Reunion story
I KNOW you all will find this fun and interesting---I posted last week about reaching my goal and flying down to Texas for my mom's 80th birthday party surprise. My parents have not seen me since I started JUDDD last January 12th, and although they knew I had lost weight they obviously had not clearly pictured what changes had occurred! A friend picked me up at the airport and delivered me to my sister's door, which was answered by my brother in law and my father. My dad just stood on the sidelines, not reacting at all to seeing me. He said hello to my friend and a few words, then turned to me, put out his hand and introduced himself to me. He did not recognize me at all!!! I think I sort of hesitated and then said, "Dad?"..He sort of went pale, then got all teared up and said my name. I know I look different, but everyone says it is so dramatic and this absolutely proved it. He told me my silhouette is so totally changed that it never even occurred to him that it was me. My mom came home about 15 minutes later and her mouth literally dropped open in shock. (I was not expected at this reunion at all, plus my size change) The day and a half I had for my visit was amazing and so memorable all around. I am glad to be back home but wow, what memories I have of this time!
