounds. An Up day brightens my life. Great plan for December, this will be a challenging month for everyone so we just have to keep on keeping on. |

Sucks. But if that's the case, I think you've got a few approaches: 1) Lower your calories overall 2) Try to trick your body by going back to big divergences between UD and DDs 3) Exercise a LOT more 4) Accept that this is going to take a lot longer than you hoped Quote:
Also, I am someone who sometimes posts 2-3lbs losses, but not every week. In fact, some weeks I gain. It's just that sometimes I lose a bunch of pounds all at once in fits and starts and I have no explanation for this. Chin up, cutie! I think you're doing amazing. Also, because you already lost a lot of weight, you have all kinds of hormones working actively against you. This is a proven fact! So you're not in the same boat as everyone else. You're rowing upstream. |

thanks all
![]() and yes, chin up, indeed. I cannot work out more than I do (45 min x 6 days a week)... or I will not, but I think a bigger spread, eg 500 vs 2000 might be worth some investment. Most of all, I believe a big tall can o'patience is in order. And yes, I got a lot of empty fat cells screaming to be refilled , and the ones I still want to empty, probably hanging on for dear life and to be honest, this last hurrah is pure vanity... I am healthy and fine already... I just cannot abide the idea of a whole closet of awesome clothes from when I was at goal going to waste... so if it takes 6 months to get there, so be it. is this JUDDD calm ... whatever it is, I will take it!meanwhile, my size eight pants are not so much getting droopy in the butt, but the front.. yikes, I could be a dude soon I look forward to a big try-on of about half my closet in January, and that will help keep me well behaved in December ![]() |

p.s. put aside about 4 pairs of droopy drawers size 8 pants for Goodwill... and had a try on from my closet... I am a bit betwixt and between... I don't have much in size 6, and some of them are a tad tight... tons of size 4, my goal size, still at least 10 if not the full 15 lbs away... so having started at a size 20 (9 years ago), gotten down to 4, creeped back up to a 10, now <8/>6, I can finally (finally
), feel some progress, after 3 months on JUDDD, despite some diet or another (and many many periods of Jail Break and/or Giving Up) for at least 1.5 years... all I can say is ![]() (and this is all at the rate of losing about 1/2 lb a week after my initial whoosh... so slow losers, esp. those close to goal like me... have ) |
