Ha! My daughter (only child) just turned 8, and I'm just now getting the weight off! You've got me beat by miles.

595 is fine to start. As Carly said, you can always work your way lower, or you might find you lose well with a higher DD. Some (lucky ducks!) do.

Thank you Dawn & Carly!
I am very excited to start this! I feel like it is a more reasonable way to lose weight. I just know that trying to eat 1400 cals a day and stick with it is a little to unrealistic for me. I like being able to have one weekend day that isn't a strick diet day!

Thanks again, Jessie

to everyone new to JUDDD. I just started in December and am doing pretty well. I still have trouble staying around 500 on DDs but I'm working on it.

Good luck to all -- you will get some great advice here. These women are awesome!

I did the same thing at first-put in cms and was like-wow, this is a pretty cool diet Then I got my real numbers Starting out I did 2-3 weeks of 500 calorie DDs (Dr. J says it's ok to do this), and then after I felt comfortable with my DDs I started slowly reducing my DD calories. I've been Juddding for almost two months now and I've only done a handful of DDs using my actual figured out calorie number and I've been losing steadily I know there's some who start out at 600 calorie DDs and go from there. It really does get easier to eat less calories on DDs, but don't feel like you have to get down really low, right from the start! Instead, use the first couple weeks to figure out what eating pattern works best for you (one large meal a day, several small portions every couple hours etc) and discover all the low calorie options out there, that you can incorporate into your DDs-there's a lot! I actually found three new favorites just this week Eventually it will all start clicking together

eta: my baby is almost 5 yrs old and I've now just lost the baby weight I gained with him The weight gain with him caught me off guard, because with both my girls I had horrible morning sickness throughout my entire pregnancies and actually lost more weight then I gained-I weighed less on my delivery days with them, then I did at my first prenatal appointments! But with him I only had a couple months of sickness and then I gained 30lbs

Thanks Sara

I really feel that 300 is low for me to start at. At 595 yesterday and went to bed early, so I would not eat any more, yet woke up this morning had two eggs and a cup of coffee and felt full till 12:30, normally I would be snacking on junk every hour or so.
I went grocery shopping and bought a bunch of food to keep me on track for at least a week. The egg drop soup sounds great, so I will be making a few servings ahead to keep me ready!
Very excited to get back into some of my clothes that I have not worn in a few years!

Hairy Mom, the Dr recommends a 2 week 'induction' of 500 cal DDs, and lots of us started higher than that and worked down to 500 slowly.

So enjoy!

New to this...looks promising

Hi everyone!
Over the past month I have been examining different WOE and came across HCG. Ive been counting calories/WW till I was blue in the face, but the lbs stayed on. (ok, I also had 2 babies in the past 22 months too) Ive lost weight since pregnancy, but standing still for a while now

So, I ordered HCG. Has not come in the mail yet (Im in Canada and things take a while to get to us from US) and discovered JUDD.
I began it 2 days ago. Ive lost 2 pounds since then. I know we should not weight ourselves daily, but I was curious. Im excited about JUDD.
Has anyone done HCG and transitioned to JUDD afterwards? I can see doing JUDD for life after losing most of my weight with HCG. (keep weight down and even lower it)

Im excited!!

LC to JUDDD! Very excited and doing good.

I was ecstatic to run across this thread due to some failure with I.F. and NK trials. I've implemented JUDDD 12/31/2012 and it's amazing how quick it's worked. I'm looking to get to my goal weight of 135 and maintain there after.

Jazzy! Yes, JUDDD is very exciting and you can really learn a lot about your body doing this plan. I don't know about HCG, but I know others will give you some good info. I see Dawnyama already has! Good luck!

Circledotx! It does work quick for some of us. It did for me. Your results are so impressive. My start weight in January of 2012 was just a few pounds over yours. I've still got a long way to go, but I know I can do it, and your numbers are sure inspirational to me!

Thank you so much! You're doing fantastic! I love to see success and determination.
I unfortunately gained about 10lbs during the holidays with "low carb" and failing with nutritional ketosis. I suffer from a binge eating disorder and went crazy with overeating on holiday parties. So I'm very determined this time to reach my goal. I was at 139lbs before Thanksgiving and back up to 146ish (after a week of JUDDD, I was around 153 when I started). Seeing the scale move back down that quickly was awesome! It's great to finally have some carbs back. I'm ready for some options. I'm a huge gym fanatic and have found that even on DD I'm 100% capable of completing a good workout, weight and strength training included. I love the feeling of freedom from food. Yesterday I had a bit of an issue with my DD, went over to 781 cal, I did however workout and my net intake was 540 after exercise. (540 is my limit). Today I'm just going to have a good UD and look forward to another DD! I just ate breakfast and boy am I stuffed. I'm loving the ability to feel satisfied with food and stop thinking about it. =o) I look forward to sharing success with everyone!

Well here I am at the end of my 2nd DD! I still have 220 cals to use and a big plate of spring mix, salsa and chicken breast is calling my name!
I am so appreciative of all the great ideas that you all have posted for DDs. My Good friend just had me try Bengal Tea by Celestial Seasons.....Yummy! It is just like a fire ball and tastes great with no cream.
Looks like that will be a DD staple!

First down day done and feeling pretty good...

Thanks to the plethora of information from all the JBs with 'experience in this WOE, I have completed my first down day with minimal hunger and am feeling pretty excited about this WOE So I started yesterday with my first down day and took a Pterostilbene at breakie (coffee and some cold potato with a spritz of olive oil and a little salt n pepper)...Didn't really get hungry u til around 4 and had more cold potato, then an EAS shake around 7:30 and felt quite satisfied. Looking forward to getting into a routine with my UD and DD and finally losing weight with a plan I can really live with forever.

The eggnogg'n by Biggalow is a tea. But I have some eggnogg coffee. It is a k-cup. Do you have a Keurig? Also World Market has an eggnogg flavored coffee. I am sure by now they are out of stock. But Starbucks has its holiday coffee, so maybe not. I hope you can find some. I like my eggnogg tea and my eggnogg coffee.

Another way to have eggnogg coffee---add eggnogg as your creamer in the cup!! What a great flavor it adds. Was just in the store today and my Bi-Lo had some eggnogg in the dairy section. So good to still see it there!

No help from me but I think there is a sticky about this. You have to have a certain number of posts or have been a member for a certain length of time before you can make a siggie. 25 posts maybe?

I think it's something like 25 for a signature, but to use a ticker you have to have been a member for 60 days and have at least 60 posts. There is a sticky on the main board.
