Gained a bit today but I went to the gym yesterday and I just about always gain the next day. Had Green Mexican potato soup for lunch and potato pizza slabs for supper. My pizza sauce was only 25 calories. Onto Potato Hack Day #9! I'm planning on potatoes with vinegar-ketchup for lunch and Sweet Potatoes with DaVinci splenda sweetened maple syrup for supper. Probably the same lunch or leftovers on Tuesday and potatoes with sauerkraut and mustard for supper... then I think I'm done with potatoes for awhile. That'd be 10 days in a row. I think I've gotten potatoes out of my system- french fries don't even sound tempting!

I love seeing so many great results, and some great new recipes.
I almost chose a PDD today but I am cooking tacos for DH so will just eat lots of the salad and taste of meat with lots of salsa. But Thursday I am looking forward to a Potato DD. |

Argh... 183.8 AGAIN today. Today is my last potato day (#10). My losses have not been what I expected. I am hoping that I have added some water weight that I'll lose when I stop eating the carbs and return to my HCG P2 diet.

Jen that is a lot of potatoes! Thanks for posting your recipes and progress. I am having a PDD today. Alternating these with regular UD's has been working fairly well for me but I may do the three day hack to get to goal this month. I will have to see what comes up for social events this week. Eating out would be nice too.

Decided to do another potato day today
This morning I peeled and boiled 5 of them. Then I fork mashed them. I ate part of them hot with A-1 sauce. The rest I put in the fridge and I've been frying them in ICBNB and Lawry's seasoning salt and serving with ketchup throughout the day-this is soooo good Just like American fries. I did have 3.5 grams of fat this afternoon when I gave in and had two cups of sea salt popcorn. I skipped the butter though! I will also have 60 calories in diet hot cocoa today ![]() |

For my husband and I, for 10 days, we went through 30 pounds of gold and red potatoes, 2 pounds of russets and 7 pounds of sweet potatoes. So that is right at 2 pounds a day per person. Plus 2 cans of sauerkraut, 4 four cup cartons of fat free reduced sodium chicken broth, mustard, reduced sugar ketchup, 1/2 bottle malt vinegar, a bottle of green & a bottle of red salsas, a few squirts of Cholula hot sauce, about a cup of DaVinci Sugar Free Pancake Syrup (and dashes of a few other flavors here and there), a tablespoon of Chinese (awesome!) cinnamon, a teaspoon of pumpkin pie spice and a jar of pizza sauce.
Cheap eats for 10 days, am I right? ![]() |

Ok, I searched within the thread for rice and found some mentions of it.
If one were to do this for consecutive days, could you use potato, sweet potato, and rice all at the same time? Potato one ,eal, rice another sweet potato another .... Also, are you still doing UD/DD rotations while doing this. |

No for me on the JUDDD rotatations but others do it. You'll find however that you can't eat UD calories on potatoes alone. You'd pop.
It's important to stick to plain potatoes as much as possible... even small additions of fat, protein and other carbs impede/negate the weight loss.Yes, you can do potato, sweet potato and rice... but the rice does not have the satiating qualities of the potatoes so you will eat more of it- and more calories in general. If I did rice, I'd bring a set portion to work or something instead of sitting at home with a prepared pot full in front of me. Rice (I believe) also does not have the protein and nutrients that potatoes have. So 3-4 days might be fine but I wouldn't do straight rice for 10 days or 2 weeks. Try it and let us know! |

Rice is also devoid of nutrition--it is nontoxic, a safe starch and a good filler, but has nowhere near the nutrition of a potato. I eat it if I am going out for sushi or very occasionally as a break from taters, but you have to eat it without fat which makes it far less palatable.

So far, I have only had yukon golds, although I don't think this matters.
I have had no more than 2 tablespoons of butter per day, probably less. No more than 2 tablespoons of meat, most days less. It has been really hard losing weight on LC for me lately. Last year I had to do a protein-sparing modified fast to get some weight off (eating almost all low fat protein, similar to stillman's). That was draconian. I have tried high fat/low protein with no luck (rebound weight gain after the fat-fast type run). This is easy, I'm not hungry, I'm comfortable. What a relief!!!

Industrial vegetable oils contribute to inflammation of the liver that is part of metabolic syndrome. Read archevore/Kurt Harris for more info. Exercised muscles will up regulate insulin receptors. |

Final results:
10 days of potatoes (& 3 meals of sweet potatoes) 3.2 pounds lost I haven't had a BM in 3-4 days, it's ovulation time for me (worst weight loss time for me), I started this after 18 days on HCG (doing 600 calories) so there wasn't a big loss to begin with. I'll post the next 2 days with any losses or gains... I'm hoping for a water whoosh because I'll be going from high carb to low carb again. Fingers crossed. Oh, and .4 to 100 pounds lost! Sooooo cloooosse! ![]() |

Glad to know sweet potatoes can get in the mix. I did a PDD & it went ok. I think I could do 3 days in a row alternating regular & sweet potatoes. No more than 1 tsp fat per potato, right?

Thanks!
I bought a sweet potato too, which I will eat this week - I want to get some vitamin A in, since regular potatoes are low in A. These make really good spicy oven fries - cut into large fries and sprinkle with cayenne/red pepper. Yum! |

I'm not doing the potato hack, but this sounds divine. How long do you bake them and at what temperature?
