WOE: JUDDD for WL/5:2 IF for maintenance
Goodbye lc!

I've decided to ditch counting carbs I've discovered from adding JUDDD that I naturally have low carb days every other day anyways. And on my UD's I want the freedom to eat what I want, (within reason of course!). I'm still aiming to keep my sugar below 20 grams a day though, since I've had elevated sugar levels in the past and a family tree full of diabetics. I think having a woe of JUDDD and low sugar is going to be a great fit for me

So, so happy that I found JUDDD

Let's have a Going Away Party for LC!!! I'm coming!!! I agree with you, my DD's are pretty lc and I like being able to eat whatever I choose on UD's. I considered doing IF on LC, but thought if I were going to sacrafice like that, I'd much rather do JUDDD and eat normal. I love JUDDD!!

That's one of the most beautiful things about JUDDD ~ the freedom to choose exactly what you want to eat. I wish you the best. Just know that you could see a slight, initial gain adding carbs back, cut it's just your glycogen stores refilling, and is perfectly normal. Just water, not fat!

Dawn, I was just looking at another thread where members are contemplating whether JUDDD may cause a decrease in muscle mass, and that higher carbs/lower fat seems to have contributed to less weight but more flab. Have you found that to be true also?

I have not been tested, and I don't really know any other way to confirm or deny their findings. I don't "feel" like I've lost any muscle mass. If anything, I feel stronger and firmer UNDER my flab if that makes sense. I can see muscle definition in my arms, and even my thighs which still have some fat over them. I have plenty of "flab" on my stomach and thighs which is loose skin. I don't know if it would have been any different if I had done LC the whole way.

Nope

I don't exercise with real regularity. But on JUDDD, like LC, I have seen muscle mass increase.

Actually if you check out the benefits of LC and the benefits of JUDDD, you will find they are strangely similar. Both are ketogenic (burn fat, preserve muscle), some asthmatics seen improvements, some arthritics see improvement, some people see their blood glucose stabilize.

I believe, way down deep (BT - or, below Taubes ) LC and Intermittent IF/Calorie Restriction have some unifying basis, some thread in common.

I think the flab is the result of weight loss; the skin has not caught up.

My muscle tone has been good through a summer of JUDDDing.
As usual, in winter I need to do something to stay in shape.....same as w LC.

Where weight loss is concerned; If UD's are LCHF, I maintain my weight. If DD's have more carb and lower fat, I continue to lose.

I have lost my passion for HF......it does not make me feel good and my digestion slows; too slow. (This is not to inply that I am eating LF, just sort of average).
This was a problem while LC ing but is more glaring since JUDDDing. I am much more comfortable.

I have never been freer or happier since ditching carb counting. I can actually put 3 slenda in my big glass of iced coffee and not count those againt the 20 grams I'm allowed

Ignore what I said above, what I meant to say; LCHF UD's maintain my weight but if I eat more carb of UD's, I will continue to lose.

As Dawn says, please don't panic if you see some pounds going on for a few days. Deep breaths, this will pass.

I dont think I have had any muscle loss, I am squidgy because I yo-yoed for years and I have to pay the price. That is fine, I still look so much better.

Anyone who interested can see some before and after photos if you click on my name Kissa and look at my profile.

Lol, I never counted splenda anyway. Carbs mean bread, sugar, pasta to me. I have actually been putting *real* sugar in my coffee sometimes this past week.

Cindy, I just tried it, go to Public Profile, then on the right of the screen there is a box entitled Albums, at the bottom of that box it says Show all Albums and my 2000 pre weightless photos are the 4th album down. At least that is how it works on my Mac!

I started Atkins in 2001 Jan, and lost 56 lbs but then regained about 8 and just could not lose them, they went and came back a couple of times every year and it just got harder and harder.

I started JUDDDing a year ago and immediately got to goal and beyond, til I was too thin.

I love the freedom of not living LC after all those years.

Yes, they are pretty. But they look like a different woman, somehow. All hail to you for doing the work. Sometimes I think you JUDDD vets were born in your current gorgeous form.

Amazing pics, Cindy! You were pretty before, but your face has changed so much with your loss, and you're beautiful now. I'm with Kristin, I couldn't picture you heavier at all.

I'm still a little afraid to say goodbye to LC. But I am adding them back slowly. In the past I've felt kind of achy and, well just older, if you know what I mean. Stiff, creaky, sluggish. I'd like to think my body will heal and adjust, and that I won't have those sensations after JUDDDing for awhile. Time will tell.

Good for you for freeing yourself of all the LC restrictions. I hope it works beautifully for you!
