Angie. If you are fighting off a bug, your body may be urging you to fuel up. I'm not sure why some "sick" makes us totally not hungry, and some "sick" makes us nibble away, but it happens. A protein/high fat few days will probably kick the appetite suppression back into gear, and once that's done you can re-evaluate. Hope you get to feeling much better!

Thanks so much for the support! I think I am just eating crazy amounts to make myself feel better from the cold. I'm not really hungry, its definitely emotional eating at its finest.

I'll probably just stick to the 3 day protein fast and then continue with an UD on saturday and continue my rotations. I really want to lose a few more pounds before my birthday next sunday (dec 2)!

Hugs to you, Angie! I am terrible about eating carbs, carbs and more carbs when I havea cold, or a tummy bug, or whatever. It's always the white stuff, too. (toast, toast and more toast, for example...which always cues the evil sugar monster for me once I'm feeling better) I like the idea of loading up on protein & fats part. Thinking about you, and remember, it's ONLY a few days. You can get right back on without any damage!

Happy early Bday, btw!!

Sara, have fun with g'ma today! I can't imagine a place with no salad.... but then,...I remembered a place we went to in L.A. last year...chicken 'n' waffles....mercy me!! Enjoy the chili, and very smart to have something before you go!! Just think, tomorrow is an UD!!! Hang in there.

Angie, feel better honey! Be kind to yourself

This looks like the right place for a newbie to ask a question, hope that's right.

I've started reading all the articles, and am very interested in JUDD and all the health benefits to come from it, not to mention the savings on food and having to cook and prepare less. I'm a type II diabetic (not on insulin) so I have to remain low carb, but it looks like a lot of people here do that as well.

I have a stupid question--is this an alternate everyday plan (meaning some weeks there will be 3 up days, and some weeks there will be 4, so long as it alternates every day)? If so, how do you all plan your meals for the week? Since I'm low carb, I really have to plan my meals ahead of time. Do you find it easiest to mark your up and down days ahead of time and plan accordingly every week?

DeeDee! I am one who stays mostly low carb, and it works great for me. I do plan somewhat ahead, but often just a day or two ahead. Sometimes I just have a small amount of what I would normally have for dinner on a DD.

Yes, if you keep your rotations the way they fall naturally, you'll have M-W-F-Sun UD one week, and then the next T-Th-Sat-M the next. It works just fine.

Thank you for the response LoCarbGal! That sounds completely doable.

I'm a little nervous to jump into another WOE, but the benefits of JUDD seem pretty great.

Deedee! After you've done a few rotations, you should know what keeps you satisfied on a DD and you'll find there's very little planning needed. UDs now are an entirely different animal!

Deedee. When I start JUDDD it was a type II diabetic on byeatta injection 2x a day. No more injection, no more diabetes, no more low carb. JUDDD has been a miraculous life changer for me!

TOM weirdness... Yesterday I had NO appetite so my UP turned into a MD (1200 calories) and today I was pretty ravenous, so my DD turned into another MD (800 calories). We will see what tomorrow has in store for my appetite. Hopefully, it will be a conservative UD... with it being Thanksgiving and all, the pie will be calling my name!

Good to have you on board Deedee. Hope you have as much success controlling your Diabetes as Carly has had. But either way I know JUDDD will be good for you.

Thinly, sorry you have been having a hard time with TOM. I am sure you'll get back to good rotations now.

Well, I learned something yesterday-A DD, first day of TOM, and having my kids off of school for the holiday break are NOT a good combination I was so cranky yesterday, to the point that my oldest daughter asked me to go have a time out Then TOM started and I was like

I hear you- I have pre- TOM just like that some months, but no kids to give me a time out.

If the day before falls on a DD I can be sure I will be hungry, which I'm not accustom to on DDs. That doesn't help my less then desirable mood

I have literally not lost weight for 4 months using normal calorie restriction diet!

I am so happy - anyone considering this I can say currently I'm really enjoying it and I really don't feel restricted like on a regular diet it's amazing! X

Hi everyone!!

I'm Lia and I'm 18 ( start weight 202 lbs cw 179.4 lbs)
I've been JUDDD-ing seriously since last Saturday I've lost 3.6 lbs already!!! How awesome is that this doesn't even feel like a diet

I'm starting the warrior diet too - I read about it and it sounds perfect for me as 3/4pm-7/8pm is when I get hungry

Anyway, my question is ( sorry if it's been asked already) do you have to eat the DD calories I've found that I'm perfectly fine with 1800-2000 calories one day and nothing but herbal teas and water the next. My allotted calories per the JUDDD website are 1998 and 400. I would rather eat nothing than 400 calories tbh but will this hinder me in any way? ( I have 45-50 lbs to lose)

Thank you in advance
xx

Hi Lia! ! You've done great losing already, and how great that you've found JUDDD to finish off your goal and to maintain with. You don't HAVE to eat any calories on your DDs, if you don't want to. Dr J noted that a complete fast is best, but most people can't manage it, so gave us our DD allotment.

You'll just have to play around and see what works best for your body. Some folks find they slow down if they don't eat at all on DDs, but some do very well consuming little or no calories every other day. I would recommend that you do try to get close to your UD calories each UD. It seems to be part of the key to success. Enjoy!

Thank you LCG & Cindy
It is nice to know that my 400 calories are still there if I need them.

btw, congratulations on your weight loss, guys!! I can only dream what an achievement it would be to lose that much

I have to admit I'm not a fan of working out but I know I have to do it so I started cycling, skipping and strength training-> what sort of exercises do you think would be optimal to go with this WOE?

Congrat's to you!!! Keep on dancing cause it will just continue to get better & better. I love the freedom that JUDDD gives me, not just diet wise, but somehow mentally, too. I tried strict low carbing counting just carbs, then counting calories too and nothing worked. Somehow this system agrees with my body and gone is the guilt of eating things I couldn't normally on a strict lc plan. So happy for you and wishing you nothing but more success! Keep posting, these ladies are all truly amazing.

Do you eat your calories late on DD's? Maybe I should try that. I've been eating them for breakfast... I've heard that it's good to get 18+ hours of no food in there somewhere. What is your opinion? Also for an UD do you eat all throughout the day or consolidate it into so many hours? I think I need to pick up a book or something on this....

I'm doing pretty good, but tend to be starving for most of my DD's. I don't have time to count all my calories on UD's, so am thinking sometimes maybe I'm not getting enough in... If I had a smart phone I could prob manage it, but don't at the moment. Plus I cook most things from scratch and it's such a pain having to enter in recipes and then figure out servings and all that!

Personally, I consume most of my DD calories for dinner, and come in between 400-500 usually. I do count my UD calories, and I don't have a smartphone either. I hear you about cooking from scratch and figuring out your counts. I use a free online counter, and over the past 10 months, have managed to get most of my usual recipes calculated and entered into it, so now it's just a matter of clicking on those items when I make them. Every now and then there's a new product or recipe I need to calculate or enter. Of course, last week I had to figure out all our family Thanksgiving recipes and enter them in, but I wound up not counting at all those 2 UDs, or should I say UUADs! In the long run, I think it's well worth a little time investment to get your recipes logged in so you can use them later.
