Hey Flutter, hey ladies. Yep. I made it through. Woke up this morning feeling fantastic. And I can hardly believe I don't have to do anything restrictive today. I think I am going to love this WOE. Did you or anyone else have panicky feelings on Day 1? Oh, and I didn't know holidays are always considered an UD. Good to know.
Hope you all have a great day. Thanks for being here. |

You did great, Atira!
Thanksgiving falls on a DD for me but I'm switching my rotation this week to make it an UD. Not gonna set myself up to fail when I know I'll be eating! ![]()

Jumping in to formally join all of ya'll!
I will be starting maintenance JUDDD. I have been on LC & hHCG, and managed to re-lose 115 lbs. (of regained weight loss of 231 lbs. originally) between the two. I will hopefully succeed in loading up some current pics. I do not have many super obese pics... and what few I have are "stuck" in an old hard drive on another crashed computer...soon it will be restored. I am hoping to maintain/ or lose a little through the holidays, and will re-evaluate after the New Year. My goal right now is 175...I made it to 175.8, and I figure I will prolly have 2-3 lbs. of bounce-up weight when my body stabilizes a bit off of the hHCG. I am a natice LC-er, and plan to continue LC-JUDDD. The first pic is me around 380+ lbs., the 2nd pic is my engagement pic at 281 lbs. ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]()

Hi everyone.
I got up and weighed this morning.. 169.6... WOO-HOO I know technically it's really 170, but to me its 169. I haven't seen the scales that low in over 4 or 5 years. I'm so glad I found something to put a jolt in my weight loss to get me losing again and found a site with helpful people who've been there everytime I've had questions. Thanks everyone for all the help and the recipes and most of all... the support. |

Well done Altira!
Glad you have Tday set up as an UD now, that is the wise choice. Wow, Angela, that is the most incredible loss, you must feel amazing and should be so proud of yourself. Beautiful pics. Ktown what a lovely loss to greet your day, and is definitely 169, we love a new decade! |

Hello, everyone! My name is Rayne, and after my 4th attempt at Atkins it's pretty clear my metabolism has passed on (RIP). I've been bouncing between 239 and 241 for about 2 weeks now, with frustration becoming pretty unbearable.
So...I talked to my DH yesterday, and we've decided to make the switch. Yesterday was an UD, and I think he took it to mean "go back to the old habits". He stuffed himself on junk. Time for another HTH with him. Today is our first DD, and I'm panicked. This, after spending HOURS looking through DD menus and recipes. I have no earthly idea what we'll have for dinner (which will likely be my only meal on DDs, since I'm actually used to eating just once for dinner). Soup and salad? Definitely need new dressing. (omg I sound like Rainman) Oh the panic lol. I'm babbling!

Rayne! I love your name! Yes, you've found the best WOE right here, and you'll enjoy learning all about JUDDD by reading posts to your heart's content. DDs get easier, and you'll figure out what you guys like to eat, and when. I'm beginning to enjoy that nice, empty feeling on DDs, which I thought I never would. Keep posting and let us know how you're both doing! |

Thanks for the welcome! It's not the hunger that freaks me out, it's trying to think of a meal that will a) appeal to DH, b) possibly appeal to DD (age 19), and c) NOT go over the calorie limit. I can psych/steel myself to accept the restriction of the DD (at least I think I can lol), I have a history -- many, many years ago -- of pretty much starving most of the time due to a medical condition that eventually resolved. I do think I'm worrying about DH when I really should be concerned with me. Deep down, I know I cannot afford to let his bad habits and compulsions sway me...again. >>>>> Ok, I've been brainstorming. I think I have a plan: spaghetti squash tossed with poached chicken breast, Pam-sautéed garlic/red pepper, and a few tablespoons of parmesan, split 3 ways....and salad with lo cal dressing. (Cals: 409 per ******) DD can supplement as needed with her choice of veggies/bread/etc. Whew. ![]() Last edited by Rayne_W; 11-19-2012 at 11:39 AM.. |

Great plan!!!!! I love spaghetti squash and was thinking about it for dinner myself. (Kids can have regular pasta) I don't haven DH on plan with me, so I have been making my down days so far either leftover nights, or free for all nights. Lol! I buy some freezer stuff the kids & hubby like and let them pick those nights.
Nice to have another new person here! Only starting my 2nd week myself. |

I was pretty surprised that my daughter actually likes spaghetti squash. She detests pasta for some reason...I've never understood it. She has a large supply of freezer stuff (Hot Pockets) and ramen, and that right there is the extent of her cooking abilities. ![]() |

I've been having spaghetti squash with Walden Farms marinara for DD dinners lately. A cup of squash with 1/4 cup marinara comes to 42 calories and is quite satisfying.

My bf eats what I cook on my DD's, IF I cook.
He then supplements with cereal, frozen stuff like mini cheeseburgers, ice cream, or candy later. I think he naturally just doesn't eat all that much, which is why he's never had a weight problem, lol. |

Rayne! DW use to JUDDD with me, but she gave it up. I don't cook for her on DDs and she is surviving. Maybe it has helped her not gain as much back. We use to call that stealth JUDDD- where the SO didn't even know they were having a DD![]() ![]() , but they were... |

I forgot to turn down the temp on the burner! I was in a jittery, scattered panic around that time...went back to my desk, and about 10 minutes later I start to smell something burning. I ran to the kitchen and could see black on the bottom of the pan...omg, I thought I'd ruined it. Miraculously, only the peppers bit the dust, and the chicken turned out perfect. The lo call 'zesty italian' DH bought for the salad was VILE. So vile I couldn't finish. I think I may just skip salad on DDs altogether. But...I did it! And about 15 cals to spare if I feel the need for cucumber slices before bed. Last edited by Rayne_W; 11-19-2012 at 06:05 PM.. |

Some of the walden farms dressings are decent. I can deal with the bacon ranch and the asian ginger (something like that) they are not delicious, but for 0 calories they are doable. The wish bone spritzer, balsamic vinegar, is 1 calorie a spritz. You can get away with 5 spritzes on a big plate of salad. I usually just use SF rice vinegar and sea salt if I'm eating lettuce or cucumbers.

Lettuce and cucumbers go along way with high volume and low calories. I think the rice vinegar and salt also minimizes my hunger

Thanks to all of you...
I began JUDDD on July 16th, not at all skeptical, because I've heard about it for longer through a very close friend (Kari). I started out at 285, and on my 50th birthday, I logged my 50th pound lost (Nov 16). Strange, I know... didn't (couldn't) plan it that way
Obviously, I thanked Kari for both her guidance and support. However, I need to thank each and every one of you, as well. I've heard each of your names (many times over) and tales of your wonderful successes. Each of you (true heroes) have been a source of knowledge and inspiration to Kari (who is also doing fantastic) which has then been passed onto me. Kari and I are both still on our way to even more success (my doctor is even talking about reducing / eliminating meds... yeah!). Know this, though... our hearts are with each and everyone of you, as well, for your continued successes. Thanks for your inspiration. Your Friend, Mark Let me strive, every moment of my life, to make myself better and better, to the best of my ability, that all may profit by it. |

Hey Group: All your posts about squash really make me wish I liked it. Sigh. Can't get it down at all. I'm finishing up my second DD with 50 calories still to spend before bed. I think I'll review the thread on low cal DD ideas again. So many good ideas there.
Rayne, you did great! My 20-y-o son may be trying this WOE. He has a few pounds to lose, plus asthma. Not sure what I would do if hubby was trying it too. I already told him I would not be cooking for the family on DDs until I was well established. Maybe your hubby could manage himself for a few days? Or does that not work? Mark -- very inspiring!!! Thanks for posting. And congrats on your wonderful progress. I am thinking I am going to succeed on this WOE. Thanks to all for being so supportive. |

Mark! So glad you decided to post and join us here. 50 pounds in 4 months is a wonderful achievement, and I'm sure you feel so much better. We'd love to have you continue to post with us - we have a few men on the board, but could always use more male perspective. |
