AVG may have a 1x free PC Tune up. I think I used it once and it helped a bit. I think.

Leona, you may have done all of this already, but you can delete programs you never use, and check that your protection isn't doubled, or heavy, like Norton (hope I can say this -?) Avast is free and light.
I think you mentioned defragging already.

I removed a lot of stuff from my start-up programs. All kinds of things were loading every time I started up that I rarely used (like iTunes). The programs are still on my computer, but run only when I use them and are not loading automatically.

I just got done with the Avast, it took about 30 minutes or so and did a complete scan and said I had no virus!! Good To hear!

I think part of my problem is I have lots of "spy-wear" as DH looked at autos the other day and now I get lots of as for cars!! I also looked at mix-masters and get ads for those too!

Thanks for helping all you wonderful JUDD'S!!

The ads you are seeing if they are regular banner style ads are not spyware just marketers retargeting you for things you have searched for online. They are harmless. If you truly think you have spyware Google malware bytes and run that program. There is a free version. (I am not affiliated with them in any way).
