Hi everyone! I'm new to this WOE. Been doing it for 3 whole days and really like it so far. My dilemma. I have two Xmas celebrations with family that will involve eating on Saturday and Monday. Of course these are my scheduled DD. Can I do an "in-between day" to get myself on a different schedule? I saw someone mention a MD. Is that a medium day and if so, how does that work?

Welcome aetinger! MD does stand for Medium day, its about the average of your UD and DD calories, add them together and divide by 2. (that's what I understand from others' posts.)
That's what I would do if I were you, change the rotation to change the 2 DD to become UD. I'm not sure where to change it, someone else with more experience will probably give you advice, I'm still trying to figure it all out too Most importantly, have fun at your events! Glad to have you here! |

Perfect. That helps a lot! Yesterday was a DD so I'll do 2 MDs and then a DD before an UD on Saturday. Is that right? |

Hi Aeatinger, and
! Actually, I would do MD today, UD Thurs, DD Fri, etc. You don't usually want to restrict calories with two DDs or two MDs. Or you could do 2 UDs in a row to get your DD where you want it. Since you really just started, I would probably choose 2 UDs in a row. You don't want to feel super deprived or risk telling your body it's going into starvation. After the holidays, it'll be much easier to settle into your rotations and really get going. Good luck! |

Like other poster said I'd just do two UDs in a row-even though it would seem like a negative to do this, many of us find that actually works better than doing a MD ![]() |

This is good to know, I was thinking about an MD this weekend to change rotations for something that came up, but I'll just do 2 UD in a row to change it. I have done 1 MD since I started and really didn't like it too much. Simple is better for me lol

aeatinger, yes as you are so new to JUDDDing I would go the 2 UD route, just be sure to count your calories so they don't turn into Up Up and Away Days!Of course you won't lose quite as quickly but that is not important in the greater scheme of things. You wan to get your metabolism working again and the weight loss will follow. |

Newbie onboard the JUDDD train!
Hi everyone!
![]() I'm yet another low carber hoping that JUDDD will get the scales moving. I've LC'd off and on for a couple of years, but always seem to hit a wall and the scales stop moving. After reading the many JUDDD threads here and learning so much, I began my JUDDD journey the day after Christmas 2012. Although the scales are jumping all around, I feel great! I've only lost 1.8 pounds since I started, but am not discouraged at all because I feel so good. My DD's seem to be easier than my UD's since trying to squeeze in 1750 calories in on an UD is tough, but I know I need to get as close as I can so that the "magic" will occur. I live in central Texas and have a grown daughter in PA and she will be starting JUDDD shortly as well! How cool is it to have your daughter as a JUDDD BUD? ![]() I'm pushing 65 years old and the scales are very reluctant to move these days, but after reading everything here, if anything can get them to move, JUDDD can! Thanks to all the regulars here who have posted so much information! Without your posts, I wouldn't be here, so my hat is off to you all! ~Pat |
