Think I'm on the right track...
Last week was not the best and I knew it. So while my eating was terrible (and it was terrible), my mind was thinking of strategies. I'll be going to the grocery store today and planning meals for the entire week later on so that tomorrow I'll be armed and ready to make this work.

Go Jenn! Sometimes observing what we are doing while it's happening is the best time to figure out how to make a change if it's not what we want. When you say "not the best," do you mean you were over calories (up days? down days?), not happy with your food choices, or something else?

It surely helps to be prepared and have everything you want in the house.
I'm going to search for an old DD grocery thread and link it here. |

Thanks, Carly! Will check it out!
Christina-a little bit of everything! lol! My problem has always been not eating enough and then, when I do eat, I make poor choices. For example, I may not eat all morning, realize I'm hungry somewhere in the afternoon and eat say, a candy bar and diet soda. Then at night, I either have a few bites while I'm cooking or don't eat at all. Then there are other times where I won't eat during the day, but I'll have a large supper at night, several days in a row. That's usually on the weekends because the kids aren't home and DH and I will go out.

OK, well the good news is, you have a natural affinity for down days! You'd be a perfect candidate for having your first meal in the afternoon or evening. But you're right ... you could get more bang for your calories with some of the options on the DD thread Carly posted. ![]()

Planning makes this WOE a lot easier...you are definitely on the right track.
And please respect your UD calories. If they drop too low too often, this becomes just another low cal diet that puts stress your body. I still have to make sure I planned most UDs high enough, then double-check myself to make sure I actually ate what I planned. |

Oh, I know! I have such a hard time on UD's! I really struggle to get all the calories in, but I know I have to!

You're doing great to plan it all out, Jenn. And I do firmly believe in the importance of your UD calories. If you're struggling, think nuts, cheese, avocado, nut butters, butter. Lots of yummy choices!

You know, I've realized that I had trouble getting my UD cals in at first, but no more! Now I have to be careful not to go over. I think I've adjusted. And I still have 2133 UD cals! I hope I can continue to adjust as my cals go down? |
