DD Energy! What have you accomplished?

My first week on JUDDD and I have taken some major steps on getting my house in order! Saturday and Sunday I cleaned baseboards, walls, fireplace and my floors in the living room, after cleaning the office and convincing bf to move all of his online business [out of my living room and] into there. Last night I finished the baseboards on one side of the room, and am ready to rearrange some of the furniture...and put up our xmas tree in the next day or two.

Today, I got off work early, as the university closed at 2 pm for the holidays. Came home and decided to tackle our "junk" room. Yayyyy! It is now a guest room (with a little storage )!!

Loving this energy...when I finish cleaning my kitchen cabinets and baseboards, I'm going to paint the columns on my front porch!

Your first WEEK?!?!? It took me a month to hit that stride (after which, I repainted the interior of the house and revised the landscaping).

Loving this, it is a great feeling isn't it? I manage to overcome it quite often.... I just come here.

Yes, like Nancy I took well over a month to get near that, but in the last several months we re-did the kitchen, 1 bathroom and the hall. All were painted and totally redecorated. I have vacuumed more in the last several months than in several years before that. My life at work has been super productive too. Especially on DDs when I skip lunch break and work with caffiene and DD energy!

I don't think it's the energy so much as it's a way to combat the hunger...I'm like, well I can't eat, can't drink, may as well do something productive because if I sit here I'm just going to want to eat (or drink). Plus, it's been years (2ish) since I had gotten my house back to what it should be...trust me, I've put it off long enough!

Love the way you think, Cindy!! I'm trying to do as much as possible while I feel like it. Who knows when this feeling will end, but when or if it does, at least I'll have made a dent in the lonnng overdue chores!

P.S. Also, my nagging is completely and utterly useless as a tool to get bf to do much around here. Therefore, I am doing it myself!!

I got through a dental cleaning and xrays, some holiday shopping, and decorating outside for an hour, all before I even had a cup of tea!

Needless to say though, the dd shivers were BAD today, but a hot shower and some spicy tea fixed me right up.

Oh, and I wore my -30degree parka, ear muffs, and uggs. it's only -7C here. It's going to be a LOOOOONG winter!

Finished cleaning my lower cabinets and the fronts of the drawers in the kitchen, and one side of the kitchen baseboards. Was so tired of looking at pet hair, dirt and spider webs!!! Yuck! So you see, it's not been needless cleaning, lol. It really, really needed it! Next, I will tackle the baseboard under the kitchen sink...then the top cabinets and fridge...ooh the yucky top of the fridge!! Do any of you have that grimey, greasy dusty fridge top like I do?

EDIT: Just talking about the fridge put a fire under my arse. Fridge (outside and top) is clean now. Found vintage Doritos and Chex cereal, and a few dead bugs!!! I feel positively virtuous now.

You will.. It's part of the JUDDD magic. Soren... -7c... OMG.. I'd die. Seriously. I'm under 2 turned on electric blankets, 2 regular blankets and a huge, thick comforter. My toes are ice cold and it's only down to the low 40'sF. I want to move to GA or FL!

Nah, Carly-- I lived in GA for 4 yrs when I was younger, and the type of cold there, it's not like up here. Here, it's cold and dry (usually).

There, it does get cold (not as much, or as long, but it does) and it's DAMP! Bone chilling, honestly-- I was a yankee kid and I could tell. UGH, and the summers! Killer. Love the people, and the food but I'm not a fan of the weather

btw, -7c is 19F, for anyone who might have wanted to know

32 F here in S.,C. this morning! Brrrrrrr I had a hard time getting warm last night too...had turned on the gas logs in the living room all evening and it gets so warm, in that room, that it turns off the central heat...and the bedroom was freezing! Looks like I'll be wearing a heavy coat to work.

LG, we did something similar

we moved some furniture around in the dining room, and wound up moving a lamp onto a taller piece.
it's right under the thermostat, and since it's a regular bulb (it's on a dimmer), the heat from the bulb gave a false reading on the thermostat.

I was FREEZING (since it was a DD, the extra cold didn't help) until I figured it out

What is it with this down day freezing temperature thing? I am dreading tonight when I'm sure it'll strike again. Last DD I went to bed with a sweatshirt, flannel pants and those super fuzzy warm socks and still chattered with frozen ice feet & fingers. DH went to give me a hug and said my hiney was frozen, too. EEEEK! LOL!!!

I think I'm gonna need an electric blanket soon! (Carly, your 2 sound heavenly!!!)
