I've been reading through this thread with interest!! My plan for the New Year was to do an hcg round, then I thought why not try both?!! I'm usually a rogue hcger anyway. So now my plan is to do 500 cals of potato while on the drops. Maybe 250 cals of potato during the day and dinner with 3 oz. meat and some vegies. For me it's all an experiment!!
Best to all! |

Second day for me and I plan on doing it for at least 10 days. Does anyone know if it's ok to drink diet sodas and chew sugar free gum while doing the PH?

Question about cold resistant starch... I know once they are cooked and cooled it is activated... But what happens when you reheat the potatoes??

Probably PJ. I believe and so does Quis, that it truly doesn't matter much unless you are worried about BS issues. It is much higher GI when heated, but remember that the science to this fast, is that you are not consuming any fat or sugar. So, unless you have diabetes or suffer with pre-diabetes, I am not sure that the temp matters. ![]()

I seem to think, but will let you experiment first I really need the craving suppression--I am struggling mightily with that right now. I need to quit eating chocolate while on plan. Just makes me want more. Let me know how it goes and what you finally decide to eat. Are you posting on the hcg thread for this too? Let me know...... |

shelby, I believe this is the reason that I like the tater only DD. It isn't a lot of taters but then when you are eating so little anyway?
Calm and the hunger is minimal which is wonderful. |

Yes! It works. I did only potatoes & drank some broth the first time. Lost 5 lbs. in 4 days.
The 2nd was after Christmas and I lost 3 lbs in 4 days and I had some protein for breakfast waited 4 hours before eating ONLY taters. I also tried to JUDDD. Just now realized that I lost better without the protein and without JUDDDing. Best wishes Kimberly! It is fun and the best part is that it compensates nicely for the UUAD of Christmas/NY.Last edited by sunday; 01-04-2013 at 11:36 AM.. |

Thanks Sunday for summarizing your results. I was wondering if changing up the hack would affect weight loss. I think I will stick to the original potato diet for a fee days and then slip back into my regular JUDDD rotations when I am finished. Hopefully back to maintenance JUDDD for my mini-vacation.

It is also such a cost effective plan. I mean what could be cheaper than taters and more taters?
tater soup also. I believe Adi makes hers with gluc, so it will go further. I just add a cup of chicken broth and it is like heaven. In fact, it is a wonderful dd dinner. ![]() |

I use Land of Lakes ff creamer and it has been my "go to" when I need to stay low fat. Only 20 cals in 2 tbsp! It seems to be just the ticket.

I have coofee with HWC and one egg for breakfast, then a cold boiled tater for lunch if hungry and faux cream of potato soup for dinner. Not having losses but am finding it pretty easy to stick to this for my DD's so I can maintain which is my ultimate goal anyway. |

I am starting another potato hack Sunday, probably 5 days, attempting to undo the holiday damages. I bought 5 pounds red, 5 pounds yellow, both of which I will use boiled and cold with malt vinegar, and 5 pounds of the crinkle fries

I really love this hack. I am now going towards an inflamation free diet (aka Virgin Diet) trying to do up and down days with that. I think I might have overdone the nightshades with the 14 day PDD hack (I was pushing to get weight off for a particular reason) since I had a long spell of gastric upset AFTER the diet. I'm still not sure that was it, but I'm doing probiotics and am using rice (white mostly) as my protein starch as I start back into some form of this method.
I'm going to try making sure I peel the potatos when I do this again. I LOVE bone broth with the boiled yukons, or really any type of potato. I also made a great up day potato oven roast(yukon and blue potatos) with rosemary, onion, brussel sprouts, and olive oil on New Year's. So, I'm not stopping the PDD, just being a bit more selective for my tummy's sake.

That is amazing. As you say, perhaps not to be recommended but you had a reason, and it worked for you. I don't think I could do it, but what an incredible tool this is.
Hope your gastric issues are all better now. |
