Today is my 4th DD and it's also going great, but I'm eating or drinking something every couple hours (with a cut off of 7pm for the night). I highly recommend trying this method and seeing if DDs go better ![]() |

I need an arsenal. I thought I was prepared today. I had pickled stuff, turkey, carrots, tomatoes and that chicken/cabbage thing. I just couldn't eat the tomatoes, and I only ate half of the chicken before I didn't want it. Don't know why I couldn't resist the (cocoa) almonds. I think I'll do better at home. It's difficult, to me, to do it at work where nibbling tends to keep boredom away, lol.

I had about 100 cals left to eat last night and I ate a small sweet potato and still felt completely empty, so later I couldn't resist my coconut fruit bar (120 cals). So, I definitely went over, but probably not more than 630ish. I forgive myself because this is so new and it was only my 2nd DD. I never thought I could go that low, so I feel like it's progress.
I have to tell you guys something funny though. I had a vivid dream of eating dogfood!! I had it in a bowl and was eating it with a fork and was totally grossed out but kept eating it. Now THAT is a hunger dream!!! ![]()

Library, I'm so sorry your day went crummy yesterday!
I was pretty grouchy myself, but TOM is approaching, too, so I ummm don't think that probably helped much. LOL! My poor family. I love how forgiving you are with yourself over not meeting your initial goal for the down day. It's only one day, you did great! Hopefully they'll just get better. Love the food dreams girls! Dawn, I know nothing about hcg stuff, but thanks for the encouragement that the lower cal days will get better! Kristin, thanks for helping us feel so welcome! UD here and I must say that although I woke up starving yesterday, I wasn't hungry at all this morning. I love bagels and made myself half of one with some cream cheese. I was stuffed after eating it. (I normally have the whole one, of COURSE!) I just got back from helping out at my DD's school & helped myself to 2 small cc cookies. It is REALLY strange having carbs and supposedly "on plan". Maybe that's why I'm doing it? Fridays are always pizza night at my house, too. It's something that started when I was a kid and has carried on to my children as well. It should be interesting. Maybe I'll be stuffed with a piece. (if that's the case, I might just cry! Happy tears, that is ![]() |

Yes, Kristin, thank you for the welcome. I love the JUDDD BUDDDS!!!!
![]() Flutter, you are doing so well. I hope my appetite keeps decreasing. I am quite hungry now, but I will wait until 1 pm (and later, because I'm doing a little grocery shopping at lunch) to eat something. I plan to eat rather light, if possible, lol. I want to cook cheeseburgers and fries for dinner. Plus, there's that wine. ![]() |

awww, thanks friend!
I'm not sure what I'm doing, but I'm glad it seems like I'm doing well. LOL! It is nice to feel my mood improved today, that's for sure. Just finished with some yummy Wendy's chili & a side salad. I think I could live on that stuff. Yum yum on your dinner plans! Wine, too, good for you! I try not to drink on pizza nights (helloooo heartburn!) but sometimes it's soooo tempting! |

Hello Ladies! My name is Atira and I've read through all your posts on this thread and visited Dr. Johnson's site. This WOE looks VERY interesting. I'm going to give it a whirl. I know low-carb works for me, and I'm happy eating that way most of the time, but after a couple of weeks I tend to go off track and gain back the weight I've lost. I think trying the alternating days sounds like a great way to fight boredom and still have great results. You've given me lots of ideas for DD menus. I already have my plan for tomorrow all worked out. Woo-hoo! Let's do this thing!

Thanks for the welcome, everyone. I went ahead last night and downloaded Dr. Johnson's book to my Kindle. Interesting reading. Makes sense. Like every first day of a new WOE, I am pumped. That makes me cautious. LOL. I guess I will see you ladies around the boards. Have a fabulous day!

Hi everyone,
I just finished my 2nd week today. I normally don't eat anything when I get up on my DD's. Then it seems I can just about go all day and be fine. Today, I ate shortly after I got up... That was a BIG mistake. I was hungry all day. Does anyone else do this? I could probably do a fast and be ok with it. On my last DD, I got up at 4:30, drank a cup of coffee (1 pkt of Splenda) and had a lot of water throughout the day.. I ate 2 pieces of low fat ham wrapped around a pickle for lunch and then 1/2 banana sandwich for supper. I felt really energized and in control of food. I just hope and pray my next DD (Monday), I can hold off and eat later in the day. |

Seems lots of folks have this issue. Not all, but lots.
I wait a long time before my first meal, often until the evening. On the other hand some JUDDDs eat three or many, little meals and do fine. We are all different.... ![]() |

Hi gang. Just finished my first DD with a couple of pickles. Stayed right at 500 cals. I'm not big on shakes and bars so I ate mini meals of turkey, cucumbers, egg whites and so on. Kept a careful food diary. I did get hungry and a couple of times I felt kinda panicky, then I remembered that tomorrow I didn't have to restrict my eating and I regained control. Woo-hoo! Counting ahead, I'm glad to see Thanksgiving happens to fall on an up day, but the day before is my anniversary. I guess hubby and I will go out to eat a different day. Cheers everyone!
