Clothes sizing
Happy Saturday!
![]() I've been tracking my measurements monthly, and I pulled up a couple of sizing charts to see how many inches I need to lose to be in a 14 or 16 petite. (I can't wait ... I'm only 5'3", and petite length clothes are proportioned much better, but are hard to find in the plus size department). I have a ways to go, especially in the waist (which used to be where the weight came off first? Oh well). I noticed something about the sizing. In all of the plus sizes, the difference between one size is two inches per measurement. Between regular-sizes 12-16, the difference is 1.5 inches, and from 0-12 the difference is one inch. I just thought this might be encouraging to those who are starting in the plus sizes and the sizes haven't seemed to go down as much as we think they should for pounds lost .... we have to lose more inches per size!

I suspected that was the case. It felt like forever to get into a 16, but 12 into a ten was like 2 weeks!

Thanks for that bit of information Chris. When I start getting bummed for not going down a size I will remember this. Im same height as you and I know what you mean about petites. They are harder to find but you can or now they call them short.

I was able, at times, to find petite plus sizes at Burlington Coat Factory- hit or miss, but worth a try if you have one where you live.
