Hope

I just want to say that JUDDD has given me hope back. I have been through the gamut of emotions regarding my weight: shame, embarrassment, anger, acceptance...but really, that last bit, acceptance, was never real. I "pretended" to be okay with my weight. A better word would be defiance. I would be damned if I worried/stressed etc. about being a "bigger" woman! All the while though, that false bravado would easily shatter in private anytime I "let" myself be aware of the true situation, and the 60+ extra lbs I was carrying around. That I'm still carrying around.

Then one day when I joined LCF, I noticed a strange acronym: JUDDD. Hmmm, what the hell is that? The more I looked into it, the more I was intrigued. But, no, LC was the way for me...wasn't it? The problem with that was, it really was calories in, calories out and I wasn't losing much because I wasn't counting calories. A little bird tapped me again, gently, and spoke into my ear, "Why not try another way? What have you got to lose (about 70 lbs!)? Don't you want to find out what that JUDDD thing is about?"

Well, here I am, and I'm seeing myself doing this--for life! I see the numbers falling on the scale, and I rejoice. Maybe, just maybe JUDDD was meant for little ol' ME.

Yay! Hope is important and it keeps us going till we KNOW... We know that JUDDD works for us if we work it, but hope is key in the beginning.

HOPE- Hang On Pain Ends
HOPE- Hearing Other People's Experience:heart:

Hope and faith are the two most powerful tools in our JUDDD arsenal, if we choose to use them. :shake:

This is the day for lovely happy hopeful posts it appears. :)

You teetered on the brink for so long Cindy, I am loving sharing your joy in finding how wonderful JUDDD truly is.

brehede 11-20-2012 05:45 AM

Hi Cindy - I definitely agree, have done low carb off and on for many many years without consistently losing weight. I am current LC JUDDD and find it an amazing WOE. Truely if I can do it (so far) anyone can, I am overweight since childhood!

Thank you ladies. It brings tears to my eyes to read my own post. I had/have trouble admitting how profoundly I've been affected by my weight. I'm NOT okay with it, and I'm going to evict it with JUDDD!!! And my beautiful JUDDD Buds!:hugs:

Zib 11-20-2012 06:52 AM

YAY and good to hear how great it is working for you, LibraryGirl. (I think of this song every time I see your screen name: )

I think this WOE is amazing and so forgiving. So glad you found it and have joined us.

Me too! Hooray for intermittent fasting.
And in the current spirit of thankfulness -
Thank You LowCarbFriends for embracing more WOEs and allowing us a place to share our hope, freedom and growth in the relationship with food.

Librarygirl 11-20-2012 07:22 AM

Thanks, Zib! That's a cute song, and catchy too. :) It's not mainstream, is it? That's my setting everyday...the library...while I navigate the mediaaa :D

I had given up hope

Unlike you, I am a happy and contented fat person. It's all I've ever known. But my health problems were starting to get so wildly out of control--high blood pressure, sore knees, back pain--that something had to be done.

I was ready to opt for weight loss surgery when I found JUDDD. And I don't think it's something I would have tried were it not for the fact that being cut open sounded worse than starving for a day. So I tried it and wow. Thirty pounds later, I'm a believer.

It's given me back hope and your story gives me hope too, so please hold onto it and I have all my toes and fingers crossed for you!

I love that song, never heard it before! Thanks I shall now think of it as Cindy's song.

No, not mainstream. It's by a girl who plays little clubs and lounges. I follow her on Facebook. Reina del Cid

I think I got the original link from Overdrive, the outfit that does the e-books for libraries.

Love the little outtakes at the end. "I can see your legs and it looks dorky."

Kissa 11-20-2012 02:54 PM

I'll be following Zib..

Librarygirl 11-20-2012 03:17 PM
