Some very nice numbers in here. Some still fighting the good fight. But you are right Jaymar, JUDDD is teaching us that weight loss is not linear. Patience and perseverance are important.

deal world goal: BMI less than 40 by the end of the year (225). December fun back-up goal (anniversary, Christmas, parties, travel, oh my!): maintain. Or anything in between. My plan is to make the days when I don't have events really good ones and add extra exercise.

12/1 - MD - 233.3 - challenge #1 ... DH's work Christmas dinner party on DD. I don't think the food will be special enough to change rotations, so plan is to fast until then and choose wisely.
12/2 - UD - 232.6
12/3 - DD - 233.1 - been a little loosy goosy lately ... committing to a great DD today!
12/4 - UD - 231.5

That sounds like no fun at all, and then to retain water ... :P At least you know once you are off the antiobiotics/alka selzer that fluid should go away.

I have noticed that the one week in the month I don't take birth control pills is the week that most of my weight comes off. It makes me wonder if I should be on them at all, but anyway ... it happens every time, then typically the rest of the month is not all that exciting. I will not keep up this pace for the whole month, not even close. I'm experimenting with three potato days to see if I can get my body to drop a couple pounds after that week instead of stalling out. It would be nice Christmas insurance. I have another two days to go so I don't know if it's doing anything yet.

So you do the PD on your UD's too? Just wondering if you eat little taters through out the day or a couple meals?

December goal is to get back down to my previous maintenance range of under 150 again. My start weight is higher than I hope my true weight is as I had every flavour of chips that I like last night

12/03 DD 151.8 obviously a bit of water weight gone! ate 350 cals of potatoes/no fat. PDD (Potato Down Day)
12/04 MD 151.0 worked out to approx 800 cals of potatoes, couldn't eat to UD calories due to lack of appetite.
12/05 MD 149.2 approx 800 calories
12/06 DD 148.8 350 calories, finished 5 days of eating potatoes.

I'm not cutting calories- I've been adding. For the month of December I'm doing DDs only on MWF- I'm still keeping them around 200 cal, because I just have a DD routine, but every T, TH, S & S is an UD. I don't count UDs anymore but anywhere between 1600-1950 I would think. This was going to be my long range maintenance plan, but if I prove to lose on this I will have to re-evaluate when I actually reach goal. Now it's just a bonus if I lose, but I'm not trying this month.

I tried one, isolated all-potato down day, but it seemed like people were losing better doing at least three potato days in a row, so I'm experimenting right now with three days in a row of nothing but potatoes with spices, salt, or vinegar. I'm rotating calories, but my down day yesterday was higher than usual and the one up day (today) will probably be a bit lower. I have no idea if it's doing anything for me yet, but I'll post my results Wed or Thurs in the Potato Hack thread (and you'll see the scale results here).

OMG today i started off I was going for a PDD. I had a potato lunch. I think it was probably 2 hrs later maybe a little less, I had a MAJOR crash. I dont know if anyone can relate to this. I started shaking felt really weak. I know my blood sugar dropped like mad. I had to eat just to feel better. I think Im just going to stick to my regular dd's and stick to the plan and not try other stuff. I think I just need to focus on UD DD. Now I feel like I totally screwed up my DD. Oh well onward I go.
