...for the moment at least.... if I'm able to get through DD's eventually without needing to eat much I may reconsider and take it again. |

I wonder if it would mess anything up to just take this on our UDs? I'm also not willing to give up that many calories on a DD! I also don't like taking any supplements on my DDs because I have a fairly sensitive stomach.

I have the same sensitivity with my tummy. I am certain that is why I sometimes have nausea on a DD.
![]() I would think, and this is my thoughts, hopefully someone else will come along to add, but as long as you are very low in carbs on DD that extra cals in fat will not effect you. If you eat carbs or eat lowfat naturally on DD, this may not work. Does that make sense? |

I also took a borage oil capsule before dinner last night. 15 calories for one. I had a pretty hearty dinner for a DD! I mixed 3/4 cup macaroni and cheese with steamed green beans and had 4 ounces of chicken breast with home made fat free gravy. Yum! This morning I was down another 1.5 pounds. That's -5.5 pounds of vacation weight off in less than a week. Wow! It's going fast and I'm getting close to my stats again. Yay!Quote:
I've decided not to count the CLA or the Borage oil. I'm only going to take one Borage oil capsule per day right now and see how it goes. I'm loving the results of the CLA so far for sure. I don't think it's all in my head either. I never counted fish oil calories or flax seed when I was taking it. I did count coconut oil, though. I'm only using coconut oil once or twice a week when I'm starving on a DD. It really stops my tummy growls. Quote:
I ended up vacumming and shampooing the 2 couches in my living room, vacumming the whole house, cleaning both bathrooms, mopping all the floors, changing beds, cooking dinner and waxing most of the furniture in the house! I'm getting ready for the holidays. DH wanted my home made mac & cheese for dinner and I was gonna pass on it but it looked so darned good. Now with the scale being down again this morning I'm so happy I didn't pass on it because it was extremely satisfying! The only other calories I had yesterday were from half and half in my coffee, one cup of FF Greek yogurt with half cup of frozen blueberries stirred in. I had that right before I went to bed.

Yam, this is exactly what is so great about JUDDD, it corrects when we are away from the adf for a bit and every single time, it is a mega boost in losses.

![]() I had under 500 calories yesterday. I thought it was a DD!!! ![]() ![]() So, today as I was posting my planned menu for today all of a sudden it dawned on me that I messed up!! LOL! RFOL! I'm all jazzed because I have not eaten anything yet. I don't want to change my rotations, but I might end up changing because I don't like the idea or effects of 3 DDs in a row! ![]() No wonder I've lost 5.5 pounds this week! ![]() ![]() I crack me up sometimes!!!![]() ![]() ![]() |

Mine are 3x a day as well... I had to practically pin a note to my shirt to remember to take them!
I think I may give it a go again in a few weeks. |

Okay, I found some today at the drugstore - same ones as you have Yam. $14.99 for a month's supply. Not too bad - if they really work I'm up for that amount of investment. I can't decide whether to try them now, and let them help me out over the holiday, or wait until after, just in case they make me feel yucky at first.

I've decided. I'm going to start them today, a DD. I'm off to make a light lunch so I can take one with food. Wish me luck (and losses)!

Well, I took one with lunch and one with dinner (4000 total) and no tummy issues. It gave me the most peaceful, satisfied feeling in my stomach. I only had soup for lunch, but it gave me the feeling of having some nice protein/meat in there. I sure hope it helps boost the fat loss too!

Started my CLA this morning as well!
Now that I seem to be into taking supplements I was trying to remember what you said helped your knee Cindy? I have a few degenerated disks in my backbone and was thinking that whatever helped you knee might be good for backs as well. Last edited by Babsbabs; 11-21-2012 at 01:08 PM.. |

Hi, so happy for Yam Yam that she's found something fascinating to research! (I'm a researcher, too, so I know.) Also, this business of fitting into the Gloria Vanderbilts.... ... you go, girl.
Just wanted to mention that Dr. Mercola advocates CLA supplementation. He is the person I first heard talking about it. You can probably find articles about it by him, with his take on the various benefits. Also interesting.... One reason he advocates the choice of buying grass-fed beef is that we then get more CLA in the meat portion of our diet (and the cattle have grazed happier/healthier). "When left to feed on grass-only diets, levels of CLA are three to five times more than those fed grain-based diets. " So he explains that the choice of quality beef may make us more toned, and less prone to cancer and the other ills that CLA protects against. I have taken CLA supplement in the past but was actively exercising for inch-loss as well during that time so didn't give it a fair test as far as what particular benefits it had. It may well have been helping me more than I knew.

So, I've been looking at the label of my Zero Fat CLA. One serving is 2 softgels, has 20 calories, and 2000 mg of 80% CLA. For some reason, I thought I was getting 4000 mg per day, but I'm really only getting 2000, and I'm wondering if I should increase it to 4 softgels a day to get the full benefits. I was willing to spend $14.99 a month on this, but I'm not sure I can justify $1 per day. I really want this to help, and if I knew for sure it would, I would do it. Anyone else have any thoughts here? What doses are you/have you taken, and with what kinds of results? Thanks in advance!

Can't advise you there. I am taking 4 a day, which equals 4,000mgs.
Haven't noticed anything remarkable yet, but I am certainly going to give them a few months. They expensive over here too, but I got mine in 'penny' sale, buy one and get the second for a penny. |
