Dear JUDD, I am thankful for...

I am thankful for not feeling deprived. I can choose to have whatever I want on an up day, and yet for the last two, I have choose to eat clean. I know that if I choose to eat something indulgent, I won't feel guilty because it is "part of the plan".

I am thankful for a new found joy for cooking! I made tomato soup from scratch for dinner, WITHOUT a recipe, and it turned out amazing!

I am thankful for a smaller waistline! I am NOT thankful for the dent in my wallet because of said smaller waistline!

I am thankful for a wonderful community on these boards!

I am thankful for a WOE that I can see myself sticking to for ever.

Any others you would like to share?

I am thankful that it's been exactly a year since I found JUDDD and started the rest of my life as a slender woman who can eat anything on UDs and maintain without driving myself crazy about "diet".

I'm thankful that I've learned to do DDs happily, in total control, because it allows me to enjoy my UDs.

I'm thankful that my DH likes JUDDD, too, and has maintained his 100 pound weight loss along with me, and that I don't even have to cook on DDs. He likes eggs so much, he makes his own.

I am thankful there are so many thrift stores near my home - and so many generous donators who wear the variety of sizes I have melted through.

I am more than thankful I now truly understand what "hunger is not an emergency" means.

I am thankful for the gift of freedom around food. Even a simple thing like going to a supermarket is more pleasant.

I am thrilled that I can fit in everything I want to wear even if at my age I should know better.

I love the friends I have made here on the JUDDD board.

I am delighted to have learnt to accept the "Bounce". It was a big one this morning.

I'm thankful to be going into winter wearing jeans and T-shirts rather than baggy men's wear.

I'm thankful not to be shopping for bigger clothes anymore.

I'm thankful to have experienced the relief, restfulness, and overall great energy of DDs. In retrospect, it feels like I spent my first 50 years cramming food into my mouth non-stop (and rarely because of hunger).

I'm thankful to have taken my body on as a great and (mostly) kind teacher rather than resenting myself every stinking day.

I'm thankful every day for this community.

I'm thankful for eating becoming a healthy, happy pleasure instead of a guilty, shameful, depressing, back-alley-bad-news-bad-a$$ friend.

I'm thankful that it may take the rest of a long life to settle into everything there is to know about food, eating, and my bod.

Thanks for the thread.

I am so thankful for finally not having to carry a bag full of snacks and emergency food with me everywhere.

I am so thankful when I had to fast for 12 hrs before getting some blood work done earlier this past summer and I laughed at the ease of it and yet remember how it use to make me panic.

I am so thankful for the healing JUDDD has done for my digestion and for making it possible for me to have a positive relationship with food.

I am thankful that I can go on vacation and approach holidays with little to no fear or stress about my weight. A few good DDs brings me back every time.

I am thankful for the significant decrease in my monthly grocery bills.

I am so thankful that I found this wonderful JUDDD forum and discovered the easiest way to lose and maintain weight.

I am even more thankful for this woe for teaching me so much about what is going on in my own body on an hourly, daily and monthly basis.

I'm thankful for whatever health benefits I'm gaining doing JUDDD, whether I can see them or not.
I'm thankful for all you dear people who are going through this same journey; always generous with your knowledge, time, empathy and encouragement.

WOE: Back to JUDDD!
I am thankful for all of you.

I am thankful that my daughter is going to not have to be embarrassed by her "fat" mother, as I always was by mine (vain, I know, but I was).

I am thankful that I found this WOE before I turned 40. For some reason, that was a cut-off in my mind. If I was still fat at 40, I think I would have resigned myself to being fat my whole life and just given up.

I am thankful that I finally figured out my health issues and have addressed them. This came along with JUDDD, though I don't know if they're related.

I am thankful for all the wonderful information that's coming out now about IF in general, and options like JUDDD specifically. If it can become a little more mainstream, I think it could help a LOT of people.

I am thankful that I have the people around me who support me and love me, and don't criticize my WOE.

I am thankful for my OCD, which is mild compared to some, but really keeps me accountable. I am also thankful that I'm able to control it so I don't turn into my mother or my grandmother.

I am thankful for wine, and for being able to enjoy it again. Of course that goes for all foods that were previously forbidden, but wine is my favorite.

I am thankful for my wonderful husband and for his decision to get fit. I think the stars aligned and my doing JUDDD and having success may have helped to influence his decision.

I could go on and on. This has been a great year (with plenty of challenges along the way) but there has been a lot of personal growth and acceptance, and I don't think that would have been possible without JUDDD and this board.

What a wonderful idea!!

I'm so thankful for:
  • The helpful, positive, and inspiring people on this board. I know that you all have helped me immeasurably in figuring out what works, keeping going, and having fun along the way.
  • The ability to participate in life's fun events and still lose weight
  • The easiest "diet" (way of eating) I've ever experienced and one I can actually envision doing for the long term
  • Having lost 40+ pounds and being at my lowest weight in at least 7 years
  • Feeling confident that I will come out on the other side of the holidays less than or close to the weight I am now ... while still enjoying them to the full
  • Being certain that if I keep going (and why wouldn't I?) I actually will reach goal and maintain! Wow. I have never felt that way before, not really.

Thank you JUDDD! Thank you JUDDD BUDDDs!

I needed this thread this morning, because I am momentarily not thankful that I've barely seen any scale movement in three weeks. However.

1. I'm thankful to have found a plan that I've been willing to stick with for 14 weeks without much rebellion. That's actually pretty amazing.
2. I'm thankful to have dropped a pant size in those 14 weeks (possibly more, hard to tell yet).
3. I'm thankful to have been able to go to a friend's "pre-Thanksgiving" dinner Saturday night and indulge in wonderful food without guilt, not to mention the friendship.
4. I'm thankful that even though I'm only showing a 15-lb loss on the scale, three different people told me I look wonderful and have "really lost weight".
5. I'm thankful that, as long as I stay mindful on DDs, I can at least not have to dread a holiday weight gain this year. And if it's a loss, that's even better.

6. And I'm grateful that there were people who thought highly enough of this plan to create a forum on LCF so I could find it!

I am thankful for this forum. It most certainly has changed my life, and by extension, the lives of my family and friends. It would not have been enough for me to hear about a way of eating on the tv, or in a book. Being part of an online community of the most supportive and loving group of "losers" is certainly my most special blessing of the year.

Love you all!

Oh, so true! Or, I'd like a burger, just a burger. No bun, no ketchup, no fries and no slaw, yup... just a burger on a plate- with mayo on the side.

I'm thankful most of all for all of you, also. If not for you, I wouldn't have found JUDDD.

I'm thankful that I'm learning that it's ok to be hungry. I went to bed with my tummy grumbling last night, and I smiled.

I'm thankful that today I can try Chick Fil-A's Peppermint Chocolate Shake and actually "need" the calories!

I'm thankful I'm not asking store managers if they have, or can get some obscure low carb item for me.

Yeeeee Haaaaaaaaaa!!! Living La Vida JUDDD!!!!!!!!!!

Yup, soooo thankful...
For:
- a truly sustainable woe. So many diets claim to be woes not diets. They've never been anything more than brief spells of rigid eating and anxiety for me. Not JUDDD- I'm hitting 3 months and I'm just getting more comfortable here
- confidence. I CAN do it. I've never set a goal weight because the idea of reaching a goal is just so unbelievable for me & I'm hugely afraid of setting myself up for failure. But I'm nearly @ 20lbs lost and I'm still going strong so I've been toying with the idea of a goal. Wow!
- freedom around food. Everything is ok. Woo Hoo!
- this board and all its inhabitants. The support makes all the difference.
- new energy (which annoyingly means I sit down less often & so check in less often). Oh well, there has to be a downside

Bottom line - thanks JUDDD, thanks BUDDDS,

Listen, you. If it takes me until I'm an octagenarian to fit into tacky leopard hot pants and leather mini-skirts, I'm still going to wear them at least once. There is no knowing better and you're still a spring chicken!
