On a different but also funny topic, I think my bf might also lose (unnecessary) weight, if he continues to eat what I cook on DD's. Tonight I only cooked some chicken thighs in water with a teeny bit of olive oil, for my cabbage thingy tomorrow. I didn't cook enough cabbage for him, so I fixed him two pieces of chicken and sliced a cucumber on his plate. He said, the cucumber is delicious!
He is 160 lbs and 5'11.![]() |

How's everyone doing today? I woke up hungry on this, my 2nd DD. Ruh-roh! I had some coffee, got everyone off to work/school, and promptly went back to bed. LOL! I never ever EVER do that. Honestly, though, I'm just coming off antibiotics for a sinus infectin and have a horrible time sleeping most nights anyways. (always congested) It was nice to have a few hours to actually nap. Napping is generally never in my vocabulary. Sure was a nice way to get through a fast.
![]() Back to drinking some sobe water now for me. I'm going to try and make most down days fasting days until as late in the day as possible, I think. |

Yay, this month's Newbies are chatting! I love to see you all getting to know one another and helping each other out already. I feel bad I didn't start the thread earlier now. Thank you so much Dawn.
I am one who generally waits until late in the day to eat on a DD. I have never been a breakfast eater and DD isn't interested in lunch so it is easy for me. I see the mini meals are helping a lot of people. Last edited by Kissa; 11-15-2012 at 09:59 AM.. |

I wish I had done the mini meals today. I've had coffee (50 cals, threw out about 1/3 of the cup, after I got to work), pickled okra (15), olives (25), carrots (17), mayo (35), 6 almonds (45)...187 so far. I have chicken/cabbage/LC cheese in the fridge for 202.5...389...111 left. Ugh, and I want my coconut fruit bar tonight, which is 120 cals.

Are there many following JUDDD that choose to NOT consume any food (including shakes) during a DD? I have been pushing myself a little bit at a time and am surprising even myself. My first DD I held off breakfast until 10:30, my second DD I held off until 1pm, my last DD I held out until 5pm, and today I held out until 8:30pm. I ate only because I had prepared my salad ahead of time and didn't want it to go to waste. I made myself 2 large coffees throughout the day and that is it and water of course. I wonder now why I even bothered with the salad as I really wasnt hungry...Only ate 3/4 of it and am stuffed.
Does anyone "fast" to this extent on a regular basis and if so, does it make a big difference on the scale or do you just eat that much more on an UP??

Today I had 4 ounces of chicken breast and 1 light bonabel baby cheese at 5:30 pm, just water and tea before that, so 221 calories today, and it's been easy! I may have a cup of tea with 1-2 T. cream when I get home, which would put my calories around 325 today, pretty darn good! It is such a relief to me that the DDs are getting easier; I knew this intellectually but had a hard time believing it in my gut, but it really is true.
Thank you for having so many ways that we newbies can check in and ask for help, advice, and feedback on this board. It really is one of the nicest, most supportive boards anywhere. |

Restarting with ambition then. Hubby and son went to the mountains for bear hunting this weekend so daughter and I have a fun weekend planned for ourselves. It involves eating and movies and xmas shopping sooooooo, I will allow this last whoo hoo then back at it monday morning!! My progress is slipping and I must regain it back! |

Weight is holding even with TOM in the house. Spent the ENTIRE day at the movies yesterday and still the scale held. It was an UD which was good, but I also watched how much of everything I ate determined not to make it an UUAD. Proud of myself! I'm finding that I can't eat as much as I used to, it's a weird sensation.
Long day yesterday and lots of things waiting for me today. Meh! Have a great day ladies! |
