to all the new Ladies!I'm Jan, very new on this plan and LOVING it and all the super smart and caring folks here. It really helps keep me going. Every other "diet" has me going strong and then fizzling out. I know as long as I keep coming back with questions and needing encouragement, it will be here for me. Just as I hope to be for all of you. When you're having a tough time, vent here. When you're having a good day, tell us about it! When you need something explained, ask here. There are so many nice people here who will give you lots of help when you need it.

I've been on this site for a while, and have been trying to eat low carb for a long time, but have not been able to lose weight. I feel like I have wrecked my metabolism after nearly twenty years of yo-yo dieting, losing and gaining large amounts of weight. I feel like I am at the end of my rope right now.
I kept seeing "JUDDD" at the bottom of many of the posts on this site, and finally decided to see what it means. I am planning to start my first DD on Monday, and will try to stay as low carb as possible. From everything I've read, I feel like this WOE may help me repair my metabolism and kick things into high gear again. I really hope so. I am so frustrated with my body right now.

Seaofsand! I think JUDDD could be tailor made for you. Seems like lots of us wind up feeling like that about our bodies after so much gaining and losing, or just being heavy for so long. If you can commit to JUDDD for a time, you'll learn so much about your body, and you may be quite surprised by what you find out! You'll learn to love and trust your body instead of feel betrayed and frustrated with it! Good luck, and post a lot through this journey. We all learn from each other! |

I am looking forward to reading all of the posts here...can't tell you how excited I am to have found JUDDD , kind of by accident....I have to watch my health..pre diabetic..so..I started a little over a week ago and just kind of tried out the method..so I noticed that the last couple of days have been so much better..not so hungry on the DD or the UD..and have lost two pounds..to me..that is an excellent indication that JUDDD will probably work for me..I see lots of success with it..so I'm going to go for it..thank you all for sharing your information and success with the rest of us.

Seaofsand and jaymar, You have found a wonderful group of people who will keep you encouraged and give lots of good information. Read read read and learn how JUDDD can be the answer for so many of us who get so discouraged trying to lose weight and get healthy.I too tried low carb and had some success losing 70 lbs. I need to lose at least 60 more and was stalled and struggling for weeks. I started a week ago Friday and lost nearly 4 lbs my first week. I'm already feeling better and have genuine hope that this is the way for me. And it really isn't that hard when you know you can eat "normally" the next day. You will like it here! Keep coming back and feeling the magic of this group and this WOE. Last edited by JayLynn; 12-02-2012 at 08:00 AM.. |

Another newbie! I did low carb for about 3 months and only lost 4 lbs. Then found this forum about 5 weeks ago and decided to give JUDDD a try. Boy am I glad I did!!! I've lost 10.5lbs in those 5 weeks and don't even feel like I'm dieting.
JUDDD. And I don't miss LC....not even a little bit Theresa |

It's great to see so many new people starting at the same time as me and to have the experts here to help us!
Up day for me and am at about 900 cals for the day and I know it's still early but kind of wondering how the heck I'm going to eat enough to make over 1500 cals LOL. Kissa, how many cals do you eat on an up day, if you don't mind me asking? You are about same height and weight as me. The calculator told me to eat 1579...I don't think I ever had a problem before eating that many, but I guess DD's really do make you feel less hungry the next day. |

Newbie checking in
Dawn, I will take that post personally! I find your weight loss and pic absolutely inspirational!
I just completed my first DD, yes, made it to bedtime under 500 calories. I am excited about JUDDD and very optimistic! I was on the Dukan Diet for just over a year, and lost well -- 30 kg down -- but since falling off the wagon a couple of months ago (I put it down to a very stressful time with family stuff) I have put on 5 kg and was beginning to get scared! Have tried restarting but it's been so hard. Then I stumbled on JUDDD and I think it will be "my answer". Years ago (around 1970) I did just the same sort of diet (then called "The Eating Man's Diet), and got to goal (135lb) on that. So I know it works. However I am 66 now, and the years have not been kind to my body. Despite my Dukan loss, I have another 60-70 kg left to lose. It will be easier knowing you fellow-judddders are here to encourage me! Hello everyone! I think I am doing well with this. I ended up starting an UD on Sunday since that is the advice some people had. I was 138.8 (after Thanksgiving gain!) and after my UP I was 140.2. This morning after my DD I am 138.0. My WI at TOPS is on THursday so I'm hoping to be down a bit more. Thanks for all of your great advice! Welcome to everyone else that's new

![]() to ever more lovely New JUDDD BUDDDs.Brenda, you can't add a signature for 25 days or until 25 posts I believe. Yes, Zig, my cals are in fact a bit lower, at around 1450, cos I is old. I am basically in Maintenance, so I don't alway count and I am often over . But I like to keep my DD cals low, and it seems to work for me.Just a remeinder to you all to please use the December Newbies thread for chat and questions, this is really just intended as an 'introduce yourself' thread.

Brenda, you might want to seek out Yam-Yam when you have some time and read some of her older posts. She came to JUDDD from Dukan and may have some good advice, although with JUDDD, you pretty much just do the rotations, and the weight starts moving. It's really the easiest, most fun "diet" I've ever encountered. Thank you for your kind words.
