Just say you are eating later! You will be, just a day later.

So pleased that you are going to try this, most people love it. See you around the boards Mary.

I think we are so friendly and good natured, because we never really feel deprived. We get to eat basically whatever we want every other day AND lose weight! It does wonders for my state of mind.

Indeed it does Carly. But we really try to be supportive here, we leave snarky to other forums, lol.

I see you have had quite a tough run already, I hope JUDDD brings you all of its many benefits, easily.

Start Date: new start date: CTFLC Sept 2/13, JUDD:Oct 14/13
Hi everyone! DH and I are starting today with an UD since its a holiday here in Canada. Eating turkey leftovers and keeping track of it all to see how many calories we eat. I'm supposed to eat 2000 and he's 3200. It just seems like so much food! I am not used to this. I know that tomorrow being a DD will be a huge difference, but I think that will feel more normal than this UD. 4 years ago I lost 58 on Wendy Chant's Conquer the Fat Loss Code. But the last year and a half were really bad and I put almost all of it back on. I started again on Sept 2nd, and am down 18 again, but after reading about JUDDD thought I'd switch to this WOE and bring hubby along.
So, thanks for all the great info on these boards and the help and support you all give everyday. Looking forward to this new journey!
Johanna

Hi all, I tried out JUDDD a long while back and didn't stick with it. In 2003 I lost 100+ pds on Atkins and a lot of walking. Gained back about 50 by 2005. Worked that off by doing SBD. In 2007 I had a tummy tuck, thigh lift, brachioplasty and breast augmentation. I think I was looking pretty good. Today, I have gained back about 40 and am feeling miserable about my self. I tried to gain control over the last few years but gave up. This week I was able to convince DH to join me in "JUDDING". I've bought all the groceries for the week, to include my snacks/meals for work. I work 3, 12 hours night shifts as a NICU nurse so trying to calculate the time of my meals is a challenge. I plan on taking everything I can eat to work with me. Planning is the key for me. I am looking to this board for ideas and support. I have been with low carb friends for a very long time and everyone is usually very encouraging.
My question, if someone can help me is thins. What does "restrictions" mean on the calculator on Johnsons web site? How do you know which one to pick to have the correction caloric intake numbers?

The percentages are based on your UD numbers, so 20% would be 20% of your UD calories, etc. For the fastest lost, you'd use 20%, but up to 35% is still considered weight loss mode. For the first two weeks, 500 calories is fine, and you can work your way lower.

2000 calories seems like quite a bit. We're close to the same weight and I get 1700 calories for UDs. Are you very active? Often, we overestimate our activity, so we recommend unless you're training for a marathon or very active, you stick with the option on the calculator for little to no activity.

Yes they are! We have our own language!

JUDDD = Johnson Up Day Down Day Diet

UD = Up Day

DD = Down Day

EOD = Every Other Day

WOE = Way of Eating

HWC = Heavy Whipping Cream

I'm sure I've missed a bunch. Just keep asking!

Howdy, all. I'm looking to start JUDDD. I lost 34 lbs with Atkins this year and have gained 17 lbs. of it back. LOVE those little fat cells!! . Any way, I tried to go back to Atkins, but I cannot handle it due to stress / emotional eating. I thought that maybe JUDDD will be better since I'm not restricted to a low carb WOE. My question, and please pardon if I've asked this before as I was on this thread for a little while before, what is the average weight loss I can expect on JUDDD? I have 42 lbs. to lose. Any guidance is greatly appreciated!! Thanks .

Hi Vivers. Average weight loss can be difficult to predict. I can tell you that I've lost between 4-6 pounds a month since May. My plan is to stick with JUDDD for life, so the rate of loss - although exciting - isn't my most important consideration. I am 61 years old though, so the rate of loss has been great imho. Good luck! Welcome!

It's really so very individual. I don't think there's a real "average" amount. I lost 3 pounds per week, on average (some weeks none, some weeks 5, etc.) when I first started, but I had a LOT to lose. Toward the end, I lost 4-8 pounds per month.

Vivers!

My average over the past 13 months has been 6.5 pounds per month. But I've had months where I've lost 9 and months where I've lost nothing.

Don't let what looks like slow losses deter you though. Because you must remember that you're only really dieting half the time. 15 out of 30 days.

If I had thought I'd only be losing 6.5 pounds per month when I started this, I probably wouldn't have started at all. I was looking for 10 pounds per month or better. But that isn't very realistic or sustainable. I'm not one bit sorry I started doing JUDDD, and while I'd love to already be at my goal, I know I'll get there sometime next year, and won't be feeling unhappy and deprived in the meantime.

JUDDD is simply the best way to lose weight while enjoying your life, PERIOD! It has been a life saver for me, the answer to prayers, and led me to being the thinnest I have been since getting married 23 years ago. Whether you lose a bit slower, or crazy fast, you will lose and make your goals!!!! I know it's not for everyone, but I am prejudiced that it is for most! welcome to all you new peeps!!!!!! Post often, ask questions, and enjoy!!!!

! I lost anywhere between 4-11 pound per month. Usually between 7 and 8. Everyone loses differently, but if you stick with JUDDD and respect your calorie limits you will lose!
