I'm still here!!

I'm still reading & trying to stay caught up with everyone! I'm still having blood pressure issues & I've been advised to not drop my calories too low until I get my medication right. My doctor cut it in 4ths at first & then my BP went too high. So, I doubled my med & it seems to have stabilized. Until I got up this morning & it was high again.

I'm pretty sure all of this started because I was so sick & didn't eat much for 3 days. I have potassium issues, too, so being dehydrated didn't help. I figure my doc will have me resume my normal strength of BP meds once we get my pressure more stable. I'm doing mostly UD's & MD's. So far, I'm maintaining! I am surprised by that! But, it's a good surprise. I've been dieting since last January. Maybe I needed a break & just didn't know it? I'm just not going to worry & that is the glory of JUDDD!

I've been busy getting the house decorated & the tree up, too. My DH is a big help! Gotta love a man that loves to help decorate for christmas! He even cleaned the livingroom/dining room windows the other day!! If I didn't already love him.........that would make me fall in love with him!

Thanks for listening to my problems, if you've read this far! I'll try to participate more. You all are so great!!

I’ve always wanted to be normal, but lately I’ve come to suspect that this is it.

I hope you get your blood pressure meds under control soon. I know thats no fun. Your lucky to have a hubby that likes to help decorate. Mine just sits and watches me. He brings all the boxes in from the garage and takes them back so thats his way of helping.
Hope you feel better soon!!!

I'm glad you posted Shari! I'm sure you'll get all this figured out with your meds, and get back to normal.

I bet taking a maintenance break is good for you! If nothing else, isn't it amazing to realize this really, really can be a long-term WOE?

I am sure you are right - your poor body is still recovering from that horrible, sick reaction. Once your BP is stable and you resume weight loss, I plan to ask frequently if you have checked your BP lately. Bet you do have to trim the dosages down - just more gradually.

Fingers crossed you feel better soon!

Thanks everyone! I've never been on maintenance of any WOE I've ever done!!! To me, that says it all about JUDDD! I've been JUDDDing 2 months & it was so easy to became a real WOE & not a 'diet' like all of the others. To any of you, just starting out, this plan can be/is a real lifestyle. It's easy to commit to in a short time. And the cherry on the top is this group of JUDDD BUDDD's! You're not going to find a more sincere, loving bunch on the internet!!

Nancy, thank you for planning to check on me & my BP. Hypertension runs in both sides of my family. So, when I developed it at 45, I was concerned but not surprised. And, I wasn't over weight then. That was almost 20 years ago & I know realistically I'll probably always need medication. But, it is nice to know that it's improved & that I need less! BTW, how are you feeling since your surgery? It hasn't been that long ago. I hope you're healing nicely!

Take care of yourself Shari, I am hoping this is sorted out soon.

Isn't it wonderful to slip into Maintenance mode when you need it like this? You've got to love JUDDD.

Hi, Shari!

It sounds like if you're maintaining right now, alternating between UDs and MDs, that will be very much like it will be when you do actually lose those few more pounds, after this is all settled and your pressure is good again. And in the meantime, what an easy way to eat.

Hoping you are feeling well again now. I think the longer we are on JUDDD, the more that feeling of great abundant good health comes on strong, and I'm thinking it's because we actually ARE in better health! This Alternate Day thing really helps our body mend and heal some of the things that were under strain and weak within us, rebuilding damaged functions, breaking down and sweeping away poor cellular structure, etc.

Glad you here, even if you aren't doing the true DDs right now. Hugs!

Phyl, thank you so much! I can always use a !

Cindy & Pat, I am feeling so much better! Having Maintenance to go to until my BP is completely under control is so much better than just ditching JUDDD & going back to a free fest!! I hope to be back in weight loss mode before Christmas!

Shari, thanks so much for sharing this.

I felt a strong need to up my DD today and reading that you've stayed in maintenance is very encouraging. I face quite a demanding physical time for the next couple of weeks and you've helped me to let go for a while.

I hope you soon get your BP and meds sorted.

Shari I'm sending
This week has been super hectic for me and I feel like I haven't been around much either. I'm glad that the unplanned maintenance break is working out well. It is nice to know that this WOE has a seemless transition into maintenance.

This is one of the greatest things about JUDDD, the ease with which we can up our calories from 20% WLM right up to 50% Maintenance, and still experience the health benefits it offer.

Shari, Flossy I am so glad you have come to see this so sensibly.
