Hi everyone,

Good to know. I am wondering if you would continue to lose on P3 doing JUDDD WOE. P3 is all about the reset and I wonder how eating 500 calories on the DD would help or hurt stabilization. I guess I could try and if the 500 DD results in a gain I could figure out the 3 week max and min DD and UP calories. Seems confusing, but It may be worth a solid try. Anymore input is greatly appreciated!

Hello everyone! I stumbled upon this forum when reading about intermittent fasting. I decided to join because it seemed like such an encouraging and upbeat community.
I've been the chubby girl my entire life. 135 may not seem like a lot but it looked like it on my small framed barely 5'3" body. JUDD seemed fantastic as I'm not a huge fan of intense cardio and go hours without eating. I dropped down to 117 several months ago eating 1200 calories (vegan) and strenuously working out. Needless to say I gained most of it back after I fell off the wagon. I hope this is something I can keep off! If anyone can lend advice...I was considering eating nutritional keto and consuming 1200 calories on my UD while completely fasting on DD (no eating). Doing no cardio, just strength training three times a week. I plan on not doing DDs on the weekend. would this still be JUDDD. any thoughts? |

Merienda! Glad to have you joining us!0 DD and 1200 UD calories sounds too low to me for your height and weight. I guessed and put in 30 as your age and used low activity and 20% weight loss, and I get 336/1678 for your calories. You definitely don't want to go too low on your calories, because you don't want to signal your metabolism to go into starvation and slow down on you. Defeats the whole purpose. Doing NK, you will be revving up your metabolism to an extent anyway (provided that WOE works well for your body - it seems to on mine!), so I would suggest you start out eating at your calculated calories, using NK if that's what you prefer, and give it a few weeks to see what happens. Good luck, and keep posting with your progress!

Morning all. Started this journey officially, back in Feb 2011, after I got some heart problems diagnosed (under dr's care). I then weighed 200+ and felt awful. I immediately got determined and lost 40 lbs by Nov, 2011 eating lowish carb, low cal and exercising my butt off!!! Then maintenance started, unplanned, just couldn't drop any more...
![]() In March, 2012, dropped wheat, which make me feel wonderful, but no more weight loss (and they promised ) Then, NK, yea, can eat all the fat and still drop the fat. I gained...![]() So, I'm at 164 this morning. Did my first DD on Sunday and felt really wierd. Ended up eating 574. I'm pre-diabetic so thought it was my sugar levels. But everytime I checked it was ok. I did get an 80 so maybe that new low caused me to get . UD was good - even tho I had trouble eating to my level. (1668, 333). Second DD today. I did drop .4 lb since Sunday!!! I'll be 65 in Jan - does that have anything to do with why I can't do this to easily...?? They say age matters!Anyway, I've been reading every thread on JUDDD and learning sooo much. Bought the book on Kindle. I'll go to the December thread to learn some more. Do want to say that this is THE most friendly group I've seen. SO HAPPY I found you!!! ![]() Arlene |

Arlene! I'm glad you've been reading up and like our group already. You'll get nothing but help and support here, which we all need! You've done magnificently in your losses so far, and I'm sure you'll find JUDDD helpful to get to where you want to be. And the health benefits are unbelievable too! |

to all the new JUDDDers!I restarted rotations myself last week, after 3 mos. recuperating from a total hip replacement. This WOE has been the only way that I've been able to get below my stubborn set point of 155 lbs. in four years. Best wishes to you all with your continued progress on your JUDDD journeys! ![]() |

Arlene and Merienda. Merienda you have the right advice from LowCarbGirl. If you drop your calories too low you will not get the benefits of JUDDD as your body will think it is in starvation mode. We have a saying here, one of the hardest for most to accept, but remember, this is not a race. Take your time to read and understand what JUDDD can do for you and give it time. You will be amazed and I hope delighted. Arlene, we are almost the same age and JUDDD helped me lose my last 10 lbs when nothing else had worked for years. I am certain you will soon see the weight come off, but more importantly for our age group, you will experience many, many of the health benefits of JUDDD.
