Well I have to bow down
to the knowledgeable ones here... I had no hunger today. Amazing. You guys know your stuff! After the first day's gain and yesterday's hunger attacks I really thought that this wasn't for me, despite my love of potatoes. I really hope the weight loss continues and my husband is ok with continuing beyond tomorrow night. We'll be out of potatoes then and we'll have to have a little chat. Tomorrow is potato day #4!! ![]() |

This definitely works!!! The day before yesterday I did it perfectly. Only potatoes with seasonings. Yesterday, like I said before, I had potato skins at the restaurant and some dried fruit later on, and I'm at 162. I lost 2.5 pounds in two days, and one day I didn't do it to a T

I am finding that potato DD's are becoming the norm for me. I need the variety on UD's to keep with it but am loving the weight loss and ease of my potato days. Not doing all potato days in a row is definitely slowing my weight loss rate but I can stick with it and I like the extra protein and vegetable variety I can work into my diet this way.
I wanted to update you on my DH's potato hack progress. He has been on it for about 2 and a half weeks and has been much more diligent that I have. He is doing the potato hack during the week and then going off of it for the weekends. He is now down 16 pounds. His starting weight was around 230 and he is now 214 and his height is 5'10". It looks like it all came off of his stomach area which is were he need to lose it. I think he is going to hang in there for one more week so will upstate his progress here if he remembers to weigh.

Wow Babs, your DH is doing great! That is so encouraging. I'm still contemplating a potato hack, maybe next month. Thanks for the updates!

Down another 2 pounds!!
![]() I had a bowl of potato soup, and then about 4 hours later a big lean hamburger with condiments and a little lettuce. I got some sweet potatoes yesterday so today I'm experimenting with that. So far, so good! |

I am doing my first Potato Down Day. I lost .5 this morning after an UD yesterday. I am wondering how to count calories as I didn't weigh anything. My bag of potatoes said 1 potato was 100 calories but that cannot be right b/c some were small and some were large.
B - 1 scrambled egg 60c 1 small potato diced/roasted w/ ketchup ? L - 1 medium baked potato w/ onion/garlic powder, pepper and A1 D - Either another baked potato or shredded potatoes in the waffle iron I did the egg b/c I know that protein keeps me satisfied and was worried I'd get hungry with just the potato. I scrambled it w/ just a spray of canola oil. I know I'm not following to the T but just testing the Potato waters!

Well, it is the middle of nothing but potatoes day #5 for me. I have very little hunger now but I don't seem to be losing anything more. So I have had
After day 1- small gain (attributed it to water weight) after day 2- lost the gain + an additional 1.4 lbs after day 3- same after day 4- gain .4 ![]() My energy level is ok. Not fantastic but not "late hcg round" low either like it was. I feel bigger. Is it more water weight? I should have a few days still til ovulation time... ??? Advice? Still doing taters today. Probably will tomorrow too then stop and go back to my hcg round. I'm hoping I have a water whoosh when I go back to hcg. I'll have to count my remaining taters tonight and see if I have enough for tomorrow for both my husband and me for 1 more day. My husband on the other hand seems to be losing well. Low carb was failing him so this is a blessing. If we don't have enough taters for 2 tomorrow I may just silently send him to work with taters and eat my hcg lunch and then by supper time he'll just have to finish his day off with taters. ![]()

Natasha--if you peel the potatoes, the gas problem goes away--
the weight loss is not linear with the potato hack. It can take 3-5 days to show up. If you stick with it, it will happen |

Well, we still have enough potatoes for one more day... I'm hoping to see a loss in the morning. My husband broke into Onederland... it's been quite awhile since he has seen under 200!

For me personally I found that peeling the poataotes made no difference in my gas issue BUT I found it was the gold potatoes that were the problem. I ran out and was just eating plain old russet potatoes with no issues. Bought some more gold ones and gas again so I will buy no more of them and stick to the russets. Everyone's digestive system is different so experiment and see.
I am doing regular DD's and using the potato day on my UD with good results although I have modified it to eat eggs for breakfast. I am down to 140.4 this morning after an UD.

Adi, I have read where you make potato soup and I'm trying a potato day again..
so I have made a pot of soup using diced potatoes and onions..added celery flakes..and when it was done I put in one tbsp of LF sour cream..also tossed in a tsp of good bacon bits...this is kind of close to how I made the regular, so I am looking forward to lunch..seems like you are doing great with your potato days. |

I am down 1.5 after my first potato down day!! This go round on Juddd Ive mostly been losing after UD which was weird. I ate regular russets with skin on. I dont want to do it on UD...will that work? DH thought Id lost my marbles when I told him I was going to do the potato day. My cholesterol has always been around 210. Haven't had it tested on about 2 years but plan on it next month. Should I be worried? I may do it again tomorrow and try peeling them. I want to do the hash browns though in waffle iron for breakfast!

This definitely works. I'm a believer now. In five days I've lost five pounds and I'm out of the 160s just barely. I'll try to get to ten days. I definitely want to be firmly into the 150s by then.
Congrats on your weight loss everybody. This thread is really inspiring! |

186.6-start
187.4- up .8 185.2- down 2.2 same 185.6- up .4 184.4- down 1.2 Total loss after 5 days of potatoes: 2.2. I bet I'm holding a lot of water weight too- my fingers are a bit tight this morning. It is what it is- I'm content with it. *** My favorite is the mexican potato soup... dice potatoes into chunks and add to a pot of 4 cups fat free chicken broth and 4 oz salsa (green is better but red is good). Cook for awhile. Put some of the cooked potato chunks into a blender with 1 cup of water and puree and add to the pot. That makes the creamy thick part. Add a few dashes of cumin, pepper and garlic powder. I've also thickened it with guar gum but then it hit me that potatoes are a great thickener... I should use them! ![]() |

The Mexican soup sounds delish Jen!
Don't get discouraged by the smaller loss. The first time I did this about a week ago I only lost one net pound, and this time I lost five. I'll definitely try to stick to it for 10 days... if not 14 if I keep on losing weight like this ![]() |

I had the best workout at the gym yet- also my first workout on potatoes! Wow- what a difference. I was able to work harder and faster for longer!
![]() PIZZA! My newest creation is sliced cold boiled potatoes laid on a pan covered with nonstick foil and baked at 400 & flipped until both sides are browned- takes a good while- then each slab is topped with a spoonful of the lowest calorie pizza sauce I can find. ![]() Oh, and I lost .6 this morning!
