No, don't ever torture yourself. This is both simple and easy. Easy Peasy!!! LOL Yes, JUDDD is effectively an extended fast of approximately 36 hours because it takes our full DD and adds the sleeping hours before and following that DD.

Since our bodies are set up following natural circadian rhythm, which is regulated by daylight and nighttime, we have certain highs and lows within us regulated by that natural rhythm.

I think you could lose weight that way, but every day would simply be *a diet*. That's how your body would see it, based on it's natural rhythm cycle.

One of the strengths of JUDDD is the power of its extended 36-hour fasting period, which is then brought slamming up against the feasting Up Day of full calories. (It must be a lot like living in the caveman days when you are starving and eating whatever tubers and bugs, shoots and berries you can find one day, and then the next day.. shazam!.. somebody kills a wild hairy beast and everybody gets a real good meal before it's gone and they are facing hunger again.)

And we all get to "diet" however we want to, but as to intermittent fasting within the JUDDD framework.. nooooooo.. it's not going to happen much with me. I tried the going-all-day-without-eating-and-just-having-supper thing, and.. I didn't like it.

Hope all goes exceedingly well for you. It's exciting that you are with us and are going to start in again in a little different way. The more you read, the more sense it makes and the more you realize how easily it works if you don't fight it or try to redesign it. Good luck!

Ideal world goal: BMI less than 40 by the end of the year (225). December fun back-up goal (anniversary, Christmas, parties, travel, oh my!): maintain. Or anything in between. My plan is to make the days when I don't have events really good ones and add extra exercise.

12/1 - MD - 233.3 - challenge #1 ... DH's work Christmas dinner party on DD. I don't think the food will be special enough to change rotations, so plan is to fast until then and choose wisely.
12/2 - UD - 232.6

TY Librarygirl...it all shows up eventually, huh? I did SEE it...that is what I remember Usually I can jump in the shower earlier in the morning during the week, but it is quicker than weekend showers, and I am down -.2 I conditioned & shaved this morning...so I prolly did absorb more water this time.

I really wasn't expecting much loss this morning since I have lost the last few days. I have switched to LC again (I tried adding carbs, but my body just will not have it), AND I'm thinking perhaps the SIRT1 gene is starting to kick-in...I'm not full of energy yet...but I am not as tired as usual

Hi, everybody -- today was my first weigh-in after being back to JUDDD. My highest from a month or so of doing pretty much nothing was 233. Then I did a week of low-carb and was down to 230. And this morning, the grand-total loss after 1 full week of JUDDD: .5 lbs. For 229.5. Now... while that's a little dissapointing, I am coming RIGHT up on TOM. It's still going in the right direction -- so I'll take that. Here's hoping for something a bit more dramatic next week!

Thanks for the encouragement, LowCarbgirl! Of course it would be nice to see 2-3 lbs gone on my first week, but I understand there are mitigating factors at work. TOM is one, as well as the fact that I'm not currently taking any estrogen supplementation (and, with PCOS, that makes it hard for me to lose weight). Also, I've really gone a bit nuts and up'd the exercise this week (sometimes getting 2 workouts a day -- well, one just walking, but still...) -- so I am telling myself I've added a little muscle. Also, I haven't weighed every day -- so who knows that the bounce is. Anyway, good job, everybody@

I'm new (well.. not new.. i guess i could say 'back' but i never really posted before so... lol) and jumping in! I've decided my body really, really likes JUDDD. I'm mad I ever stopped, as my metabolism has been pretty messed up by all the things I've done. Hope I can join in on the fun!

December goal is to get back down to my previous maintenance range of under 150 again. My start weight is higher than I hope my true weight is as I had every flavour of chips that I like last night

12/01 DD 156.0
12/02 UD 154.8 started potato hack
12/03 DD 151.8 obviously a bit of water weight gone! ate 350 cals of potatoes/no fat. PDD (Potato Down Day)
12/04 MD 151.0 worked out to approx 800 cals of potatoes, couldn't eat to UD calories due to lack of appetite.
12/05 MD 149.2 1 more day of potatoes and then back to JUDDD
12/06 DD 148.8 finished the 4 day potato hack! It has been so successful for me I might do one more day and have today be a potato DD so I can have a regular UD on Friday for our friends Christmas party. I am not sure yet if I can face more potatoes...(I did one more day)
12/07 148.0 UUAD with NO potatoes and a party
12/08 150.2 DD

I finished November @ 186.1 so December goal is 180.

Dec 1: 188.5 Big bounce. Sick kiddie yest so lots of carby food-on-the-go
Dec 2: DNW Out of town
Dec 3: 187.2 DD
Dec 4: 185.7 UD
Dec 5: 186.8 DD
Dec 6: 185.9 UD Was so hungry going to bed last night was sure I'd see a bigger drop Gonna enjoy UD now though
Dec 7: 185.2 DD There's the rest of my drop And after a snacky evening too... This JUDDD is so arbitrary
Dec 8: 184.8 UD Easy does it...
Dec 9: 185.0 DD
